System Reliability from Common Random Stress in a Type II Bivariate Pareto Model with Bivariate Type I Censored Data

  • In this paper, we assume that strengths of two components system follow a type II bivariate Pareto model with bivariate type I censored data. And these two components are subjected to a common stress which is independent of the strengths of the components. We obtain estimators for the system reliability based on likelihood function and relative frequency, respectively. Also we construct approximated confidence intervals for the reliability based on maximum likelihood estimator and relative frequency estimator, respectively. Finally we present a numerical study.

Rapid Sintering Process of Ultra Fine WC-Co Hard Materials by High-Frequency Induction Heating

  • 1) Using a developed high-frequency induction heated sintering method, the rapid densification of WC-Co hard materials was accomplished using ultra fine powders with 260 nm size within 1 minute. 2) The relative density of the composite was 99.5% for the applide pressure of 60MPa and the induced current for 90% output of total capacity. 3) The grain size of WC-Co hard materials is about 260nm and the average thickness of the binder phase determined is about 11nm. The fracture toughness and the hardness of this work 12 $MPa{\cdot}nm^2$, respectively. 4) Using pressureless sintering, we produced dense WC-Co hard materials with a relative density of 97% without applying pressure.

대수주기 X 다이폴 안테나의 해석 및 특성 (Analysis and Characteristics of Log-Periodic X Dipole Antennas)

  • LPDA(Log-Periodic X Dipole Antenna)에 비하여 안테나 붐의 길이가 짧으면 서도 복사특성이 우수한 대수주기 안테나로서 X 다이폴을 구성소자로 하는 LPXDA(Log-Periodic X Antennas)를 제안하였다. 500MHz~1,000MHz에서 동작하는 LPXDA를 설계하고 모멘트법을 이용하여 설계안테나의 본사특성을 해석하여 LPDA의 특성과 비교 검토하였다. 그 결과 본 논문에서 제시한 LPXDA가 LPDA보다 붐의 길이가 20%짧으면서도 주파수 변화에 따른 복사특성이 우수한 것으로 나타났으며 LPXDA의 측정결과도 계산결과에 근접하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • (1-x-y)Pb($Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})0_3-BaTiO_3PbTiO_3(0.05{\leq}x{\leq}0.20, 0.05{\leq}y{\leq}0.15$) ternary compound ceramics were fabricated by the mixed oxide method. The dielectric properties with temperature and frequency of the specimens were investigated. Relative dielectric constants of the specimens were increased with $BaTiO_3$ contents. Increasing the $BaTiO_3$contents, the variation in the relative dielectric constant with frequency, the temperature coefficient of capacitance (TCC) and the dielectric loss were decreased.

고정밀 장비의 진동허용규제치에 대한 시간 및 주파수 영역에서 나타나는 불일치 문제에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Mismatch of Time and Frequency Domain for Vibration Criteria of Sensitive Equipment)

  • Modem technology depends on the reliability of extremely high precision equipments. In the production of semiconductor wafer, optical and electron microscopes, ion-beam, laser device must maintain their alignments within a sub-micrometer. This equipment requires a vibration free environment to provide its proper function. Therefore, this high technology equipments require very strict environmental vibration criteria because it is used as basic data for the design of building structure and structural dynamics of equipment. In this paper, the new approach is proposed to investigate the mismatch problem of time and frequency domain for vibration criteria of sensitive equipment. The proposed approach is based on a vibration measurement data and a relative transfer function which can be obtained by experiment or analysis.

  • We have fabricated insulating thin films using p-hexadecoxyphenol(p-Hp) that was formed phenol-formaldehyde resin of crosslinked structure from reaction with formaldehyde by LB technique. For fabricated MIM device, the possibility for insulating layers of electronic were investigated by electrical properties of their LB films according to crosslinking of LB films current-voltage (I-V) properties and frequency-capacitance (C-F) characteristics. We have provided evidence for the high insulating performance of phenol-formaldehyde thin films by the LB method. Conductivity of their LB films was as follows: pure water > 1 % aq. Formaldehyde > heat treatment, in the current-voltage (I-V) characteristics. It is demonstrated that insulation properties of crosslinked p-HP LB films were improved. In capacitance-frequency properties, the heat-treated p-HP LB films for crosslinking showed a low relative dielectric constant.

Relative Difficulty of Various English Writings by Fuzzy Reasoning and Its Application to Selecting Teaching Materials

  • The writing styles of TIME and Newsweek are analyzed using a specially developed linguistic program. These two news magazines were chosen because of their wide popularity. As for the results, it became obvious that both the frequency curve of words and that of characters have not changed for the past 60 years. Also, we have found that the frequency curves have some inflection points and that the genre of English writings can be identified by these points. After counting the percentage of required vocabulary for junior high school students and high school students in English writings, we can derive the relative difficulties of them using fuzzy reasoning. Fuzzy rules are constructed using features of the characteristic curves. We feel it would be a good guide index when selecting textbooks or supplementary readers.

  • Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) based precise positioning using Real Time Kinematic (RTK) technique has been proposed as an enabler of the formation operation of moving vehicles. In RTK methods, the integer ambiguity of GNSS carrier phase measurements must be resolved. Although there have been many proposed algorithms for the integer ambiguity resolution, the widelane combination of carrier phase measurements and LAMBDA methods have gained the most popularity in literatures when dual frequency GNSS measurements were used. In this paper, we evaluated five alternative methods to determine relative positions of moving base and rover receivers; the round-off scheme of widelane carrier phase, instant least-squares and Kalman filter-based LAMBDA with widelane carrier phase, instant least-squares and Kalman filter-based LAMBDA with dual frequency measurements. The paper presented the performance of each method using flight test data, which showed their strength and weakness in the aspects of time-to-first-fix, ambiguity resolution success ratio, and relative position errors. Based on that, we provided practical recommendations of RTK operations for moving vehicles.

HadGEM3-RA 기후모델 일강우자료를 이용한 빈도해석 성능 평가 (Assessment of Frequency Analysis using Daily Rainfall Data of HadGEM3-RA Climate Model)

  • 본 연구에서는 기후변화 시나리오 자료를 이용하여 지점빈도해석(At-site Frequency Analysis, AFA)과 지역빈도해석(Regional Frequency Analysis, RFA) 등을 수행하였고, Monte Carlo simulation을 통한 RRMSE(relative root mean squared error) 값을 비교·분석함으로써 각 빈도해석 방법에 따른 성능을 평가하고자 하였다. 확률강우량 산정을 위하여 기상청에서 국가표준시나리오로 제공하는 RCM(Regional Climate Model) 자료 중 하나인 HadGEM3-RA(12.5km) 기후모델 자료로부터 우리나라 615개 지점에 대한 일 강우 자료를 추출하였고, 자료의 편의보정(bias correction)과 공간상세화(spatial disaggregation)를 위하여 분위사상법(quantile mapping)과 역거리제곱법(inverse distance squared method)을 적용하였다. 분석 결과 지역빈도해석 방법이 지점빈도해석보다 정확하게 확률강우량을 산정하는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 기후변화 시나리오 기반의 확률강우량 산정시 지역빈도해석의 결과가 보다 합리적인 전망 결과를 도출할 것으로 판단된다.

순간주파수 분석기법의 응용 (2) -주파수의 부호를 결정하는 조건- (Application of Instantaneous Frequency Analysis(II) -Conditions of Existing Negative Frequency Components-)

  • An instantaneous frequency analysis is a technique to examine a signature for the rotating machinery if the signal has several transitions within a cycle. This paper discusses the conditions of existing negative frequency components in the instantaneous frequency. By using a signal consisted of two frequency components, the instantaneous frequency analysis is conducted while the amplitude ratio between two frequency components has been changed. The analysis shows that, depending on the amplitude ratio, the instantaneous frequencies have averaged, zero-valued, or negative components. It turns out that the negative-valued instantaneous frequencies, which have been regarded as the noise effect, are the consequence of the calculation process for the multisignal components. The criteria of existing the negative values in instantaneous frequencies is given in terms of the relative amplitude ratio and the frequency difference. Especially when the amplitude ratio approaches to 1, the instantaneous frequency fluctuates ${\pm}\infty$ in theory, which implies that instantaneous frequency has unstable region around the amplitude ratio, 1.Also, as the frequency difference between major signal components is increased, the region of existing negative instantaneous becomes broader. In an instantaneous frequency analysis, therefore, a narrow band analysis is suggested, with extreme care if the amplitude ratio approaches to 1. In this paper, a vibration signal monitored from a rotating machinery is also examined as an application example in order to show the existence of negative instantaneous frequencies components.
