  • This paper presents a register scheduling and allocation algorithm for high level synthesis. The proposed algorithm executes the low power scheduling to reduce the switching activity using shut down technique which was not unnecessary the calculation through the extraction DFG from VHDL description. Also, the register allocation algorithm determines the minimum register after the life time analysis of all variable. It is minimum the switching activity using graph coloring technique for low power consumption. The proposed algorithm proves the effect through various filter benchmark to adopt a new scheduling and allocation algorithm considering the low power.

  • The pitch range of the human voice is variable, extending from chest register to falsetto. Although numerous studies have investigated after laryngeal mechanism description of registers, systematic and objective studies were lack. The purpose of this study was to analyze and compare head register with chest register of singers acoustically. Fifteen healthy tenor major students were selected. Fifteen healthy untrained adults were the control group for this study. Long term average(LTA) power spectrum using the Fast Fourier transform(FFT) algorithm and Linear predictive coding (LPC) filter response were made during /a/ sustained in both head(G4, 392Hz) md chest registers (C3, 131Hz). Statistical analysis was performed using Mann-Whitney test. In the LTA power spectrum, head register of singer has increased level(energy gain) in the frequency band of 2.2-3.4kHz(p<0.01), and 7.5-8.4kHz(p<0.01, p<0.05). Chest register of singer has increased level in the frequency band of 2.2-3.1kHz(p<0.01), 7.8-8.4kHz(p<0.05) and around 9.6kHz(p<0.01). LTA power spectrum reveals a peak of acoustic energy around 2500Hz known as the singer's formant and another peak of acoustic energy around 8000Hz in singer's voice.

  • This paper proposed an optimal register resource allocation algorithm using graph coloring for minimal register at high level synthesis. The proposed algorithm constructed interference graph consist of the intermediated representation CFG to description VHDL. and at interference graph fur the minimal select color selected a position node at stack, the next inserted spill code and the graph coloring process executes for optimal register allocation. The proposed algorithm proves to effect that result compare another allocation techniques through experiments of bench mark.

  • This paper presents a new register transfer level synthesis method to overcome the disadvantages of the previous register transfer level synthesis systems. The previous register transfer level synthesis systems first translate from a hardware description language to sequential circuits inadequately. Secondly, the systems separate registers and combinational circuits and then optimize only combinational circuits. This paper describes their disadvantages and then proposes a new method to overcome their shortcomings. This paper also shows the effectiveness of the proposed method by using the proposed method at designing the controller of a surveillance system and the 8-bit signed multiplier.

  • Embedded processors often accommodate two instruction sets, a standard instruction set and a compressed instruction set. With the compressed instruction set, code size can be reduced while instruction count (and consequently execution time) can be increased. To achieve code size reduction without significant increase of execution time, this paper proposes a new compressed instruction set architecture, called TOE (Two Operations Execution). The proposed instruction set format includes the parallel bit that indicates an instruction can be executed simultaneously with the next instruction. To add the parallel bit, TOE instruction format reduces the destination register field. The reduction of the register field limits the number of registers that are accessible by an instruction. To overcome the limited accessibility of registers, TOE adapts non-homogeneous register partition in which registers are divided into multiple subsets, each of which are accessed by different groups of instructions. With non-homogeneous registers, each instruction can access only a limited number of registers, but an entire program can access all available registers. With efficient non-homogeneous register allocator, all registers can be used in a balanced manner. As a result, the increase of code size due to register spills is negligible. Experimental results show that more than 30% of TOE instructions can be executed in parallel without significant increase of code size when compared to existing Thumb instruction set.

  • The Civil Contingencies Act 2004 in the United Kingdom provides a comprehensive definition of "Emergency", calling upon the Uk's emergency management to deal with any disaster risk regardless of cause or source. Old contingency plans for civil defense and peacetime emergencies have been integrated into current integrated emergency management. In the UK, emergencies are managed by emergency services and other responders at the local level without direct involvement of central government. On top of this, a classified assessment of the risks of civil emergencies is also conducted on a regular basis, not only at the local level but also at the national level. This research looks into the Uk's emergency management system, including recent changes, and its risk assessment systems. Finally, the research draws policy implications for the development of Korea's disaster management mechanism as follows: 1) Korea should adopt an integrated emergency management system and combine civil defense with peacetime emergency planning, 2) it should create inter-operability between emergency responding organizations such as police, fire and ambulance, and finally 3) it must develop risk evaluating tools, such as a Community Risk Register and National Risk Register, both at the local and the national level. Last but not least, the UK emergency management system cannot be directly lifted from the UK and applied to risks and hazards faced by South Korea. Therefore, cross-cultural synthesis of many national approaches to emergency management is further required particularly for customizing policy to the particular needs of Korea.

  • This paper proposes a new minimal resource high-level synthesis algorithm for low power design automation. The proposed algorithm executes an efficient approach to minimize the power consumption of the functional units in a circuit during the high level synthesis. In this paper, we visit all control steps one by one to reduce the switching activity in CDFG. The register sharing algorithm determines the minimum register after the life time analysis of all variable. According to property of input signal for functional unit, the proposed method visits all control step one by one and determines the resource allocation with minimal power consumption at each control step in a greedy fashion. The effect of the proposed algorithm has been proved through various filter benchmark to adopt a new scheduling and allocation algorithm considering the low rover.

  • The Korean Twin Register (n=154,783 pairs) was reported in 2002 as the first nationwide twin study in Korea and the largest study in Asia. The Twin Register has the information of disease outcomes since 1990, and basic clinical and questionnaire data from biennial health examination provided by Korea National Health Service. The author attempted to calculate some of the genetic parameters of cancers in this population. Common cancers in Korea known to have familial aggregation (colon and breast) and cancers of which familial aggregation is unclear (stomach cancer) were examined for their familial recurrence risks. There were 699 stomach cancers, 438 breast and 491 colorectal cancers cases in the twin register between 1991 and 2003. Like-sex twins showed recurrence risks (${\lambda}_{LS}$) of 5.1 (95% CI 3.7-6.9) for stomach cancers, 15.5 (95% CI1 0.9-20.2) for female breast cancers, and 28.1 (95% CI 23.5-34.4) for colon cancers. Colorectal cancers of female like-sex twins show significantly higher familial recurrence risk 40.7 (95% CI 34.6-47.4), suggesting higher genetic contribution in women than in men. The results show increased familial risks compared with previous studies from the same register and are largely compatible with other studies. The data of the Twin Register could be used for estimating population level genetic parameters, as well as base of the various studies.
