Dynamic buckling of structure is one of the failure modes that needs to be considered since it may result in catastrophic failure of the structure in a short period of time. For a thin fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) plate under compression, buckling is an inherent hazard which will be intensified by the existence of defects like holes, cracks, and delamination. On the other hand, the growth of the delamination is another prime concern for thin FRP plates. In the current paper, reinforcing the plates against buckling is realized by using SMA wires in the form of stitches. A numerical framework is proposed to simulate the dynamic instability emphasizing the effect of the SMA stitches in suppressing delamination growth. The suggested algorithm is more accurate than the other methods when considering the transformation point of the SMA wires and the modeling of the cohesive zone using simple and yet reliable technique. The computational design of the method by producing the line by line orders leads to a simple algorithm for simulating the super-elastic behavior. The Lagoudas constitutive model of the SMA material is implemented in the form of user material subroutines (VUMAT). The normal bilinear spring model is used to reproduce the cohesive zone behavior. The nonlinear finite element formulation is programmed into FORTRAN using the Newmark-beta numerical time-integration approach. The obtained results are compared with the results obtained by the finite element method using ABAQUS/Explicit solver. The obtained results by the proposed algorithm and those by ABAQUS are in good agreement.

This paper is a basic study to evaluate the possibility of earthquake-resistant reinforcement by reinforcing engineered cementitious composite in masonry members. In order to examine the performance according to the fiber mixing rate of the engineered cementitious composite, a test specimen was prepared according to the formulation design, and flow ability, compressive strength, flexural strength, length change rate, and direct tensile strain were measured. In addition, non-reinforced masonry members, masonry members reinforced with engineered cementitious composite, and masonry members in which glass fibers and wire mesh were separately reinforced with engineered cementitious composites were manufactured, and flexural strength and maximum displacement were measured. All specimens reinforced with engineered cementitious composite showed more than 16 times the effect of maximal strength compared to that of no reinforcement, and as a result of examining the crack shape, the energy dissipation ability was excellent, confirming the possibility of seismic reinforcement.

The problem in the construction of seawall reinforcing the seawall where there is seawater flow is the outflow of materials. Gravity-type pouring of concrete is difficult to fill the voids smoothly, and the cement of concrete that has not hardened is likely to be dispersed in seawater. This phenomenon not only reduces the reliability of quality after concrete hardening, but can also adversely affect the surrounding environment. Therefore, there is a need for a gel-like injection material that can be injected, In this study, the initial strength and durability improvement effect of seawater immersion were evaluated by using electrofurnace reduction slag and blast furnace slag with acute properties. As a result of the experiment, it was possible to prepare a gel-like injection material having flowability through reaction with silica-based chemical liquid. The flowability of the gel is 105~143 mm depending on the formulation, and the on-site simulation test can fill the voids without external leakage, confirming its on-site applicability.
The main goal of this paper is to study the vibration of damaged core laminated annular plates with FG face sheets based on a three-dimensional theory of elasticity. The structures are made of a damaged isotropic core and two external face sheets. These skins are strengthened at the nanoscale level by randomly oriented Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and are reinforced at the microscale stage by oriented straight fibers. These reinforcing phases are included in a polymer matrix and a three-phase approach based on the Eshelby-Mori-Tanaka scheme and on the Halpin-Tsai approach, which is developed to compute the overall mechanical properties of the composite material. In this study the effect of microcracks on the vibrational characteristic of the sandwich plate is considered. In particular, the structures are made by an isotropic core that undergoes a progressive uniform damage, which is modeled as a decay of the mechanical properties expressed in terms of engineering constants. These defects are uniformly distributed and affect the central layer of the plates independently from the direction, this phenomenon is known as "isotropic damage" and it is fully described by a scalar parameter. Three complicated equations of motion for the sectorial plates under consideration are semi-analytically solved by using 2-D differential quadrature method. Using the 2-D differential quadrature method in the r- and z-directions, allows one to deal with sandwich annular plate with arbitrary thickness distribution of material properties and also to implement the effects of different boundary conditions of the structure efficiently and in an exact manner. The fast rate of convergence and accuracy of the method are investigated through the different solved examples. The sandwich annular plate is assumed to have any arbitrary boundary conditions at the circular edges including simply supported, clamped and, free. Several parametric analyses are carried out to investigate the mechanical behavior of these multi-layered structures depending on the damage features, through-the-thickness distribution, and boundary conditions.
The purpose of this study was to verify the moderating effects of the stress coping styles on the effects of internet addiction on the self-esteem of the 2030 generation during the Covid19 period. The 762 samples were selected through an online survey, and the collected data were conducted using the SPSS WIN26.0 program for frequency analysis, correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, Internet addiction had a negative effect on self-esteem, and only seeking social support among the four sub-factors of stress response served as a moderator variable in the relationship between Internet addiction and self-esteem. Based on the results, the followings were suggested: expansion of research subjects regarding Internet addiction and interdisciplinary convergence study, providing universal provision of stress coping management programs, building a community at the local level, and discovery and reinforcing variables that offset the negative role of self-esteem of 2030 generations.

In this study, laboratory test, program analysis, and test construction in the field were performed to utilize Supplementary Cementitious Material (SCM) developed by recycled resources for slope reinforcement as slope improvement material for aging reservoir, and the results were analyzed. As results of the laboratory test, it was analyzed that the mixing ratio of SCM was appropriate by 9 %, and the coef. of permeability was decreased by about 10,000times, indicating a value close to that of the waterproof material applied in Korea. In addition, as a result of program analysis and test construction, it was analyzed that seepage did not occur in the part of reinforced using SCM and showed a higher safety facto r than domestic criteria. Therefore, since it shows sufficient waterproof and reinforcing effects in aging reservoir, it is judged that the slope improvement using SCM can replace the cement for repair and reinforcement method.

The design principles and implementation of rebar lap splice in architectural structures are governed by building regulations. Nevertheless, the minimization of rebar-cutting waste (RCW) is often impeded by the mandatory requirements pertaining to the rebar lapping zone as prescribed in design codes. In real-world construction scenarios, compliance with these rules often falls short due to hurdles concerning productivity, quality, safety, time, and cost. This discrepancy between code stipulations and on-the-ground construction practices necessitates an academic exploration. The goal of this research was to delve into the effect of rebar lap splice placement on the robustness and constructability of building edifices. The study initially took on a review of the computation of rebar lapping length and the rules revolving around the lapping zone. Following this, a structural robustness and constructability examination was undertaken, focusing on adherence to the lap splice zone. The interpretations and deductions of the research led to the following insights: (1) the efficacy of rebar lap splice is not solely contingent on the moment, and (2) the implementation of rebar lap splice beyond the specified zone can match the structural integrity and robustness of those confined within the designated area. As a result, the constraints on the rebar lapping zone ought to be revisited and possibly relaxed. The conclusions drawn from this research are anticipated to reconcile the disconnect between building codes and practical construction conditions, furnishing invaluable academic substantiation to further the endeavor of achieving near-zero RCW.
This paper investigates strength characteristics and stress-strain behaviors of geogrid mixing reinforced lightweight soil. The lightweight soil was reinforced with geogrid in order to increase its compressive strength. Test specimens were fabricated by various mixing conditions including cement content, initial water content, air content and geogrid layer and then unconfined compression tests were carried out. From the experimental results, it was found that unconfined compressive strength as well as stress-strain behavior of lightweight soil was strongly influenced by mixing conditions. The more cement content that is added to the mixture, the greater its unconfined compressive strength. However, the more initial water content or the more air foam content, the less its unconfined compressive strength. It was observed that the compressive strength of reinforced lightweight soil increased reinforcing effect by the geogrid for most cases. Stress-strain relation of geogrid mixing reinforced lightweight soil showed a ductile behavior rather than a brittle behavior. In reinforced lightweight soil, secant modulus ($E_{50}$) also increased as its compressive strength increased due to the inclusion of geogrid.
This study reviewed the liquefaction reinforcement and ground reinforcement methods widely used domestically and abroad through construction method characteristics and analyzed the economic feasibility and reinforcement efficiency of each reinforcement method. The analysis results were used to evaluate the applicability of the appropriate reinforcement method for the liquefaction reinforcement of new and existing structures. As a result of evaluating the applicability of the reinforcement method based on the economic feasibility and reinforcement effect of each reinforcement method, the compaction method, which secures the construct ability by applying large equipment, is advantageous when reinforcing a new structure, and the low-fluidity mortar injection method (C.G.S method) and the high-pressure injection method (J.S.P method) are considered appropriate in the existing structure.

Carbon nanotubes reinforced copper matrix laminated nanocomposites were developed and the mechanical properties were evaluated by using micro-tensile testing system. Sandwich-type laminated structure constituted with carbon nanotube layers as a reinforcement and electroplated copper matrix were fabricated by a new processing approach based on selective dip-coating of carbon nanotubes. The mechanical properties of nanocomposites were improved due to an enhanced load sharing capacity of carbon nanotubes homogeneously distributed within the in-plane direction, as well as a bridging effect of carbon nanotubes along the out-of-plane direction between the upper and lower matrices. The universality of the layering approach is applicable to a wide range of functional materials, and here we demonstrate its potential use in reinforcing composite materials.
