Regional Economic Impacts Induced by u-City Construction in Wha-sung and Dong-tan City (u-City 구축사업의 지역경제적 파급효과에 관한 연구)

  • In recent year, the u-City construction projects which integrate IT technology into urban infrastructures are being pushed forward by many local governments. These projects contain various purposes in an aspect of regional economy : to reinforce a competitiveness of region by increasing efficiency of urban managements and to revitalize regional economy by stimulating the regional high-tech industries that related to u-City construction. In this context, regional economic impact assessment of u-City construction projects is particularly important because, it give us information about effectiveness of u-City construction policy as a stimulus of regional high-tech industries and the policy feasibility of u-City construction projects that can be a base of public projects. However, it is challenging to assess the impact of u-City projects on regional economy properly due to a lack of understanding about industrial classification, and specific industrial inputs related to u-City construction. In this study, we suggest u-City industrial classifications, and specific-industrial inputs induced by u-City construction projects based on associated legislations, business report for a u-City construction, and results from previous studies. Using these classification and industrial input, we also investigate the regional economic impacts of a u-City construction project in Wha-sung and Dong-tan cities employing Input-output analysis. The empirical results suggests that u-City industries have relatively high in production inducement, and value added inducement compared to input of other industrial sectors. These results indicate that regional economic impact of a Wha-sung and Dong-tan u-City construction project are relatively high, but economic impacts of u-City construction projects vary according to the regional industrial structure, and the specific expense accounts of u-City construction projects.

An Integrated Region-Related Information Searching System applying of Map Interface and Knowledge Processing (맵 인터페이스와 지식처리를 활용한 지역관련정보 통합검색 시스템)

  • Large portal sites such as Google, NAVER provide Various services based on the map. Thus, interest and demand of users who want to obtain the region-related information has been increased. And services that combine the regional information with the map are provided currently at the large portal sites. However, the existing services of large portal sites do not provide enough detailed information and are inconvenient because acquisition process of related information is repeated. Therefore, the system that enables users to obtain detailed information related on the specific region synthetically and easily is needed. In this paper, we propose a system model using map interface and knowledge-processing in order to build the system that is useful for acquiring regional information. The model consists of 3-Layers: 'Regional Information Web-Documents Layer', 'Unique Regional Information Layer', and "Map-Interface Layer'. The Integrated Region~Related Information Searching System based on the model is implemented through the following 4-steps: (1) extracting the keywords that represent specific region (2) collecting the related web pages (3) extracting a set of related keywords and computing an association between the keywords (4) implementing a user interface. We verified validity on the model we proposed. knowledge-processing algorithm using affinity matrix, and UI that help users conveniently search by applying the system to region of the Goyang City. This system integrates regional information existing merely individual 'information' and provides users the 'knowledge' that is newly produced and organized. Users can obtain various detailed regional information and easily get related information through this system.

  • The Necessity of extending the local library become inevitable because of the swift increasing the volume of information and enlarging the accessibility and increasing the requirements approached to the latest information, caused by continuous development of communication techniques. But these requirements have been concentrated at the quantitative growth to some extent such as an unique and mammoth library at an region or some few independent libraries, never to be considered enough for the users' convinience so that these locational conditions impede the utilization of library As to this matter, this is a basic research what's the best selection of arrangement for establishing public libraries in the future according to the planning regional area and this is the purpose to present a standard of planning regional area in consideration with user's easyaccesibility and also the facilities selecting activities of user's character and set up a planning the basic data about facilities arrangement and space scale before unfolding it's own public service activities of public library as the role of the regional and social information center

  • The article is devoted to studying the development of scientific and methodological work and its impact on the quality of students' vocational training in higher pedagogical education institutions by applying information technology. The article aim is to development of the organizational methodological support and pedagogical diagnostics of the effectiveness of the project «Modelling scientific and methodological work in a higher education pedagogical institution by applying information technology » realization in the framework of increasing the level of scientific and methodological work in a higher education pedagogical institution as a factor contributing to enhancing the quality of pedagogical education. The research program of the project activity envisages stating and substantiating the problem of scientific and methodological work by applying information technology in the framework of increasing the level and quality of educational activities in a higher pedagogical education institution through the implementation of the project approach, developing a model for the system of organizational and methodological support of the project implementation as well as monitoring the process and evaluating the results of the project implementation in terms of developing teachers' scientific, methodological, information competency and enhancing students' progress in studying. The set of criteria were developed to evaluate the level of formation of scientific and methodological competency as a result of implementing the project for the development of scientific and methodological work. The scientific and methodological work by applying information technology in the academy was carried out in accordance with the following principles: systematic character, consistent diagnostics, practical focus, scientific organizational and methodological support.

  • In this study, the first purpose is implementation of Regional Environmental Management System that is applied to the determination and limitation, execution of urban planning using Geographic Information System and the regional environmental problems in Sungnam are analyzed and presented. Also, the class of earth surface needed in the case of development of residing environment management model is determined using land utilization, the relationship of traffic and environment and the technique of residing environment analysis and assessment using regional environmental information is considered.

  • This study examines the impact of national economic restructuring on regional development patterns. Korea's development over the last decade has been characterized by a rapid economic restructuring towards the information economy. This economic restructuring has had significant impacts on regional development patterns. The most remarkable feature is a clear coreperiphery disparity in terms of levels of informatization. Seoul showed an extraordinarily high level of informatization. The process of regional development in the information era is marked by an intensified spatial division of labor, which articulates with the pre-existing pattern of regional disparity. Information infrastructrue improvements for regional development do not necessarily result in reductions in regional unevenness. There is an urgent need to develop the integrated regional informatization strategy.

Types of Home Meal Replacement and Determinants of Consumption in South Korea

  • HMR is a home-style food product designed for convenience and cooked outside the home leaving out cumbersome cooking process and consumed at home. The present paper aims to find out factors that influence the consumption of HMR by analyzing data on food consumption during the 3 years between December 2010 and November 2013. Following the classification of Costa et al. (2001), this study categorized HMR products as 3 types as follows: C1 (ready to eat), C2 (ready to heat) and C3 (ready to cook), and examined factors affecting purchase rate and per capita purchase price for each type of HMR product. The results of our analysis show that only the purchase rate of C3 products was influenced by whether the purchaser was housewife with job or not. For those who do not live together with parents, per capita purchase price for HMR was high; and the more they ate out, the higher the purchase rate of HMR was.

  • This study aimed at analyze the Regional Information of Geumsan-gun, Chung-Nam, Korea. The study area, the Geumsan-gun, is located in $35^{\circ}57'{\sim}36^{\circ}17'N$, $127^{\circ}19'{\sim}127^{\circ}39'E$. The Landforms, and Drainage network were analyzed from topographical maps on 1:25,000 & 1:50,000 and field survey. The Climate, Population, Economy, Transportation and etc. were analyzed from regional statistics. The results are as follows: The Centripetal forces of unit areas are not powerful because Geumsan-gun located contiguity with Daejeon metropolitan city. The accessibility of Geumsangun is good and is available for a site of specialized agriculture area.

  • The purpose of this study is to prove that new values for the agricultural food area can be created by combining various big data collected in the agricultural food area and analyzing them in an appropriate analysis method. For this, the analysis techniques generally used were studied, and the use of the big data in the various areas of the current society was explored through practical application instances. In addition, by the current status and analysis instances of the big data use in the agricultural food area, this study was conducted to verify how the new values found were being used.
