비기능이 학습과 기억에 미치는 영향에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Influence of the Function of Spleen on Learning and Memory)

  • This study was conducted to prove that there exists a relation between the spleen and learning and memory as Oriental medicine believesTo promote the function of the Spleen, Guibitang was administered to rats in this study. Rats were 250~300g Sprague-Dawley, and were divided into three groups. One was the normal group without any pretreatment. Another was the control group which was administered normal saline and the abdominal injection of L-NAME before learning and memory test. And the 3rd was the sample group, to which was administered Guibitang extract and (no 'the') abdominal injection of L-NAME before the learning and memory test. Each group was made up of 12 rats. Morris water maze and radial arm maze tasks were performed in the learning test and Morris water maze task in the memory test. For 2 days to evaluate the ability of learning in the Morris water maze, 16 trials were carried out and first latency(lapse time to find the escape platform for the first time) was measured. The next day, to evaluate the ability of memory, the escape platform was eliminated from the maze, and total path, target entry number, first latency and memory score were measured. 48hrs before the radial arm maze task was performed, bait was deprived from each group. After learning test, bait was permitted to each group. So 85% of the body weight was maintained for 6 days of the test. Each of the eight arms was baited; correct choice numer and error were counted; each trial was finished when the rat had entered each of the eight arms, or more than 10 minutes had elapsed. The results were as follows: In the learning test, the first latency of the sample group in the Morris water maze showed evident improvement of learning compared to control group at the 11th, 12th, 13th trial of 16 trials, and correct choice number in radial arm maze showed noticeable improvement compared to the control group at 3rd, 4th and 5th; In the memory test, the memory score of the sample group showed evident improvement compared to the control group. From the above results, the administration of Guibitang, which tonifies the function of the Spleen, could enhance the ability of learning and memory. So it was suggested that the Spleen has a relation with learning and memory.

심근경색증 초발 환자들의 질병관련 지식과 교육요구도 (The knowledge and Learning Needs of the Patients with the First Onset Myocardial Infarction)

  • In order to assess the knowledge and learning needs. 72 patients with the first onset myocardial infarction were interviewed by the structured questionnaires during the period of September, 1999 to July, 2000. The results were as follows 1. As a whole. $57.9\%$ of patient had correct knowledge in relation to myocardial infarction. As for the knowledge score in terms of general characteristics, the patients who were in higher education and living with spouse were significantly higher point than those who were in lower education and living alone. 2. The mean scores of learning need of the subjects was 4.13 measured by Likert 5 point scale, No significant differences were shown in the score of learning need in terms of the general characteristics. As for the learning need according to domain, the subjects had higher leaning needs in the domain of diet, risk factors and activity and exercise. 3. There was no significant correlation between the learning need and the knowledge of myocardial infarction. The results of finding show that education program should be consider the general characteristics. the level of knowledge and learning needs of the myocardial infarction patients.

  • 본 연구는 직업교육의 내실화를 위하여 교수·학습능력 신장에 기초가 되는 직업기초능력 향상 프로그램 및 콘텐츠 개발에 그 목적이 있다. 특히, 직업기초능력 영역 중 e-Learning 콘텐츠로 개발하였을 때 효과적일 것으로 관련전문가들이 합의한 자기개발능력을 개발하였다. 자기개발능력은 업무를 추진할 때 스스로를 관리하고 개발하는 능력으로 이 연구에서는 직업과 자기개발, 자기관리 능력으로 프로그램을 구성하여, 사례분석을 중심으로 한 문제해결능력 향상에 초점을 두고, 동영상과 시뮬레이션, 게임 등의 멀티미디어적 전략을 활용하여 e-Learning 콘텐츠를 개발하였다.

간호학생의 임상수행능력과 관련요인 -문제중심학습을 한 대상자를 중심으로- (The Clinical Competence and Related Factors of the Nursing Students: Focused on the Subjects who studied Problem-Based Learning)

  • Purpose: This study was to evaluate clinical competence in relation to self-directed learning, critical thinking disposition, and participating in PBL(Problem-Based Learning) group activities of nursing students. Methods: Data were collected from 108 nursing students in Oct. 2006. Results: Clinical competence had a significant positive correlation with self-directed learning, critical thinking disposition, and participation in PBL group activities. There was a significant difference in clinical competence according to interpersonal relationship. Participation in PBL group activities was the most influential factor of clinical competence($R^2$=.34). Also, the influence of clinical competence increased with the addition of self-directed learning($R^2$=.42). Conclusion: It is essential to encourage the self-directed learning and participation in PBL group activities for the improvement of clinical competence. It is relatively important for clinical competence to consider the educational environment systematically.

소프트웨어 교육에서 플립 러닝이 학습동기 및 학습만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Flipped-Learning on Learning Motivation and Class Satisfaction in Software Education)

  • 본 연구는 대학교 소프트웨어 교육에 플립러닝(flipped learning)을 적용하였을 때 학습자의 학습동기 및 학습만족도에 미치는 영향에 대하여 연구하였다. 이를 위해 소프트웨어 수업 수강생 100명을 대상으로 실험집단과 비교집단으로 나누어 한 학기 동안 수업을 실시하였으며, 실험집단은 플립러닝을 비교집단은 전통적인 면대면 수업을 진행하였다. 그 결과 플립러닝기반 소프트웨어 교육은 전통적인 수업 방식과 비교해 학습동기가 강한 것으로 나타났으며 학습만족도에도 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 학습동기에서는 하위요인인 주의 집중, 중요성의 인식, 자신감 생성의 측면에서 모두 유의한 차이가 있었으며, 학습만족도의 하위요인인 문제해결수월성, 수업방법에 대한 반응, 교과내용 이해도, 수업에의 흥미, 교사와의 관계 요인에서도 모두 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 따라서 문제해결 또는 창의적 교육에 플립러닝을 적용하면 학습효과 증진을 도모할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

A Critical Analysis of Learning Technologies and Informal Learning in Online Social Networks Using Learning Analytics

  • This paper presents a critical analysis of the current application of big data in higher education and how Learning Analytics (LA), and Educational Data Mining (EDM) are helping to shape learning in higher education institutions that have applied the concepts successfully. An extensive literature review of Learning Analytics, Educational Data Mining, Learning Management Systems, Informal Learning and Online Social Networks are presented to understand their usage and trends in higher education pedagogy taking advantage of 21st century educational technologies and platforms. The roles of and benefits of these technologies in teaching and learning are critically examined. Imperatively, this study provides vital information for education stakeholders on the significance of establishing a teaching and learning agenda that takes advantage of today's educational relevant technologies to promote teaching and learning while also acknowledging the difficulties of 21st-century learning. Aside from the roles and benefits of these technologies, the review highlights major challenges and research needs apparent in the use and application of these technologies. It appears that there is lack of research understanding in the challenges and utilization of data effectively for learning analytics, despite the massive educational data generated by high institutions. Also due to the growing importance of LA, there appears to be a serious lack of academic research that explore the application and impact of LA in high institution, especially in the context of informal online social network learning. In addition, high institution managers seem not to understand the emerging trends of LA which could be useful in the running of higher education. Though LA is viewed as a complex and expensive technology that will culturally change the future of high institution, the question that comes to mind is whether the use of LA in relation to informal learning in online social network is really what is expected? A study to analyze and evaluate the elements that influence high usage of OSN is also needed in the African context. It is high time African Universities paid attention to the application and use of these technologies to create a simplified learning approach occasioned by the use of these technologies.

학습기능을 사용한 MIMO 퍼지추론 방식 (MIMO Fuzzy Reasoning Method using Learning Ability)

  • Z. cao는 Relation matrix를 사용한 정밀한 추론이 가능한 NFRM(New fuzzy reasoning method)을 제안하였다. 이는 추론의 규칙 수가 적음에도 불구하고 Mamdani의 퍼지추론 방식에 비하여 좋은 성능을 보였다. 그러나 대부분의 퍼지스템의 경우, MIMO 시스템에 적용시 피지추론규칙을 도출해 내기 힘들고 많은 규칙의 수가 요구되는 단점을 갖는다. 그러므로 본 연구자에 의하여 과거에 Z. Cao's의 퍼지추론 방법을 MIMO 시스템으로 확장된 MIMO 퍼지추론 방식을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서는 제안된 퍼지추론 방식의 relation matrix를 시행착오법에 의해 소요되는 많은 시간과 노력을 줄이고, 더욱 정밀한 추론 성능의 개선을 위하여 경사감소학습법을 사용한 학습기능을 갖는 MIMO 퍼지추론 방식을 제안하고자 한다. 모의실험은 2축 로봇의 역기구학 문제를 푸는데 적용하여 제안된 추론방식이 좋은 성능을 보였다.

  • Design of an intelligent controller for efficient control in smart building is one of the effective technologies to reduce energy consumption by reducing response time with keeping comfortable level for inhabitants. In this paper, we focus on how to find major parameters in order to enhance the ability of HVAC(heating, ventilation, air conditioning) PID controller. For the purpose of that, we use machine learning technologies for tuning HVAC devices. We show the simulation results to illustrate the behavioral relation of whole system and each control parameter while learning process.

Instructional Planning in Online Universities in Korea: Considering Student Stressors and Demographic Variables

  • The present study explores how the stress of online learners is related to Korean cultural norms and social expectation and presents the criteria online education should aim at when designing instructional approaches. A sample of 176 students from a Korean online university participated in a study investigating the patterns in the academic and personal stressors they face. This study also examines stressor types in relation to sample characteristics, analyzed with a categorization method developed by extant researchers on the stress faced by U.S. college students. Unlike the findings of previous studies on college student stress, this study's results reveal that nontraditional Korean online students were faced with (1) taking on the multiple roles at work and home prescribed by cultural and social norms, and (2) challenges in regulating study habits and the learning environment as adult learners. The relevant implications for the design of online learning are discussed.
