Two-wheeler Detection System using Histogram of Oriented Gradients based on Local Correlation Coefficients and Curvature

  • Vulnerable road users such as bike, motorcycle, small automobiles, and etc. are easily attacked or threatened with bigger vehicles than them. So this paper suggests a new approach two-wheelers detection system riding on people based on modified histogram of oriented gradients (HOGs) which is weighted by curvature and local correlation coefficient. This correlation coefficient between two variables, in which one is the person riding a bike and other is its background, can represent correlation relation. First, we extract edge vectors using the curvature of Gaussian and Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) which includes gradient information and differential magnitude as cell based. And then, the value, which is calculated by the correlation coefficient between the area of each cell and one of bike, can be used as the weighting factor in process for normalizing the HOG cell. This paper applied the Adaboost algorithm to make a strong classification from weak classification. The experimental results validate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm show higher than that of the traditional method and under challenging, such as various two-wheeler postures, complex background, and even conclusion.

Study on Heat Transfer and Fouling of Flow Boiling Systems using Oxidized Graphene Nanofluid (유동 비등 시스템에서 산화 그래핀 나노유체의 열전달 및 파울링에 대한 연구)

  • The nanofluids are the fluids with excellent thermal property, it is expected as a working fluid of the next generation. The nanofluids are well known that if it is used in the boiling heat transfer system, the critical heat flux is enhanced up to 200%, and the thermal conductivity is increased up to from 10 to 160%. However, the fouling phenomenon can be occurred that nanoparticles of nanofluids are deposited on the heat transfer surface. Therefore, to investigate relation between nanofluid and fouling, this study is carried out using oxidized graphene nanofluid. Also it compared and analyzed the critical heat flux and the boiling heat transfer coefficient. As the result, in case of oxidized graphene deposition for fouling, the critical heat flux is increased up to 20% more than oxdized graphene nanofluid. However, the boiling heat transfer coefficient is decreased down to about $6kW/m^2K$ at $1,000kW/m^2$ more than pure water.

Reliability and Validity on Oswestry Low Back Pain Disability Index(OLBPDI) in Patients with Low Back Pain (일부 요통환자를 대상으로 한 OLBPDI의 신뢰도 및 타당도)

  • Purpose : his study was to analyze the reliability and validity on Oswestry Low Back Pain Disability Index (OLBPDI) in patients with low back pain. Methods : The sample consisted of 211 patients who had received treatments at the physical therapy units of 3 medical institutions from February to December 2008 in Andong city. Questionnaires on the OLBPDI were recruited by 6 physical therapists. The internal structure and reliability of the scales were evaluated by means of item-internal consistency(Cronbach's alpha coefficient:${\alpha}$), item-discriminant validity, Pearson's relation coefficient. Results : An average of patients's age was 41.1 years. The range of OLBPDI subscales were .93~.94 in Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. The internal consistency reliability of total item-each item were also internally consistent with Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ range of .94~.95(Pearson's correlation coefficient range: .62~.89). However, high correlation were obtained among 10 items(.67~.83), therefore the item-discriminant validity was a little low. Conclusion: In conclusion, the results reported here confirm the reliability of the OLBPDI scales in patients with low back pain. The collection of information on the level of disability due to low back pain using this instrument was acceptable to patients. A further prospective multi-center study will be necessary to prove the reliability and validity.

  • Chemical mechanical polishing(CMP) process was studied in terms of tribology in this paper. CMP performed by the down force and the relative motion of pad and wafer with the slurry is typically tribological system composed of friction, wear and lubrication. The piezoelectric quartz sensor for friction force measurement was installed and the friction force was detected during CMP process. Various coefficient of friction was attained and analyzed with the kind of pad, abrasive and the abrasive concentration. The lubrication regime is also classified with ${\eta}v/p(\eta,\;v\;and\;p;$ the viscosity, relative velocity and pressure). Especially, the co-relation not only between the friction force and the removal per unit distance but also between the coefficient of friction and within-wafer-nonuniformity was estimated.

Active Days around Solar Minimum and Solar Cycle Parameter

  • Utilizing a new version of the sunspot number and group sunspot number dataset available since 2015, we have statistically studied the relationship between solar activity parameters describing solar cycles and the slope of the linear relationship between the monthly sunspot numbers and the monthly number of active days in percentage (AD). As an effort of evaluating possibilities in use of the number of active days to predict solar activity, it is worthwhile to revisit and extend the analysis performed earlier. In calculating the Pearson's linear correlation coefficient r, the Spearman's rank-order correlation coefficient rs, and the Kendall's τ coefficient with the rejection probability, we have calculated the slope for a given solar cycle in three different ways, namely, by counting the spotless day that occurred during the ascending phase and the descending phase of the solar cycle separately, and during the period corresponding to solar minimum ± 2 years as well. We have found that the maximum solar sunspot number of a given solar cycle and the duration of the ascending phase are hardly correlated with the slope of a linear function of the monthly sunspot numbers and AD. On the other hand, the duration of a solar cycle is found to be marginally correlated with the slope with the rejection probabilities less than a couple of percent. We have also attempted to compare the relation of the monthly sunspot numbers with AD for the even and odd solar cycles. It is inconclusive, however, that the slopes of the linear relationship between the monthly group numbers and AD are subject to the even and odd solar cycles.

  • A valve assembly used in nuclear power plants must be qualified and supervised. New technical standards such as ASME QME-1 2007 particularly require detailed qualification using experiment and analysis. Particularly, diagnostic tests and engineering studies are required for qualification of ASME QME-1 2007. Among these studies, the research on the measurement of friction coefficient and packing stress is important. The irregular change of packing stress along the stroke distance occurs because of the abnormal phenomenon, which must be found and studied with quantitative methods. Packing stress should be analyzed conservatively through experimentation and analysis. In this study, various formulas were applied to measure and calculate coefficient of friction and packing stress. This study can be used in relation to qualification and supervision of packing materials. And the calculation using static diagnosis test can be used to find the packing frictional force in dynamic diagnosis test with flow pressure in a pipe. This study has made it possible to reliably consider packing frictional force generated in a valve body. And so, it is believed that more margin can be secured when evaluating the capacity of valve actuator by applying the accurate frictional force generated in the valve assembly.

A Study on the Effect of MBTI (Myers and Briggs Type Indicator) Basic Program on the Interpersonal Relationship Between Nursing Science Major Students and Their Cohesion (MBTI 기본 프로그램이 간호대학생의 대인관계와 집단응집력에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is intended to suggest fundamental data necessary for developing MBTI program that can help improve interpersonal relation skills of nursing science major students and their cohesion. This study is pre-experimental research by one group pretest-post test design to examine the effect of MBTI(Myers and Briggs Type Indicator) basic program on the interpersonal relationship between nursing science major students and their group cohesion and the relationship between interpersonal relationship and their group cohesion. I selected 39 of sophomore students in the department nursing science of K university in I metropolitan city as test group. 35 of them joined post-test. Pretest and MBTI basic program were done before conducting MBTI program. Collected data were analyzed by SPSS window 7.5. The difference in test group before and after conducting program was examined by paired t-test. The correlation between interpersonal relationship and group cohesion was measured by using Pearson Correlation Coefficient. The findings are as follows. $\cdot$ The difference before and after conducting MBTI program by sub-factors of interpersonal relation: There was no significant difference, as the average figure of interpersonal relation in test group was 87.22 before conducting MBTI and 85.08 after conducting MBTI respectively. The average figure of sensitivity among the sub-factors of interpersonal relation was 7.71 before conducting MBTI and reduced to 7.08 after conducting MBTI and there was significant difference between before and after conducting MBTI(t=-2.484, p=.018) $\cdot$ The difference in group cohesion before and after conducting MBTI program: The average figure of group cohesion in test group was 56.68 before conducting MBTI and increased a bit to 56.80 after conducting MBTI\, but there was no significant difference between them. $\cdot$ The relationship between interpersonal relationship and group cohesion before and after conducting MBTI: As the relationship between interpersonal relationship and group cohesion before and after conducting MBTI is examined, there was positive correlation of the significance level. p<.05 before conducting MBTI(r=.320, p=.047), and of the significance level, p<.01 after conducting MBTI(r=.780, p=.000). The investigation on the relation between sub-factors of group cohesion and of interpersonal relation before conducting MBTI basic program revealed that there was positive correlation between openness, reliability, friendliness and satisfaction, and group intervention, between receptivity among group members and reliability, and between group atmosphere and satisfaction. The investigation on the relation between sub-factors of group cohesion and of interpersonal relation after conducting MBTI basic program revealed that there was positive correlation between openness, communication, understanding, friendliness and satisfaction. and group intervention. There was positive correlation between receptivity among group members and openness, communication, understanding, friendliness and satisfaction. There was positive correlation between openness, communication, friendliness and satisfaction, and group atmosphere. Based on the above findings, I realize that MBTI basic program is essential to the improvement of group cohesion. In addition, it is shown that the sub-factors of interpersonal relation such as openness, communication, friendliness, satisfaction, and understanding, and the sub-factors such as group intervention and receptivity among group members are major factors to improve interpersonal relationship and group cohesion. So, the future MBTI program should include sub-programs that deal with the above factors to improve interpersonal relationship and group cohesion.

  • For a smoothly bounded n-connected domain $\Omega$ in C, we get a formula representing the relation between the Szego" kernel associated with $\Omega$ and holomorphic mappings obtained from harmonic measure functions. By using it, we show that the coefficient of the above holomorphic map is zero in doubly connected domains.

  • The computational speed of interior point method of linear programming depends on the speed of Cholesky factorization. If the coefficient matrix A has dense columns then the matrix A.THETA. $A^{T}$ becomes a dense matrix. This causes Cholesky factorization to be slow. We study an efficient implementation method of the dense column splitting among dense column resolving technique and analyze the relation between dense column splitting and order methods to improve the sparsity of Cholesky factoror.

A Measure of marital Intimacy (부부간 친밀간 척도개발에 관한 연구)

  • The first purpose of this study was to review literatures on marital intimacy. The second purpose was to develop a theory-derived scale to measure marital intimacy. From an original lists of 32 items developed from literatures, the survey was practiced. The data were collected from 344 married adults who had been married more than 5 years. Through this process, a final lists of 19 item scale that were covering 4 different aspects of affectional, sexual, committed, cognitive marital intimacy yielded. reliability estimate assessed by Cronbach's coefficient is .903. Content Validity was evidenced by jury logical opinions. Construct Validity was tested in relation to Spanier's DAS scale.
