  • In this paper we wish to establish some results relating to the growths of composition of two entire functions with their corresponding left and right factors on the basis of their generalized relative order (α, β) and generalized relative lower order (α, β) where α and β are continuous non-negative functions defined on (-∞, +∞).

  • We define an operator version of the relative Rényi entropy as the generalization of relative von Neumann entropy, and provide its fundamental properties and the bounds for its trace value. Moreover, we see an effect of the relative Rényi entropy under tensor product, and show the sub-additivity for density matrices.

  • Let a be an ideal of 𝔞 commutative noetherian ring R. We give some descriptions of the 𝔞-depth of 𝔞-relative Cohen-Macaulay modules by cohomological dimensions, and study how relative Cohen-Macaulayness behaves under flat extensions. As applications, the perseverance of relative Cohen-Macaulayness in a polynomial ring, formal power series ring and completion are given.

  • Given a homomorphism ${\Pi}:X{\rightarrow}Y$, with Y minimal, we will introduce the concept of a relative (to ${\Pi}$) F-regular relation which generalize the notions of F-proximality, F-regularity and relative F-proximality, and will study its properties.

  • In this article, we investigate some structural properties of head-internal relative clauses in Korean and their development in Korean-speaking children. In this study, we found head-internal relative clauses in Korean has a more limited domain than head-external relative clauses with respect to positions that can be relativized and clause boundaries that the head can move across: in head-internal relative clauses, only a subject or an object can be relativized and doubly embedded clause constitutes a barrier to the movement of the head. We also found that head-internal relative clauses are easier to understand and produce than head-external relative clauses. In addition, we found that head-internal relative clauses emerge earlier than head-external relative clauses in the acquisition of relative clauses in Korean. The preference of young children (aged 4 and 5) for head-internal relative clauses over head-external relative clauses suggests that children like to use head-internal relative clauses at an early developmental stage when they have difficulty in using head-external relative clauses.

  • This study is on the constant-current stress corrosion test, related to the load stress, in both the welded and non-welded zones of high tensile strength steel that is used for natural gas transmission. The surface corrosion pattern of the welded zone of API 5L-X65 specimens for natural gas transmission showed general corrosion and narrow pitting, and the pitting was increased with load stress. Initially, the average relative electrode potential and the average relative current of the high tensile strength steel, used for natural gas transmission specimens, were decreased rapidly, and the average relative electrode potential was higher and the average relative current was lower in welded zone, compared to base metal. The average relative electrode potential was decreased with load stress, and the average relative current was somewhat increased by increasing the load stress. The corrosion rate was less in welded zone, compared to base metal, and the corrosion rate was decreased by increasing the load stress.

  • Granulated coal ash (GCA), a mixture of the by-product from milling processes with a small amount of cement added, has recently come to be used as a new form of geomaterial. The shear strength and deformation behaviours of GCA are greatly determined by its relative density or void ratio. A series of drained triaxial compression tests were performed on cylindrical specimens of GCA at confining pressures of between 50 kPa and 400 kPa at initial relative densities of 50%, 70% and 80%. Experimental results show that a rise in relative density increases the peak shear strength and intensifies the dilation behaviour. The initial tangent modulus and secant modulus of the stress-strain curve increase with increasing initial relative density, whereas the axial and volumetric strains at failure decrease with level of initial relative density. The stress-dilatancy relationships of GCA at different relative densities and confining pressures display similar tendency. The dilatancy behaviour of GCA is modelled by the Nova rule and the material property N in Nova rule of GCA is much larger than that of natural sand.

  • In this study, the atmospheric aerosol concentration measured at different relative humidity levels was analyzed. Using an optical particle counter, PM10 and PM2.5 concentration as well as particle size distribution were measured and the relation between these size resolved data and relative humidity was studied. The results showed that mass concentration increases as relative humidity increases. The comparison between PM1, PM2.5 and PM10 showed that the fine particles grow more than coarse particles as relative humidity increases. The results also showed that PM10-2.5 and relative humidity do not show close correlation, which means that the mass increase of PM10 at high relative humidity is mainly due to the growth of PM2.5.

  • Relative density, used to express dynamics condition of sand quantitatively, is measured by RI Test, Standard Penetration Test and Cone Penetration Test. Each measurement method has demerits, which is complicated or needs a specific analysis instrument and an analysis of expert. Also the ground is in wet condition commonly because of an unsaturated zone between a saturated zone and a surface, so the behaviour of the ground has different engineering properties unlike the dry ground and it diminishes accuracy of measuring relative density. In this study, the correlation between relative density and penetration of fall cone test in dry condition and wet condition with variation of water content was analyzed and a simple measuring method for relative density was suggested. As a result, there were difference of penetration between dry sands and wet sands, the correlation between relative density and penetration showed linear expression and relative density could be measured by the linear relation.
