  • A beamforming method is a kind of spatial filter that focus the amy's signal capturing abilities in a desired direction. In this paper, we detect the location of a source under reflective condition using the multi-dimensional MUSIC algorithm then, we can iud the image source locations from the experimental geometry, and we reconstruct the partial fields for direct wave and reflected wave by using Adaptive nulling algorithm. Numerical simulations are performed to verify its performance under various conditions.

  • The coating condition of reproducible anti-reflective coating film and the light transmittance characteristics of the prepared anti-reflective coating glass were investigated as a study for the preparation of single-layer anti-reflective coating glasss. In case of coating with the sol in which the solvent was substituted with the ethanol with the addition of 0.1 mol HNO3, the coated glass showed the minimum value of the refractive index of 1.464, light transmittance of 94.2% at 550nm standard wavelength which is 3.2% higher than that of the parent glass, and the reflectance in the entire wave range of visible light. The refractive index represented its minimum at the sol concentration of 1.0 mol per 100mols of water and the higher the sol concentration, the higher the refractive index, resulting in the decrease of the light transmitance. The production condition of the reproducible anti-reflective coating on glass with the maximum transmittance of 94.2% was 4cm/min of withdrawal speed, 40$0^{\circ}C$ and 1 hour of heat treatment temperature and time, resulting in the film thickness of 94nm.

  • The goal of the image restoration is to find a good approximation of the original image for the degraded image, the blurring matrix, and the statistics of the noise vector given. Fast truncated Lagrange (FTL) method has been proposed by G. Landi as a image restoration method for large-scale ill-conditioned BTTB linear systems([3]). We implemented FTL method for the image restoration problem with reflective boundary condition which gives better reconstructions of the unknown, the true image.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of bereavement for main family members who had made and followed DNR decision for their family members. Method: This qualitative study was based on a grounded theory, and used in-depth interview techniques with the bereaved 10 main family members who had been treated and died under DNR order. Results: The causal condition of the family member was 'Releasing', and the main consequent phenomenon were 'Blaming self and ruminating'. The contextual condition was 'The memory of the deceased'. The action/reaction strategy was 'Purifying'. The intervening condition was 'Supporting system', and the consequence was 'Acceptance'. The experience after bereavement of the family member on DNR decision were rational processes that purified themselves and healed the guilt feeling about the decision from reflective assessment and response about DNR decision. Based on this results, the substantive theory 'Reflective self healing' was derived. Conclusion: The main family members in following DNR decision are more likely to have unhealthy emotional condition than others in normal bereavement process. But they overcame the grief of bereavement through reflective self healing process.

  • A dual-cell-gap transflective liquid crystal display (TR-LCD) with identical response time in the transmissive and reflective regions is demonstrated. In the transmissive region, strong anchoring energy condition is used to decrease the response time, while in the reflective region weak anchoring energy condition is used to increase the response time. The simulated dual-cell-gap TR-LCD has good performances.

  • The theory of NAH is based on the assumption of reflection free. However, it is not always possible to meet this condition in many practical cases. Thus, a decomposition of direct and reflected fields is needed to apply NAH to reflective condition for noise problems. In addition, the decomposition of direct and reflected field can give acoustic characteristics of reflecting surfaces. This paper presents that in this condition the decomposition can also be successfully done by MUSIC(Multiple Signal Classification) power method and beamforming method, and that numerical simulation and real experiments verify its performance.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze mathematical errors and the effects of reflective problem posing activities on students' mathematical problem solving abilities and attitudes toward mathematics. We chose two 5th grade groups (experimental and control groups) to conduct this research. From the results of this study, we obtained the following conclusions. First, reflective problem posing activities are effective in improving students' problem solving abilities. Students could use extended capability of selecting a condition to address the problem to others in the activities. Second, reflective problem posing activities can improve students' mathematical willpower and promotes reflective thinking. Reflective problem posing activities were conducted before and after the six areas of mathematics. Also, we examined students' mathematical attitudes of both the experimental group and the control group about self-confidence, flexibility, willpower, curiosity, mathematical reflection, and mathematical value. In the reflective problem posing group, students showed self check on their problems solving activities and participated in mathematical discussions to communicate with others while participating mathematical problem posing activities. We suggested that reflective problem posing activities should be included in the development of mathematics curriculum and textbooks.

  • We have performed computer simulation to obtain electro-optic characteristics of reflective hybrid aligned nematic liquid crystal displays (LCDs) driven by fringe field. The results show that the optimal retardation value (dΔn) of the cell is 0.289 ${\mu}$m, which allows for the cell to have a practical cell gap of larger than 3 ${\mu}$m when manufacturing. A reflectance of the dark state is only 0.114 % for an incident light 550 nm. At this condition, the light efficiency of white state reaches 92.7 %. The display with optimized cell parameters shows that the contrast ratio greater than 5 exists over 600 of polar angle in all directions and lower driving voltage than that of fringe-field driven homogeneously aligned reflective LCD.

  • For the high reflectance under the ambient light condition, a highly efficient diffractive reflector has been proposed, based on a micro grating structure.[1] This reflector was designed to show highly concentrated distribution of the reflected light to the normal direction of the reflector under specific incident conditions of the light. In order to apply a diffractive reflector to a reflective liquid crystal display, the coupling between the viewing angle characteristics of a liquid crystal (LC) cell and the reflective distribution of the reflector should be considered. Under the optimum configuration confirmed through the analysis of the coupling between a LC cell and a reflector, a reflective vertical alignment (VA) cell with a diffractive reflector shows contrast ratio and brightness much higher than that with a conventional bumpy reflector.

  • This paper presents the effect of a reflective force computed from a first-order-hold method on the stability of a haptic system. A haptic system is composed of a haptic device with a mass and a damper, a virtual spring, a sampler and a sample-and-hold. The boundary condition of the maximum virtual stiffness is analytically derived by using the Routh-Hurwitz criterion and the condition shows that the maximum virtual stiffness is proportional to the square root of the mass and the damper of a haptic device and also is inversely proportional to the sampling time to the power of three over two. The effectiveness of the derived condition is evaluated by the simulation. When the reflective forces are computed by using the first-order-hold method, the maximum available stiffness to guarantee the stability is increased several hundred times as large as when the zero-order-hold method is applied.
