  • The regional trauma center should be a trauma treatment center equipped with facilities, equipments, and manpower capable of providing optimal treatment from emergency surgery to a severely traumatized patient upon arrival at the hospital. In order to establish a medical system for effective severe diseases, it is necessary to prepare architectural planning guidelines for the regional trauma centers. This study analyzes the connectivity, control, integration, and mean depth of current trauma centers using the convex map of space syntax, And to provide basic data for building for more efficient regional trauma center. The major areas that must be included in the regional trauma center are trauma resuscitation room, trauma operating room, trauma intensive care unit, and trauma general ward. It is necessary to carry out the architectural planning to increase the interconnection of the four areas. Also, the elevator plan for trauma patients should be emphasized. In addition, a regional trauma center should be separated from the existing facility for independent operation. According to the case analysis of the space configuration of the regional trauma center, the location of the operating room is most important considering the connection with each department of the hospital and the treatment flow of the severe trauma patients.

  • Malaysian modern housing typologies (such as bungalows, semi-detached houses and terrace houses) are influenced by international style and constitute unique regional characteristics because they are modified in accordance with climatic conditions and unique social, ethnic housing cultures. This research identified unique characteristics and planning principles of how rooms and spaces of a house are related and organized into coherent patterns of form and space. For the analysis, we surveyed twenty-two residential precincts that identified twenty-five unit plan types for landed properties built in Ara Damansara, Malaysia. The methodology adopted in this study consisted of a document review and field surveys. It is difficult to find unique characteristics of space organization (except for the location of bathrooms) because the form of terrace houses is standardized and limited in design from the aspect of space organization. However, the organization of bedroom space and kitchen space has strong regional characteristics that have become stereotyped for semi-Ds and bungalows. General guideline for areas of unit plans are proposed based on the results of area analysis. We also found that the areas of L + D and MB increase as the total area of the house increases; however, the remaining rooms do not increase in area as long as they satisfy appropriate standards due to the addition of multi-purpose extra rooms. This study only examined limited cases in Ara Damansara and it is difficult to generalize the findings of other new towns in Malaysia. Nevertheless, it is worthwhile to collect and systematically organize data according to typologies. Finally, the authors were able to understand the unique regional design factors to be considered for landed property housing planning in Malaysia.

  • According to the Internet Usage Research performed in 2016, the number of internet users and the internet usage have been increasing. Smartphone, compared to the computer, is taking a more dominant role as an internet access device. As the number of smart devices have been increasing, some views that the demand on high-speed internet will decrease; however, Despite the increase in smart devices, the high-speed Internet market is expected to slightly increase for a while due to the speedup of Giga Internet and the growth of the IoT market. As the broadband Internet market saturates, telecom operators are over-competing to win new customers, but if they know the cause of customer exit, it is expected to reduce marketing costs by more effective marketing. In this study, we analyzed the relationship between the cancellation rates of telecommunication products and the factors affecting them by combining the data of 3 cities, Anyang, Gunpo, and Uiwang owned by a telecommunication company with the regional data from KOSIS(Korean Statistical Information Service). Especially, we focused on the assumption that the neighboring areas affect the distribution of the cancellation rates by coupling type, so we conducted spatial cluster analysis on the 3 types of cancellation rates of each region using the spatial analysis tool, SatScan, and analyzed the various relationships between the cancellation rates and the regional data. In the analysis phase, we first summarized the characteristics of the clusters derived by combining spatial information and the cancellation data. Next, based on the results of the cluster analysis, Variance analysis, Correlation analysis, and regression analysis were used to analyze the relationship between the cancellation rates data and regional data. Based on the results of analysis, we proposed appropriate marketing methods according to the region. Unlike previous studies on regional characteristics analysis, In this study has academic differentiation in that it performs clustering based on spatial information so that the regions with similar cancellation types on adjacent regions. In addition, there have been few studies considering the regional characteristics in the previous study on the determinants of subscription to high-speed Internet services, In this study, we tried to analyze the relationship between the clusters and the regional characteristics data, assuming that there are different factors depending on the region. In this study, we tried to get more efficient marketing method considering the characteristics of each region in the new subscription and customer management in high-speed internet. As a result of analysis of variance, it was confirmed that there were significant differences in regional characteristics among the clusters, Correlation analysis shows that there is a stronger correlation the clusters than all region. and Regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between the cancellation rate and the regional characteristics. As a result, we found that there is a difference in the cancellation rate depending on the regional characteristics, and it is possible to target differentiated marketing each region. As the biggest limitation of this study and it was difficult to obtain enough data to carry out the analyze. In particular, it is difficult to find the variables that represent the regional characteristics in the Dong unit. In other words, most of the data was disclosed to the city rather than the Dong unit, so it was limited to analyze it in detail. The data such as income, card usage information and telecommunications company policies or characteristics that could affect its cause are not available at that time. The most urgent part for a more sophisticated analysis is to obtain the Dong unit data for the regional characteristics. Direction of the next studies be target marketing based on the results. It is also meaningful to analyze the effect of marketing by comparing and analyzing the difference of results before and after target marketing. It is also effective to use clusters based on new subscription data as well as cancellation data.

  • In order to develop practical indicator that can diagnose the regional conditions and characteristics of fishing villages, this study reviewed domestic and foreign researches and selected the diagnostic indicator of fishing villages by spatial unit. The major categories are divided into population and society, economic conditions, and living conditions. The middle categories consists of population, household, industry, tourism, settlement, environment, safety, health and welfare, education, and culture and leisure. The indicator were selected with reference to the existence of statistical data officially provided according to the spatial range(Si/Gun, eup/myeon, village). Based on the selected indicator, the test evaluation was conducted in Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do by applying data that can be obtained from KOSIS and web GIS. It is judged that the diagnostic indicator developed through this research can be used in various ways from the planning stage to the implementation stage of the regional development project, such as grasping the current conditions, setting improvement targets, promotion and evaluation/monitoring of the project. In addition, it is expected that it will be possible to carry out regional diagnosis for each spatial unit and to plan and implement regional development projects by giving priority to areas where the level of each department is insufficient.

  • This study is to investigate the factors affecting the regional rate of certification for long-term care insurance benefits. Analyzed data were the 253,935 certified beneficiaries (equivalent to 4.9% of total elderly population) as long-term care degree (LTC degree) 1~3 extracted from the applicants for long-term care in the beginning stage of the system from April 15 2008 to July 1 2009. Although the data were collected from individuals, after restructured into regional data and then analysed in the unit of 225 administrative regions for the Korean Long-term Care Insurance. The rate of certification was operated as the percentage of people of LTC degree 1~3 to the elderly population in each region. The average rate of certification among regions was 4.91%, and ranged from 2.20% to 8.32%. In the analysing regression models, most socio-demographic variables, applicants' disease characteristics, regional service infrastructure, and the certification interviewer's characteristics were included. The most influencing variables were the disease factors of applicants, especially dementia or cerebrovascular disease rather than arthritis, osteoporosis, or fracture patients were strong factors for the regional rate of certification. However, advanced studies adding more explainable factors on the regional variance of certification rate would be necessary to provide political agenda and measures for evidence-based certification process with high reliability and validity for a sustainable LTC system in Korea.

  • This study was conducted to review data utilization plans and suggest solutions based on the need for tools that can objectively diagnose problems in rural areas. The study extracted items through prior research and was carried out as a process of reviewing data capable of constructing spatial data. The results performed in the above manner are as follows. First, prior research and expert surveys were conducted to select diagnostic items to derive details of a total of three items that should be considered for rural space plans such as regional revitalization and regeneration using regional characteristics such as environment, society, and culture. Second, as a result of listing data available for regional diagnosis, 6 types of environment, 15 types of society, and 18 types of culture were selected out of a total of 529. Finally, it was suggested to establish a national standard spatial unit by grasping the limitations of public data such as omission of spatial data and accuracy. This study is significant in that it presented implications for data utilization as well as selection of items for rural diagnosis and reviewed data utilization based on rural specialized districts of "The Act on Support for Restructuring and Regeneration of Rural Spaces" to be implemented in 2024. This is considered to be valuable as a study for sustainable rural diagnosis if processes such as spatial data construction and weight setting are carried out in the future.

  • This paper is a series of study for the development of rural elementary school facilities model applying to the regional characteristics. Therefore, main theme of this paper is to pile up and analysis of elementary school facilities data in Po Cheon through a series of actual survey and interview with teachers. The results are summarized as follows ; First of all, in case of Po Cheon, it needs to study for urban model type as well as rural elementary school facilities model type. Second, extension type of buildings has separated as three types-zigzag extension type, vertical & horizontal extension type, separate building type. But another characteristics, such as type of site plan, type of corridor and module of classroom unit, outdoor space and elevation design, are monotonous. Third. the results of this analysis show that it is desirable to locate houses for teachers within boundaries. Finally, the future paper needs to be studying more various module of classroom unit, extension type, space program, type of floor plan and site plan.

  • When an earthquake occurs, the severity of damage is determined by natural factors such as the magnitude of the earthquake, the epicenter distance, soil properties, and type of the structures in the affected area, as well as the socio-economic factors such as the population, disaster prevention measures, and economic power of the community. This study evaluated the direct economic loss due to building damage and the community's recovery ability. Building damage was estimated using fragility functions due to the design earthquake by the seismic design code. The usage of the building was determined from the information in the building registrar. Direct economic loss was evaluated using the standard unit price and estimated building damage. The standard unit price was obtained from the Korean Real Estate Board. The community's recovery capacity was calculated using nine indicators selected from regional statistical data. After appropriate normalization and factor analysis, the recovery ability score was calculated through relative evaluation with neighboring cities.

  • Many applications in the areas of agricultural, hydrological and environmental resource management require data over very large areas and with a high imaging frequency - monitoring crop growth, water stress, seasonal wetland flooding and natural vegetation development. This precludes the use of fine resolution data (Landsat, Spot) on the grounds of cost, accessibility and low imaging frequency. Meteorological satellites have the potential to fill this need, given their very wide spatial coverage, and high repeat imaging. The Remote Sensing Unit (RSU) at the Zambia Meteorological Department routinely receives, processes and archives imagery from both Meteosat and NOAA AVHRR satellites. Here I wish to present some examples of applications of these data sets that arise from the RSU work - relationships between rainfall and vegetation development as assessed by satellite, derived information and seasonal patterns of flooding in the Barotse floodplain and the Kafue flats. I also wish to outline ways in which a more widespread use of this data by the Zambian institutions canbe achieved.

  • Purpose: This study examines the factors affecting patient-centered nursing among regional public hospital nurses, with a focus on communications, professionalism, organizational culture, and teamwork. Methods: We included 162 nurses working at five regional public hospitals in G province. Data were collected from October 7 through October 19, 2019 using self-report questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test or ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis using SPSS (Version 24.0). Results: The factors affecting patient-centered nursing included an innovation-oriented culture, working in an intensive care unit, hierarchy-oriented culture, and nursing professionalism. These variables explained 43% of patient-centered nursing. Conclusions: These results suggest that enhancing an innovation-oriented culture is necessary for patient-centered nursing and to improve nurses' awareness about the importance of patient-centered nursing. Moreover, organizational efforts are required to increase nurses' professionalism through suitable educational programs in regional public hospitals.
