Although companies perform societal marketing activities across different cultural regions, previous research was predominantly centered on a specific cultural region-the West. To address this limitation in the literature, the current research examines societal marketing in the Chinese market considering cultural characteristics. China has become the largest market in the world with great potential growth for its vast consumer base. Since there is heterogeneity among regions in China, it is imperative to divide China into several markets for better understanding. Thus, this study investigates different responses of Chinese regional (coastal vs. inland) consumers toward Cause-related Marketing (CM). Our findings reveal that Chinese consumers, in general, prefer utilitarian CM products compared to hedonic CM products, which is the opposite result of findings of the previous research. Further, this was truer for consumers in inland regions, while coastal consumers did not display any preference by product type. The academic and practical implications, limitations, and directions for future research are discussed.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among recognition, preference, and purchasing characteristics for Changnyeong onions and garlic as well as festival satisfaction among participants at agricultural product festivals in the Changnyeong region. Results showed that festival satisfaction of 'place of festival' was highest while 'convenience facility & event contents' earned the lowest scores. Most subjects (90.5%) had purchased Changnyeong agricultural and processed products. A major purchasing type was fresh agricultural products (66.7%). The pathways to recognize Changnyeong agricultural products were mostly 'promotion by related institutions' (22.0%), 'family relatives' (20.8%), 'mass media' (16.6%), and 'festivals and events' (16.1%). The most considered factors for purchasing regional products were 'geographical origin' and 'ingredients'. Changnyeong onion showed higher scores for recognition and preference and rate of purchase experience and intention than for garlic. The correlation coefficients of recognition and preference for onion and galic were 0.603 (p<0.001) and 0.598 (p<0.001), respectively. The explanation power ($R^2$) of related variables for purchase of Changnyeong onions was 0.258. The regression coefficients (${\beta}$) for 'recognition', 'preference' and 'convenient facility & event contents' were positive, whereas the regression coefficient for 'price' was negative. Recognition, preference, and convenient facility & event contents with garlic purchase showed a positive relationship ($R^2$=0.253). The most effective promotion method to increase sales of Changnyeong agricultural products was 'local festivals and events' (27.8%).

This paper aims to grasp the characteristics of the cognition and preference on the continents, their relationship, and then each nation's location and direction in case of Korean high school students. First, there exists difference of cognition by six continents as well as by gender and experience of foreign visit among the students. The students have somewhat different preference by each continent, which was affected by gender and experience of foreign visit as well. Second, the cognition of the students on each nation's location showed a positive relation with that on the continents, which was decided by adjacent distance with Korea. The empirical results showed that the higher the gaps of latitude over longitude are, the lower the cognition of the students on direction among nations are. Moreover there are significant gaps by gender and experience of foreign visit in orientation ability. As a result, the geography education may have to be develop the high school students' balanced cognition ability in relation to continents and nations.

As the number of foreigners who stay for a long time increases, their residential concentrations have emerged and developed. This research aims at investigating how and why immigrants' residential concentration sustains and develops. In order to understand the roles of the residential concentration for the immigrants' everyday, we used the framework of grunddaseins funktionen including residence, labor, shopping, education, leisure, commuting, and community activity. Accompanied is a case study of Daelim-dong which is the largest Chinese concentrations. The result shows that combined with co-ethnic preference in residence, various amenities at the concentrations attract new immigrants and hold existing immigrants, allowing the concentrations sustain and develop. It has been pointed out that there are the difference factors that foreign immigrants concentrate residentially: 'co-ethnic residential preference' for immigrants from more developed countries and 'discrimination' for immigrants from less developed countries. However this study shows that the residential concentrations for less-developed-country-immigrants could maintain and develop with grunddaseins funktionen based on co-ethnicity.
The purpose of this study is to provide a practical guide for the actual conditions and the preference of student housing in a regional university. The data are collected through questionnaire surveys from the students of a regional university. 265 samples are collected, and are analyzed by using SPSS-PC. As supply chains are globalized, multinational companies are trying to optimize distribution networks using a hub and spoke structure. In this hub and spoke network structure, multinational companies locate regional distribution centers at hub airports, which serve demands in their corresponding regions. Especially when customers put higher priority on the service lead-time, hinterlands of international hub airports become ideal candidate locations for the regional hub distribution centers. By utilizing excellent airport and logistics services from hub airports, regional distribution centers in the hub airports can match supply with demand efficiently. In addition, regional hub distribution centers may increase air cargo volume of each airport, which is helpful in the current extremely competitive airport industry. In this paper, we classified locational preferences into three primary categories including demand, service and risk and applied the analytic hierarchy process methodology to prioritize factors of locational preferences. Primary preference factors include secondary factors. Demand factor contains access to current and prospect markets. Service factor comprises airport and logistics perspectives. Service factor in terms of airport operations includes secondary factors such as airport service and connectivity. Service factor in terms of logistics operations contains infrastructure and logistics operations efficiency. Risk factor consists of country and business risks. We also evaluated competitiveness of Asian hub airports in terms of candidate location for regional hub distribution centers. The candidate hub airports include Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Narita and Incheon. Based on the analytic hierarchy process analysis, we derived strategic implications for hub airports to attract multinational companies' regional hub distribution centers.
The aim of this study is to analyze the planar composition of rectangular formation houses in 8 areas, both cities and counties, in the sphere of Andong and to reveal the characteristics of these houses in each region. This study of the rectangular formation of houses and their characteristics will facilitate an understanding of the general trends of housing in Andong cultural area.. In this study, the subject houses are composed of three parts: Bonchae, Anchae, and Sarangchae, and the author classified the planar types of the houses. The differences in the regional planar types were analyzed through visual and statistical methods. The analyzed results reveal the regional characteristics of the rectangular formation houses in terms of their planar aspects in the Andong region. The distribution showed the greatest preference toward one type out of two types of distribution of Bonchae, Anchae, and Sarangchae. The ratio for the higher distribution was approximately 70%, whereas the ratio for the lower distribution was around 20%. For convenience, the type with a higher distribution rate is referred to as the "major type," and the type with a lower distribution rate is termed the "minor type." The complete-type houses (73%) in Bonchae were a major type there, and the symmetric-type houses (73%) in Anchae were the major type in that location. In addition, the corner-type houses (72%) in Sarangchae were the major type. In the regional distribution of major types and minor types in the 8 regional cities and counties, regional differences were noted. The three regional groups can be divided into A, B, and C according to the distribution ratio. Andong, Bonghwa, and Yecheon belong to region A. that shows a variety of distribution types and a dispersive trend. Yeongyang and Yeongdeok belong to region C that shows a simplified trend.Yeongju and Cheongsong belong to region B.
