  • The purpose of this paper is to propose a simple firmware realization of PCM framing system, which exploits LSI memories for performance improvement and hardware simplification. The proposed system simply consists of a tapped delay line for simultaneous observation of in framing-bits and ROM programmed sequence controller for framing process. Perpormance analyses are made in terms of misframe interval, sync-loss-detection time and reframe time. The proposed strategy proved to be significantly better in reframe time, stability and hardware implementation.

  • The performance of frame synchronization can be represented by the values of three characteristic variables-average misframe interval, average syncloss detection time, average reframe time. In this paper, we have analyzed the performance of frame synchronization of the standardized 90Mb/s optical transmission system by Markov chain method, with the suggestion of an extended algorithm for performance improvement. Maximum average reframe time of 1.18 ms can be obtained by the suggested algorithm, which is compared with that of 2.28 ms for the existing algorithm.

  • This study was conducted with two science classes of the 8th grade students in Seoul during 4 weeks. The numbers of students in the classes were 37 and 38, and they were taught for 12 class hours. Questions obtained for 12 class hours from 75 students were analyzed and grouped into patterns. All together 1.108 questions from the students were classified into six categories: 'No Connection' (7%). 'Contradiction' (3%), 'Recall' (23%), 'Reframe' (40%), 'Application' (18%), and 'Extension' (9%). Irrelevant questions to learning and questions of false proposition were classified into 'No Connection' and 'Contradiction', respectively. Questions repeating what were already explained were grouped into 'Recall'. Those requiring other examples and/or additional explanations were grouped into 'Reframe'. Those requiring practical applications and/or explanations for other concrete facts were grouped into 'Application'. Finally. Questions for higher and/or other concepts were grouped into 'Extension'. We also discussed educational implications of the above categorized questions in this study.

  • An aperiodic perfect map(APM) is an array with the property that every array of certain size, called a window, arises exactly once as a contiguous subarray in the array. In this article, we deal with the generalization of APM in higher dimensional arrays. First, we reframe all known definitions onto the generalized n-dimensional arrays. Next, some elementary known results on arrays are generalized to propositions on n-dimensional arrays. Finally, with some devised integer representations, two constructions of infinite family of n-dimensional APMs are generalized from known 2-dimensional constructions in [7].

  • We have developed three types of muldexes; they are 140Mbit/s muldex, 565Mbit/s muldex and monitor & control muldex for a 565Mbit/s optical fiber transmission system. The frame format of our own type has been constructed for the M&C muldex, and new direct and parallel reframe techniques have been invented for 140Mbit/s, and 565Mbit/s muldex. Their functions, configurations and perform ance evaluations are described here.

  • Since domestic and international environments has changed rapidly, Korean primary agricultural coopratives are expected to face many difficulties in business management, especially marketing and banking business. Therefore, it is necessary to reframe the exitsting structure of primary agricultural cooperatives so as to enhance the competitiveness in terms of management efficiency. However, There are many problems to be solved such as overnumbered staffs compared with decreasing number of farming population, unbalanced ratio between executive officials and lower-level officials, complexity of position-ranking system resulting from unclearness of official title and office regulations, and management right excessively concentrated on cooperative leader. The suggested measures for such problems are as follows; 1) attaining the economy size of agricultural cooperaitves in line with decreasing rural community, 2) fostering the on-the job training programs and the personnel administration according to job competency, 3) merging the small primary cooperatives into larger units with efficiency, 4) specializing the cooperative business based on their regional comparative advantage, 5) maintaining the rational adjustment between elected cooperative leader's management right and responsibility.

  • This study explores a model that examines how multidimensional risk factors explain mental health problems of young offenders. One hundred and ninety six students aged 13 to 15 in correctional facilities were assessed for mental health symptoms that examined the effects of multifaceted risk factors on mental health conditions. Consistent with the hypothesis of this study, secure unit students appear to have experienced various forms of risk factors and those factors have influenced mental health conditions. Results show that correctional facilities should reframe therapeutic and preventive approaches to disadvantaged students and develop integrated services and programs for rehabilitation and reintegration into society. It is recommended that those involved in treatment plans in correctional facilities consider that different treatment plans are necessary for each young offender.

  • As to the development of the information society, the common communication network which processes the service for data, image and voice etc., is required. So the higher degree of reliability becomes more important. Therefore, this paper describes the improvement of reliability using the format transformation of the mBIZ code and the reframe usually practiced at the terminal repeater.

  • Chronic Cochlodinium blooms in the southern waters of Korea have brought about considerable economic losses for about a decade, This paper aims to reframe current perspectives on the outbreak mechanism and the remediation schemes through a thought experiment in a context of mass balance and mathematical ecology. Far different explanations emerge from a careful examination of the scientifically unnoticed clues and a through discussion on the phytoplankton conservation equation. Logic of the eutrophication-induced red tide subjects to criticism. It is strongly recommended that the current remediation scheme to exterminate the target species should be rerouted to an environmentally sound competition enhancement tactics. Finally a novel convergence-float-aggregation hypothesis is proposed as an outbreak mechanism.

  • Objectives: The purpose of the present study was to explore the relationships between views on suicide, death, and life and lifetime suicidal attempts in the Korean context. Methods: Multiple logistic regression model was tested using data from Korean General Social Survey of 2009. We utilized the nationally representative survey data obtained via multistage stratified area probability sampling design from 1,599 respondents aged ${\geq}18$ years. Results: The proportion of lifetime suicidal attempts was 12.1% of entire sample in Korea. Some components of views on suicide and death influenced significantly on lifetime suicidal attempts after adjusting for demographic and health-related factors. The positive view on suicide(OR=0.76, 95% CI: 0.62-0.94), the naturalistic view on afterlife(OR=0.37, 95% CI: 0.67-0.99) and death concern(OR=0.67, 95% CI: 0.55-0.83) were risk factors of lifetime suicidal attempts. In contrast, the social responsibility view on suicide(OR=1.17, 95% CI: 1.00-1.37) and the transcendental view on afterlife(OR=1.25, 95% CI: 1.02-1.54) lowered the risk. Conclusions: Practical implications of the findings were discussed exploring policy evidences to screen high risk groups out and to reframe educational programs for suicide prevention. Strategic health messages need to be developed and transmitted for prevention of suicide.
