  • The effectiveness of genetic markers on Hanwoo traceability systems was applied and evaluated from Korean 33 Hanwoo elite sire families. Five microsatellite markers were selected finally, which were located on chromosomes different chromosomes with the end sequencing of 100 HW-YUBAC that were recorded in the NCBI by Yeungnam University. Eleven major microsatellite markers were selected from allele amplified, their frequencies, H(Heterozygosity) and PIC(Polymorphism information content) with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Next, in order to evaluate the power of the markers selected on the individual animal identification with experimental condition, the match probability(MP) and the relatedness coefficient(R) were computed.

  • To apply and evaluate the effectiveness of genetic markers on Hanwoo traceability systems, samples of 33 Hanwoo individuals from Korean elite sire families were used, and five microsatellite markers were selected finally, which were located on chromosomes different chromosomes with the end sequencing of 100 HW-YUBAC that were recorded in the NCBI by Yeungnam University. Ten major microsatellite markers were selected from alleles amplified, their frequencies, H(Heterozygosity) and PIC(Polymorphism information content) with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Next, in order to evaluate the power of the markers selected on the individual animal identification, the match probability(MP) and the relatedness coefficient(R) were computed.

  • It is argued in this paper that, in determining semantic similarity, Korean words should be recategorized with a focus on the semantic relation to ontology in light of cross-linguistic morphological variations. It is proposed, in particular, that Korean semantic similarity should be measured on three tracks, human judgements track, relatedness track, and cross-part-of-speech relations track. As demonstrated in Yang et al. (2015), GloVe, the unsupervised learning machine on semantic similarity, is applicable to Korean with its performance being compared with human judgement results. Based on this compatability, it was further thought that the model's performance might most likely vary with different kinds of specific relations in different languages. An attempt was made to analyze them in terms of two major Korean-specific categories involved in their lexical and cross-POS-relations. It is concluded that languages must be analyzed by varying methods so that semantic components across languages may allow varying semantic distance in the vector space models.

  • Genetic relatedness of medically important Exophiala species such as E. dermatitidis, E. mansonii, and three E. jeanselmei varieties: jeanselmei, lecanii-corni, and heteromorpha was examined using PCR-RFLP(restriction fragment length polymorphism) of ribosomal DNA, M-13, $(GTG)_5$ and nucleotide sequences of ribosomal ITS(internal transcribed space) II regions. Three E. jeanselmei varieties showing distinct band patterns for each DNA markers as well as different nucleotide sequences of ribosomal ITS II regions could be considered as a separate species. E. dermatitidis and E. mansonii demonstrated the identical band patterns of RFLP of ribosomal DNA, M-13, and $(GTG)_5$ markers. However, nucleotides sequences of ribosomal ITS II region were different between these two species.

  • In just-in-time production systems, U-shaped production lines rather than traditional straight lines are often adopted since they have some advantages. The advantages of U-lines over straight lines are that the workstations required can be reduced and the necessary number of workers can be easily adjusted when the demand rates are changed. In this paper, we present a new genetic algorithm(GA) to minimize the number of workstations primarily and improve the work relatedness secondarily in the U-line production systems. Also, a new heuristic method is presented according to the work related factors and characteristics of U-line balancing. Some major aspects of the proposed GA are discussed, with emphasis on representation, decoding and evaluation function. Extensive experiments are carried out on well-known test-bed problems in the literature to verify the performance of our algorithm . The computational results show that our algorithm is a promising alternative to existing heuristics.

  • A strain of Leptospira interrogans(UM-19) was isolated in 1984 from a patient with epidemic pulmonary hemorrhagic fever. The bacteria has been characterized morphologically by a polymorphism showing spiral forms, short and long rods in culture. In order to study the biological relatedness among these forms of the bacteria, the short rods were separated from others by means of continuous sucrose density gradient centrifugation, and cultured at various temperatures such as $10^{\circ}C$, $15^{\circ}C$, $30^{\circ}C$ and $37^{\circ}C$. It was revealed that cultivation or subcultivation of the short rods has resulted in morphological changes observed by darkfield examination, silver stain, and scanning electron microscope showing spiral forms as well as short and long rods.

  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa accounts for a significant proportion of nosocomial infections. This study examined the antimicrobial susceptibility pattern and clonal relatedness of P. aeruginosa isolates of clinical and environmental origin. These isolates displayed susceptibility to levofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, gentamicin, imipenem, and ceftazidime of 65.0%, 62.5%, 90.0%, 100%, and 85%, respectively. PCR-RAPD analysis of the P. aeruginosa isolates revealed marked variation. No correlation was observed between the antibiotic resistance profiles and the DNA typing patterns.

  • With a recent rise of various chatbot services, this study attempts to explore the role of chatbot users'' psychological characteristics by applying the self-determination theory. In particular, this study investigates (a) the relationship between chatbot users' psychological needs(perceived autonomy, perceived competence, perceived relatedness) and user satisfaction, continuous intention to use, and (b) the moderating effect of chatbot type and user motivations. Based upon a survey, the results revealed that perceived autonomy, competence, and relatedness had significant positive effects on user satisfaction and continuous intention to use. The results also confirmed that the user satisfaction had a significant positive effect on the continuous intention to use. The moderating effect of social and relational motivation was found between perceived autonomy, competence, relatedness and user satisfaction. The implications are discussed for furthering the development of chatbot services.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the perceptions of local residents towards the impact of Geumsan ginseng festival. This study was trying to examine the perception differences between groups of resident by tourism relatedness. Self-administered questionnaire survey was administered for the Geumsan residents. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, regression analysis, and t-test was administered for the perception differences. Using social exchange theory, it was revealed that tourism relatedness was relatively useful to test the perceptions differences of residents towards festival impacts. Tourism related residents perceived positive impacts more strongly and negative impacts Jess strongly compare to non related residents. The result suggested that residents' perception of festival impacts was dependent on the level of tourism relatedness and implications are drawn for community tourism policy and management.
