지적자본 관점에서의 과학기술계 연구기관 평가지표 분석 (Analysing Evaluation Indicators for the Research Institutes in Science & Technology Sector in the Perspective of Intellectual Capital Model)

  • This work firstly aims to analyse the balance between tangibles and intangibles as well as among human capital, structural capital and relational capital of evaluation indicators for the research institutes in science and technology sector conducted in 2006, by adopting intellectual capital model. The research question of this work comes from that while the R&D activity can produce both tangibles and intangibles, there have no been methodologies to relevantly measure and rationally judge these, in particular, intangible performance. The result shows that the institute evaluation system in 2006 had given more weight on tangibles and structural capital than intangibles and other intellectual capitals such as human capital and relational capital, in comparison to the past evaluation system, even though, in principle, the current evaluation system has to deal with the intangible research performances as well as tangible ones in economic, social and cultural perspective. Finally, based on these analysis, I will try to suggest some policy directions for overcoming the deficits of indicators in institute evaluation system.

Evaluating Join Performance on Relational Database Systems

  • The join operator is fundamental in relational database systems. Evaluating join queries on large tables is challenging because records need to be efficiently matched based on a given key. In this work, we analyze join queries in SQL with large tables in which a foreign key may be null, invalid or valid, given a referential integrity constraint. We conduct an extensive join performance evaluation on three DBMSs. Specifically, we study join queries varying table sizes, row size and key probabilistic distribution, inserting null, invalid or valid foreign key values. We also benchmark three well-known query optimizations: view materialization, secondary index and join reordering. Our experiments show certain optimizations perform well across DBMSs, whereas other optimizations depend on the DBMS architecture.

  • 온톨로지 기반의 애플리케이션에 대한 사용이 증가함에 따라 시맨틱 정보를 효율적으로 저장 및 처리하는 것이 중요하게 다루어지고 있다. 비록 몇몇의 관련된 시스템들이 개발되어왔지만, 이들은 시맨틱 데이타의 크기, 시맨틱 질의 처리의 성능 시맨틱 데이타 유지관리의 관점에서 몇몇 제한을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 온톨로지 관리 시스템을 위한 OWL 인지 관계형 모델을 제안하고 이를 이용하는 SQL 기반의 시맨틱 질의 처리 메커니즘을 제안한다. 또한 질의 처리 성능에 대한 검증을 위해 Sesame와 비교를 통해서 좀 더 효율적임을 보여준다.

XML Schema에 대한 관계형 스키마 자동 생성 시스템 (An Automatic Relational Schema Generating System for an XML Schema)

  • 점점 더 많은 문서들이 XML의 형태를 갖게 됨에 따라, XML문서들을 관계형 데이터베이스에 저장하기 위한 관계형 스키마의 생성이 더욱 중요해 지고 있다. 이 논문은 최근 W3C에 의해서 제안된 XML Schema로부터 관계형 스키마를 생성해 내는 기법 및 구현에 대해서 설명한다. 기존의 DTD기반 인라인 기법은 XML Schema에 적용될 수 없는데, 이유는 XML Schema에는 DTD에 존재하지 않는 새로운 특징들이 많이 있기 때문이다 즉, 다양한 데이타 타입, 상속, 다형성과 같은 요소들이 추가되어, XML Schema는 보다 강력해진 반면, 이로부터 관계형 스키마를 생성하는 일은 더욱 어렵게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 인라인 기법을 기반으로 XML Schema 인라인 기법을 제시하였다. XML Schema 인라인 기법은 먼저 XML Schema의 다양한 데이타 타입들을 관계형 데이터 베이스의 타입으로 매핑시키는 작업을 한 후, 타입과 엘리먼트 정보를 이용하여 스키마 그래프와 타입 그래프를 만들고, 이 그래프를 순회하면서 관계형 테이블들을 생성하게 된다. 그 외에도 xsi:type, 익명 타입들을 처리하기 위한 기법들을 소개하고 있으며, 시스템의 성능을 향상시키기 위한 몇몇 휴리스틱 기법에 대해서도 소개하였다. 마지막으로 이진 테이블 저장 방식과의 성능 비교 실험을 통하여 XML Schema 인라인 기법의 우수성을 보였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 자율수중운동체(AUVs, Autonomous Underwater Vehicles)의 실시간 충돌회피를 위한 휴리스틱 탐색기법을 논한다. 퍼지관계곱(fuzzy relational products)은 항행 환경에서 발생하는 장애물과 다음으로 이동 가능한 후보노드들과의 관계를 분석, 종합하는 수학적 도구로 사용된다. 본 논문은 영역전문가 보유한 장애물회피 관련 경험적 정보(heuristic information)를 반영하여 보다 효율적인 평가함수(evaluation function)를 고안하며 지능항행시스템의 상세경로설정(local path-planning)에 퍼지관계곱을 적용하여 보다 개선된 휴리스틱 탐색기법을 제안한다. 제안된 탐색기법의 성능검증을 위해 수행시간(cpu time), 경로의 최적화(optimization) 정도, 그리고 사용 메모리 관점에서 시뮬레이션을 통해 $A^{*}$ 탐색기법과 비교한다.

Development of an Object-Relational IFC Server

  • In this paper we propose a framework for an Object Relational IFC Server (OR-IFC Server). Enormous amounts of information are generated in each project. Today, many BIM systems are developed by various CAD software vendors. Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) developed by International Alliance for Interoperability (IAI) is an open standard data model for exchanging data between the various BIM tools. The IFC provides a foundation for exchanging and sharing of information directly between software applications and define a shared building project model. The IFC model server is a database management system that can keep track of transactions, modifications, and deletions. It plays a role as an information hub for storing and sharing information between various parties involved in construction projects. Users can communicate with each other via the internet and utilize functions implemented in the model server such as partial data import/export, file merge, version control, etc. IFC model servers using relational database systems have been developed. However, they suffered from slow performance and long transaction time due to a complex mapping process between the IFC structure and a relational-database structure because the IFC model schema is defined in the EXPRESS language which is object-favored language. In order to simplify the mapping process, we developed a set of rules to map the IFC model to an object-relational database (ORDB). Once the database has been configured, only those pieces of information that are required for a specific information-exchange scenario are extracted using the pre-defined information delivery manual (IDM). Therefore, file sizes will be reduced when exchanging data, meaning that files can now be effectively exchanged and shared. In this study, the framework of the IFC server using ORDB and IDM and the method to develop it will be examined.

A Study on Determining Trade Terms for Logistics Efficiency in the Era of Logistics 4.0: Moderated Mediating Effect of Added Value of Traded Goods

  • Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to study how flexibility and mutuality in determining trade terms impact logistics efficiency in the context of relational theory. Additionally, the effect of relational contracts on logistical efficiency relative to the value of the goods being traded is investigated. Design/methodology - According to the relational contract theory, we developed 17 factors utilizing a 7-point Likert scale to measure variables related to flexibility, mutuality, logistics efficiency, and the added value of goods. The survey occurred over four months, and was distributed directly, and via email, phone, and online Google surveys. A total of 403 surveys were collected out of 1,800 distributed, and 380 were analyzed. The principal respondents were import/export companies and members of the Korea International Trade Association and the Korea Small and Medium Business Export-Import Association. The collected data were analyzed using frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and correlation analysis using SPSS ver. 26.0 statistical software, and hypothesis test results were derived using Process Macro ver. 3.5. Findings - This study provides evidence that negotiation flexibility for trade terms affects the efficiency of the logistics process, and the mutuality of such arrangements is shown to be associated with the flexibility and efficiency of logistics processes. Additionally, it has been established that companies whose trade goods possess a low degree of added value may experience increased efficiency in logistics operations if they agree to trade terms that are both flexible and mutually beneficial with their counterparts. Originality/value - This study suggests that in an environment of rapidly shifting global logistics and unpredictable related costs, trade companies may be able to improve logistics efficiency by establishing flexible, mutually beneficial trade terms when entering into contracts. Furthermore, it is suggested that companies dealing in low-value-added products may improve the logistical performance of approaching trade from a perspective of relational contracts.

공항운영당국과 협력업체와의 상호관계에 있어 공항서비스평가(ASQ) 성과에 미치는 영향요인에 관한 연구 (A Research on the Factors affecting the Score of Airport Service Quality(ASQ) Considering the Interaction Between Airport Authority and Subcontractor)

  • Incheon international airport has been successful, that is, the winner of Airport Service Quality (ASQ) evaluation performed by ACI(Airport Council International) for nine consecutive years. It goes without saying that such an outstanding performance was made not only by airport authority itself but by the collaboration among subcontractors at Incheon international airport. Since Incheon airport is showing more than 80% of outsourcing rate, it is important to mention and study the roles and functions of subcontractors who has made a major contribution to ASQ performance. According to empirical research in this paper, it was found out service attitude, communication skill and interdependence between airport authority and subcontractors were important factors affecting the ASQ score. It is also analyzed that those independent factors have an impact on ASQ performance through the intermediate factor of trust. As a result, service attitude and interdependence between airport authority and subcontractors have statistically a significant effect to the relational satisfaction and ASQ performance. It could be concluded that trust is significant factor determining the causal relationship among service attitude, communication skill, relational satisfaction and ASQ score.

객체-관계형 데이타베이스 기반의 XML 문서 저장 기법 (A Storage Technique for XML Documents based on Object-Relational Database)

  • XML이 인터넷의 표준언어로 자리잡고 있음에 따라 XML을 중심으로 한 많은 데이타 관리기술이 개발되고 있다. 특히 XML 문서를 저장하는 방식에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있는데, 이러한 기존 저장 기법들에 대해 동일한 기준으로 성능을 평가하여 효율적인 저장 기법을 제안하는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 객체-관계형 데이타베이스 모델을 이용해 XML 문서를 효율적으로 저장할 수 있는 새로운 저장 기법을 제안한다. 그리고 저장 기법들에 대한 성능 평가를 통해, 제안된 저장 기법을 효과적인 저장 기법으로 제시한다. 본 논문의 의의는 기존의 데이타 관리 모델을 사용하여 XML 문서를 보다 쉽게 효율적으로 저장할 수 있는 저장 기법을 제안하였으며, 동일한 기준을 사용한 성능 평가를 통해 XML 문서의 저장 기법들에 대한 성능을 평가하였다는 점이다.

The Relationship between Dynamic Capabilities, Marketing Capabilities, and Environmental Turbulence: An Empirical Study from China

  • This study proposes a model and attempts to illustrate the relationship between the frequency of dynamic capability utilization and marketing capabilities, and how market, technology, and competitor turbulence may affect these relationships. The findings suggest that in a highly turbulent environment, frequent use of sensing and integration capabilities may cause certain changes in the impact of marketing capabilities, and in a highly competitive environment, marketing capabilities are positively correlated with company performance. The sample consists of 212 enterprises of China with a three-year vertical data span. The partial least square program Smart-PLS was used for data analysis. The careful management of dynamic capabilities (i.e., relational, sensory, and inclusive) is required to address environmental conditions to achieve capacity alignment and ultimately enhance performance. Our findings demonstrate that relationship capabilities are valuable to the organization and might even help improve its sensing and integrating capabilities. In a highly competitive environment, marketing capabilities contribute the most to company performance. The more frequent the environmental turbulence, the higher the impact of integration capabilities on marketing capabilities. This situation necessitates the organization's usage of dynamic capabilities to modify its marketing approach effectively between stable and turbulent environments.
