In this study, vibration analysis of a concrete foundation-reinforced by $SiO_2$ nanoparticles resting on soil bed is investigated. The soil medium is simulated with spring constants. Furthermore, the Mori-Tanaka low is used for obtaining the material properties of nano-composite structure and considering agglomeration effects. Using third order shear deformation theory or Reddy theory, the total potential energy of system is calculated and by means of the Hamilton's principle, the coupled motion equations are obtained. Also, based an analytical method, the frequency of system is calculated. The effects of volume percent and agglomeration of $SiO_2$ nanoparticles, soil medium and geometrical parameters of structure are shown on the frequency of system. Results show that with increasing the volume percent of $SiO_2$ nanoparticles, the frequency of structure is increased.
The project focuses on the dynamic analysis of concrete beams reinforced with silica-nanoparticles under blast loading. The structure is located at two boundary conditions. The equivalent composite properties are determined using Mori-Tanak model. The structure is simulated with sinusoidal shear deformation theory. Employing nonlinear strains-displacements, stress-strain, the energy equations of beam were obtained and using Hamilton's principal, the governing equations were derived. Using differential quadrature methods (DQM) and Newmark method, the dynamic deflection of the structure is obtained. The influences of volume percent and agglomeration of silica nanoparticles, geometrical parameters of beam, boundary condition and blast load on the dynamic deflection were investigated. Results showed that with increasing volume percent of silica nanoparticles, the dynamic deflection decreases.
Precast reinforced concrete structure (PRCS) consists of prefabricated members assembled at worksites and has more connections limitations in comparison with the equivalent in-situ reinforced concrete structure (IRCS). As a result of these limitations, PRCSs have less ductility in comparison with IRCSs. Recent studies indicate that the most noticeable failure in PRCSs have occurred in their connection zone. The objective of this study is introducing a type of precast beam-to-column connection (PBC) which in spite of being simple is of the same efficiency and performance as in-situ beam-to-column connection (IBC). To achieve this, the performance of proposed new PBC at exterior joint of a four story PRCS was analyzed by pseudo dynamic analysis and compared with that of IBC in equivalent IRCS. Results indicated that the proposed connection has even better performance in terms of strength, energy dissipation and stiffness, than that of IBC.

Main objective of this study is to examine the hysteretic behaviors and to evaluate the capacity of precast concrete (PC) large panel structures simulated from the prototype of 15-story building, Two 1/2 scaled precast concrete wall specimens and one monolithic reinforced concrete specimen were designed and tested under the cyclic loading conditions. The main parameter of test specimens in PC large panel structure is the type of details for vertical continuity of vertical steel in horizontal joint. Also the behaviors of PC large panel structures are compared with that of monolithic reinforcement concrete wall structure. From the results, the stiffness and energy dissipation ratio of the precast concrete specimens are shown little bit lower than those of monolithic reinforced concrete specimen. In the PC large panel structures, the specimen connected vertically by welding (strong connection) showed higher strength than that of the specimen connected vertically by joint box. However the failure pattern of the former showed more brittle than that of the latter due to the diagonal compressive failure of wall panels.

Recitly, the use of sea-sand is increasing in the construction due to the rapid reduction of river-sand. In that case, one of the major problem is that a sand salt in sea-sand induce the corrosion of embedded reinforcing bar in concrete. In addition, the deterioration of concrete quality arises a social problem in the durability of reinforced concrete. This research is aimed at providing the data for the control of design method of repair and rehabilitation in the reinforced concrete structure by means of the evaluation of structural performance due to corrosion.
This article involves architecting prototype-fuzzy expert system for designing the nominal cover thickness by means of fuzzy inference for quantitatively representing the environment affecting factor to reinforced concrete in chloride-induced corrosion environment. In this work, nominal cover thickness to reinforcement in concrete was determined by the sum of minimum cover thickness and tolerance to that defined from skill level, constructability and the significance of member. Several variables defining the quality of concrete and environment affecting factor (EAF) including relative humidity, temperature, cyclic wet and dry, and the distance from coast were treated as fuzzy variables. To qualify EAF the environment conditions of cycle degree of wet-dry, relative humidity, distance from coast and temperature were used as input variables. To determine the nominal cover thickness a qualified EAF, concrete grade, and watercement ratio were used. The membership functions of each fuzzy variable were generated from the engineering knowledge and intuition based on some references as well as some international codes of practice.
Rebar corrosion in concrete is one of the main causes of reduction of service life of reinforced concrete buildings. This paper presents the influence of rebar corrosion on the structural behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) buildings subjected to strong earthquake ground motion. Different levels of rebar corrosion scenarios were applied on a typical four story RC frame. The deteriorated conditions as a result of these scenarios include loss in cross-sectional area and loss of mechanical properties of the reinforcement bars, loss in bond strength, and loss in concrete strength and its modulus of elasticity. Dynamic analyses of the frame with different corrosion scenarios are performed with selected strong earthquake ground motion records. The influences of degradation in both concrete and reinforcement on structural behavior are investigated by comparing the various parameters of the frame under different corrosion scenarios with respect to each other. The results show that the progressive deterioration of the frame due to rebar corrosion causes serious structural behavior changes such as change in failure mode. The intensity, propagation time, and extensity of rebar corrosion have very important effects on the level of degradation of steel and concrete, as well as on the earthquake behavior of the structure.

The tensile of concrete in one of important factor for study of reinforced concrete as well as prestressed concrete structures. In many countries, a numerous experimental studies are being undertaken to investigate correlation between compressive and tensile strength of concrete. This study is focused on identifying the relationship between the compressive strength and torsional tensile strength of concrete and, on crack of RC and PC structure.
In this study, vibration and stability of concrete pipes reinforced with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) conveying fluid are presented. Due to the existence of CNTs, the structure is subjected to magnetic field. The radial fore induced with fluid is calculated using Navier-Stokes equations. Characteristics of the equivalent composite are determined using Mori-Tanaka model. The concrete pipe is simulated with classical cylindrical shell model. Employing energy method and Hamilton's principal, the motion equations are derived. Frequency and critical fluid velocity of structure are obtained analytically based on Navier method for simply supported boundary conditions at both ends of the pipe. The effects of fluid, volume percent of CNTs, magnetic field and geometrical parameters are shown on the frequency and critical fluid velocity of system. Results show that with increasing volume percent of CNTs, the frequency and critical fluid velocity of concrete pipe are increased.
The success of analyzing the behavior of reinforced concrete structures at elevated temperature greatly depends on how accurately certain thermal properties, especially thermal expansion, specific heat and density thermal conductivity can be determined in a wide temperature range. In this Paper, in order to Predict the behavior of reinforced concrete structure in fire hazards thermal expansion characteristics of normal concrete are formulated through experimental investigation.
