This article comes up with a new method which is based on the visual characteristic of the objects and machine learning technology to achieve semi-automated recognition of the personnel, machine & materials of the construction sites. Balancing the real-time performance and accuracy, using Faster RCNN (Faster Region-based Convolutional Neural Networks) with transfer learning method appears to be a rational choice. After fine-tuning an ImageNet pre-trained Faster RCNN and testing with it, the result shows that the precision ratio (mAP) has so far reached 67.62%, while the recall ratio (AR) has reached 56.23%. In other word, this recognizing method has achieved rational performance. Further inference with the video of the construction of Huoshenshan Hospital also indicates preliminary success.
Nowadays object tracking process becoming one of the most challenging task in Computer Vision filed. A CSR-DCF (channel spatial reliability-discriminative correlation filter) tracking algorithm have been proposed on recent tracking benchmark that could achieve stat-of-the-art performance where channel spatial reliability concepts to DCF tracking and provide a novel learning algorithm for its efficient and seamless integration in the filter update and the tracking process with only two simple standard features, HoGs and Color names. However, there are some cases where this method cannot track properly, like overlapping, occlusions, motion blur, changing appearance, environmental variations and so on. To overcome that kind of complications a new modified version of CSR-DCF algorithm has been proposed by integrating deep learning based object detection and CSRT tracker which implemented in OpenCV library. As an object detection model, according to the comparable result of object detection methods and by reason of high efficiency and celerity of Faster RCNN (Region-based Convolutional Neural Network) has been used, and combined with CSRT tracker, which demonstrated outstanding real-time detection and tracking performance. The results indicate that the trained object detection model integration with tracking algorithm gives better outcomes rather than using tracking algorithm or filter itself.

Early detection continues to be the mainstay of breast cancer control as well as the improvement of its treatment. Even so, the absence of cancer symptoms at the onset has early detection quite challenging. Therefore, various researchers continue to focus on cancer as a topic of health to try and make improvements from the perspectives of diagnosis, prevention, and treatment. This research's chief goal is development of a system with deep learning for classification of the breast cancer as non-malignant and malignant using mammogram images. The following two distinct approaches: the first one with the utilization of patches of the Region of Interest (ROI), and the second one with the utilization of the overall images is used. The proposed system is composed of the following two distinct stages: the pre-processing stage and the Convolution Neural Network (CNN) building stage. Of late, the use of meta-heuristic optimization algorithms has accomplished a lot of progress in resolving these problems. Teaching-Learning Based Optimization algorithm (TIBO) meta-heuristic was originally employed for resolving problems of continuous optimization. This work has offered the proposals of novel methods for training the Residual Network (ResNet) as well as the CNN based on the TLBO and the Genetic Algorithm (GA). The classification of breast cancer can be enhanced with direct application of the hybrid TLBO- GA. For this hybrid algorithm, the TLBO, i.e., a core component, will combine the following three distinct operators of the GA: coding, crossover, and mutation. In the TLBO, there is a representation of the optimization solutions as students. On the other hand, the hybrid TLBO-GA will have further division of the students as follows: the top students, the ordinary students, and the poor students. The experiments demonstrated that the proposed hybrid TLBO-GA is more effective than TLBO and GA.

Object recognition, detection and instance segmentation based on DL (Deep Learning) have being used in various practices, and mainly optical images are used as training data for DL models. The major objective of this paper is object segmentation and building detection by utilizing multimodal datasets as well as optical images for training Detectron2 model that is one of the improved R-CNN (Region-based Convolutional Neural Network). For the implementation, infrared aerial images, LiDAR data, and edges from the images, and Haralick features, that are representing statistical texture information, from LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) data were generated. The performance of the DL models depends on not only on the amount and characteristics of the training data, but also on the fusion method especially for the multimodal data. The results of segmenting objects and detecting buildings by applying hybrid fusion - which is a mixed method of early fusion and late fusion - results in a 32.65% improvement in building detection rate compared to training by optical image only. The experiments demonstrated complementary effect of the training multimodal data having unique characteristics and fusion strategy.

In order to achieve rapid and accurate detection of vehicle objects in complex traffic conditions, we propose a novel vehicle detection method. Firstly, more contextual and small-object vehicle information can be obtained by our Joint Feature Network (JFN). Secondly, our Evolved Region Proposal Network (EPRN) generates initial anchor boxes by adding an improved version of the region proposal network in this network, and at the same time filters out a large number of false vehicle boxes by soft-Non Maximum Suppression (NMS). Then, our Mask Network (MaskN) generates an example that includes the vehicle occlusion, the generator and discriminator can learn from each other in order to further improve the vehicle object detection capability. Finally, these candidate vehicle detection boxes are optimized to obtain the final vehicle detection boxes by the Fine-Tuning Network(FTN). Through the evaluation experiment on the DETRAC benchmark dataset, we find that in terms of mAP, our method exceeds Faster-RCNN by 11.15%, YOLO by 11.88%, and EB by 1.64%. Besides, our algorithm also has achieved top2 comaring with MS-CNN, YOLO-v3, RefineNet, RetinaNet, Faster-rcnn, DSSD and YOLO-v2 of vehicle category in KITTI dataset.

Corrosion detection and analysis is a very important topic in reducing costs and preventing disasters. Recently, image processing techniques have been widely applied to corrosion identification and analysis. In this work, we briefly introduces traditional image processing techniques and machine learning algorithms applied to detect or analyze corrosion in various fields. Recently, machine learning, especially CNN-based algorithms, have been widely applied to corrosion detection. Additionally, research on applying machine learning to region segmentation is very actively underway. The corrosion is reddish and brown in color and has a very irregular shape, so a combination of techniques that consider color and texture, various mathematical techniques, and machine learning algorithms are used to detect and analyze corrosion. We present examples of the application of traditional image processing techniques and machine learning to corrosion detection and analysis.

The most critical factors for detecting changes in very high-resolution satellite images are building positional inconsistencies and relief displacements caused by satellite side-view. To resolve the above problems, additional processing using a digital elevation model and deep learning approach have been proposed. Unfortunately, these approaches are not sufficiently effective in solving these problems. This study proposed a change detection method that considers both positional and topology information of buildings. Mask R-CNN (Region-based Convolutional Neural Network) was trained on a SpaceNet building detection v2 dataset, and the central points of each building were extracted as building nodes. Then, triangulated irregular network graphs were created on building nodes from temporal images. To extract the area, where there is a structural difference between two graphs, a change index reflecting the similarity of the graphs and differences in the location of building nodes was proposed. Finally, newly changed or deleted buildings were detected by comparing the two graphs. Three pairs of test sites were selected to evaluate the proposed method's effectiveness, and the results showed that changed buildings were detected in the case of side-view satellite images with building positional inconsistencies.

This paper introduces the design of detection, recognition, and tracking algorithms for VTS radar image-based objects. The detection of objects in radar images utilizes artificial intelligence technology to determine the presence or absence of objects, and can classify the type of object using AI technology. Tracking involves the continuous tracking of detected objects over time, including technology to prevent confusion in the movement path. In particular, for land-based radar, there are unnecessary areas for detection depending on the terrain, so the function of detecting and recognizing vessels within the region of interest (ROI) set in the radar image is included. In addition, the extracted coordinate information is designed to enable various applications and interpretations by calculating speed, direction, etc.
Deep neural networks have shown remarkable performance in various fields of pattern recognition such as voice recognition, image recognition and object detection. However, underlying mechanisms of the network have not been fully revealed. In this paper, we focused on empirical analysis of the network parameters. The Faster R-CNN(region-based convolutional neural network) was used as a baseline network of our work and three important parameters were analyzed: the dropout ratio which prevents the overfitting of the neural network, the size of the anchor boxes and the activation function. We also compared the performance of dropout and batch normalization. The network performed favorably when the dropout ratio was 0.3 and the size of the anchor box had not shown notable relation to the performance of the network. The result showed that batch normalization can't entirely substitute the dropout method. The used leaky ReLU(rectified linear unit) with a negative domain slope of 0.02 showed comparably good performance.

Pronunciation recognition systems that use only video information and ignore voice information can be applied to various customized services. In this paper, we develop a system that applies a Bayesian classifier to distinguish Korean vowels via lip shapes in images. We extract feature vectors from the lip shapes of facial images and apply them to the designed machine learning model. Our experiments show that the system's recognition rate is 94% for the pronunciation of 'A', and the system's average recognition rate is approximately 84%, which is higher than that of the CNN tested for comparison. Our results show that our Bayesian classification method with feature values from lip region landmarks is efficient on a small training set. Therefore, it can be used for application development on limited hardware such as mobile devices.
