Predicting factors of post-stroke depression were investigated. The subjects were 254 stroke patients who had been discharged and visited regularly the outpatient clinic for follow up care. The influencing factors were classified into five categories : demographic, disease-related, current state, social support, and illness intrusiveness. Sex, age, job, and educational level were defined as the demographic factor. The disease-related factors included stroke type, illness duration, attack frequency, and NIH score. ADL, cognitive function, and social activity were considered as the current state factors. The social support was measured as the perceived amount of social support. Illness intrusiveness means the perceived illness induced life style disruptions. Demographic, disease-related, current state, and social support were hypothesized to directly and indirectly affect post-stroke depression through illness intrusiveness. The illness intrusiveness was hypothesized to directly affect post-stroke depression. The hierarchial multiple regression was used to identify significant factors. The result showed that this model explained 43.3% of variance of post-stroke depression. And the prevalence of post-stroke depression was 38.8%. Among the demographic factors, job was identified as a main contributor to indirectly increase the post-stroke depression. Among the disease-related factors, stroke type, attack frequency, and NIH score were found to indirectly affect the post-stroke depression. Among the current state factors, ADL and social activity indirectly affected the post-stroke depression through illness intrusiveness. Social support and illness intrusiveness were identified to directly affect the post-stroke depression. This study has proved the factors likely to be implicated in the development of post-stroke depression. Based upon these results, it is recommended that the nurses who take care of post-stroke patients consider the risk factors such as social support, illness intrusiveness et al. Also programs which decrease the illness intrusiveness and increase the social support to reduce post-stoke depression recommended to be developed.
Several types of pain occur following spinal cord injury (SCI); however, neuropathic pain (NP) is one of the most intractable. Invasive and non-invasive brain stimulation techniques have been studied in clinical trials to treat chronic NP following SCI. The evidence for invasive stimulation including motor cortex and deep brain stimulation via the use of implanted electrodes to reduce SCI-related NP remains limited, due to the small scale of existing studies. The lower risk of complications associated with non-invasive stimulation, including transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), provide potentially attractive alternative central neuromodulation techniques. Compared to rTMS, tDCS is technically easier to apply, more affordable, available, and potentially feasible for home use. Accordingly, several new studies have investigated the efficacy of tDCS to treat NP after SCI. In this review, articles relating to the mechanisms, clinical efficacy and safety of tDCS on SCI-related NP were searched from inception to December 2019. Six clinical trials, including five randomized placebo-controlled trials and one prospective controlled trial, were included for evidence specific to the efficacy of tDCS for treating SCI-related NP. The mechanisms of action of tDCS are complex and not fully understood. Several factors including stimulation parameters and individual patient characteristics may affect the efficacy of tDCS intervention. Current evidence to support the efficacy of utilizing tDCS for relieving chronic NP after SCI remains limited. Further strong evidence is needed to confirm the efficacy of tDCS intervention for treating SCI-related NP.

The tin-lead alloy was electrodeposited in the low range of peak current density in order to investigate the change of composition and microstructure of them. The Pb content of alloy deposits, which was decreased with increasing average current density, was relatively lower than that of D.C. plated alloy deposit. The preferred orientation of alloy deposit was changed with increasing peak current density and the surface morphology of alloy deposits was closely related to the preferred orientation of them.

Depending on the operating characteristics, track circuit is installed for the purpose of direct or indirect control of the signal device, point switch machine and other security device. These are mainly used for train detection, transmission of information, broken rail detection and transmission of return current. Especially, the return current is related to signal system, power system and catenary line, and track circuit systems. It is one of the most important component shall be dealt for the safety of track side staff and for the protection of railway-related electrical system according to electrification. Therefore, an accurate analysis of the return current is needed to prevent the return current unbalance and the system induced disorder and failure due to an over current condition. Also, if the malfunction occurred by the return current harmonics, it can cause problems including train operation interruption. In this paper, we presented measurement and analysis method at return current and it's harmonics by high speed train operation on the honam high speed line.

Current lead is one of the first proposed devices for the application of High Temperature-Superconductor(HTSC). The current lead provides high current for electrical machine using superconductor from room temperature. Its characteristics that is zero resistance and low heat transfer rate under critical temperature lead to research for the replacement of existing current lead with HTSC. In this paper, we investigated the temperature distributions of stacking type and rod type current lead with each cross-section area and length using Nastran program and compared each temperature distribution. It is obtained from this paper that stacking type current lead has flat temperature gradient and than rod type one and more stable operation as current lead is closely related with its cross-section area and length.

The superconducting transmission cable is one of interesting part in power application using high temperature superconducting wire. One important parameter in HTS cable design is transport current sharing because it is related with current transmission capacity and loss. In this paper, we calculate self inductances of each layer and mutual inductances between two layers from magnetic field energy, and current sharing of each layer for 4-layer cable using the electric circuit model which contain inductance and resistance (by joint and AC loss). Also, transport current losses which are calculated by monoblock model and Norris equation are compared. As a results, outer layer has always larger transport current than inner layer, and current capacity of each layer is largely influenced by resistance per unit cable length. As a conclusion, for high current uniformity and low AC loss, we have to decrease inductances themselves or those differences.

An effective way to ensure that LEDs produce wanted light output is to use a current driving topology, because the brightness of LEDs is directly related to their current. However, this topology may lead to the lifetime shortening of a illumination system because over-currents may flow through non-damaged LEDs in case some LEDs are damaged. This paper presents an adaptive current control circuits for LEDs, which protect LEDs in a good state by limiting the driving currents according to the number of damaged ones. The proposed control circuits consist of a simple constant-current driver and a micro-controller which monitors the voltage of LED array without any auxiliary current sensors for fault diagnosis. And the driving current is automatically controlled into 6-levels according to the number of failures.

Poly-silicon thin film transistors were fabricated on quartz substrates by high temperature processes. Electrical characteristics were measured and compared for 3 transistor structures of Standard Inverted Gate(SIG), Lightly Doped Drain(LDD), and Dual Gate(DG). Leakage currents of DG and LDD TFT's were smaller that od SIG transistor, while ON-current of LDD transistor is much smaller than that of SIG and DG transistors. Temperature dependence of the leakage currents showed that SIG and DG TFT's had thermal generation current at small drian bias and Frenkel-Poole emission current at hight gate and drain biases, respectively. In case of LDD transistor, thermal generation was the dominant mechanism of leakage current at all bias conditions. It was found that the leakage current was closely related to the reduction of the electric field in the drain depletion region.
This paper presents the results of the ocean surface current velocity estimation using 6 Radarsat-1 SAR images acquired in west coastal area near Incheon. We extracted the surface velocity from SAR images based on the Doppler shift approach in which the azimuth frequency shift is related to the motion of surface target in the radar direction. The Doppler shift was measured by the difference between the Doppler centroid estimated in the range-compressed, azimuth-frequency domain and the nominal Doppler centroid used during the SAR focusing process. The extracted SAR current velocities were statistically compared with the current velocities from the high frequency(HF) radar in terms of averages, standard deviations, and root mean square errors. The problem of the unreliable nominal Doppler centroid for the estimation of the SAR current velocity was corrected by subtracting the difference of averages between SAR and HF-radar current velocities from the SAR current velocity. The corrected SAR current velocity inherits the average of HF-radar data while maintaining high-resolution nature of the original SAR data.
