Correlation between Cephalometric Reference Planes for Clinical Application to Articulators

  • Purpose: This study aimed to find a correlation between the occlusal plane and two reference planes that are frequently used in semi-adjustable articulators. Materials and Methods: Sixty-two males and fifty females with normal articulation were recruited and the lateral cephalograms of these patients were taken. The angles between the Frankfort horizontal (FH) and the occlusal planes, the angles between the gnathologic and the occlusal planes, and the angles between the FH and gnathologic planes were measured on the lateral cephalograms. Result: The mean angles between the FH and the occlusal planes was 8.29°±3.62°, with 8.88°±3.09° and 7.63°±4.10° for male and female patients, respectively. The mean angles between the gnathologic and the occlusal planes was 2.77°±3.62°, and the angle between the FH and the gnathologic planes was 5.52°±3.62°. No significant differences were found in the measured angles between the male and female patients (P>0.05). Conclusion: Different guidance angles may be applied to articulators for prosthodontic restoration, depending on the reference planes that the articulators use.

3차원 두부영상의 기준좌표계 설정을 위한 연구: II부 수평기준면과 정중시상면의 재현성 (Formulation of a reference coordinate system of three-dimensional head & neck images: Part II. Reproducibility of the horizontal reference plane and midsagittal plane)

  • 본 연구는 삼차원 두부 영상을 위치시키기 위한 좌표계를 구성하는 방법에 대해 제안하기 위해, CT data에서 기존의 두부방사선 계측사진에서 쓰이는 점들을 선정하고, 이를 바탕으로 수평, 수직평면의 안정성을 조사하였다. 서울대학교 치과병원에 내원한 환자 18명의 CT자료를 채득하였으며, 모든 환자는 서울대학교 병원 진단방사선과에서 촬영하였다 (Somatom Plus 4 Siemens, Erlangen Germany). V works for surgery4.0 (Cybermed Inc.. Seoul. Korea)을 이용하여 3차원 좌표축을 선정하고, 계측점을 선택하였다. 좌표축을 동일하게 설정하기 위해 7개의 점(reference point)을 4*4*2 pixel size의 voxel로 따로 표시하였다. 계측점을 선정한 후, V surgery (Cybermed Inc., Seoul, Korea)에서 각 점의 좌표값을 추출하였다. 각각의 점들은 2회 반복 선정한 후 점들을 조합하여 수평, 수직평면의 재현성을 평가한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 수평 기준면의 재현도는 S-Cl평면을 제외하고는 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 사잇각은 FH평면이 가장 작게 나타났다. FH평면은 Po과 Or중 어느 3점을 선택하더라도, 통계적으로 유사한 재현도를 보였다. FH1과 FH2의 사잇각과 FH3과 FH4의 사잇각은 $1^{\circ}$ 이하의 적은 오차를 보이며, FH3와 FH4의 사잇각이 통계적으로 더 작은 차이를 보였다. 정중시상면의 재현도는 FMS-Nc, Na-Rh, Na-AHS Rh-ANS, FR-PNS를 기준으로 설정한 경우를 제외하면, $0.61{\sim}1.93^{\circ}$의 양호한 값을 보였다. 이상의 결과에 의하면 공간에서 정의되는 평면의 재현도는 평면을 정의하는 점 자체의 식별오차뿐 아니라, 각 점의 위치관계에도 영향을 받는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서, 안정적인 3차원 기준 좌표계를 구성하려면 양측 Po과 편측 Or으로 구성되는 평면을 수평기준면으로, 수평면에 수직이고, Foramen Spinosum의 중점과 Nc를 포함하는 평면을 수직기준면으로. 수평면과 수직면에 수직이고. clinoidale나 sella, PNS를 지나는 평면을 전두면으로 설정하는 것이 바람직할 것으로 생각된다.

투영 모아레 기법을 이용한 Mapping에 관한 연구 (A Study on Mapping using Projection Moir Technique)

  • 모아레는 음영 모아레와 투영모아레로 나뉘어지는데, 본 연구에서는 일반적인 지상 사진 측량에 의한 결과와 비교하므로써 투영모아레 system의 기준면 방향의 결정 방법을 제시하는 데 목적을 두었다. 본 연구를 위해 기준점 측량을 행하였고, 이로부터 얻은 결과와 모아레 사진에 의한 좌표값을 비교 분석하였다. 투영 모아레 기법에서는 투영점과 촬영점을 이동하지 않고도 대상물상에 생기는 주격자와 보조격자의 격자 간격을 달리하므로써, 각각 다른 기준면 방향의 모아레 등고선을 용이하게 얻을 수 있었으며, 대상물과 평행한 기준면 방향의 모아레 등고선도는 대상물 상에서의 두 격자 간격이 같을 때 얻어짐을 알았다.

광감도 비교를 통한 면외 변형 측정 조건에 대한 연구 (Study on the Out-of-Plane Deformation Measurement Condition through Comparison Photosensitivity)

  • In the present study, an interferometer system, which integrates the laser sensitivity control technique based on the theory of electronic speckle pattern interferometry, one of non-contact non-destructive analysis methods, was developed. This interferometry system receives an image from CCD cameras for each reference and object, and compares the photosensitivity of the object and reference images from imagification. For the purpose of this study, the photosensitivity of object and reference light is measured with power meters, and the amount of light was controlled with an ND filter with a reference light port matching photosensitivity. Using the plate specimen as the object, 0.6, 0.9, 1.2, and $1.5{\mu}m$ of out-plane deformation was made, and images were compared according to the difference in photosensitivity. After analysis, larger object deformations showed larger numbers of stripe patterns. Images became clearer and data error was reduced when the photosensitivity of object and reference light matched.

엔진성능을 고려한 무인비행체의 고도전이 궤적 설계 (Height Transition Trajectory Design for Considering Engine Performance)

  • In mission planning of UAV applications, especially for the missions requiring height transitions, it is required to generate reference flight trajectories considering the performances of the engine installed in the UAV. Even though the vertical line following guidance based height transition trajectory generation method has been developed to build reference height transition trajectories easily, it is not adequate for considering engine performances effectively since many engine characteristics and performances have conventionally been described in the V-H(speed-height) plane which is not the very space where the UAVs are actually flying. In this paper, we derive the trajectories in V-H plane for the vertical line following flights. And based on the results, a new algorithm to design the reference height transition trajectories for UAV applicaions. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is very effective and easily applicable.

속도추정 기반의 2자유도 도립진자의 안정화를 위한 입력보상 방식의 분산 신경망 제어기에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Studies on Decentralized Neural Networks Using Reference Compensation Technique For Controlling 2-DOF Inverted Pendulum Based on Velocity Estimation)

  • In this paper, the decentralized neural network control of the reference compensation technique is proposed to control a 2-DOF inverted pendulum on an x-y plane. The cart with the 2-DOF inverted pendulum moves on the x-y plane and the 2-DOF inverted pendulum rotates freely on the x-y axis. Since the 2-DOF inverted pendulum is divided into two 1-DOF inverted pendulums, the decentralized neural network control is applied not only to balance the angle of pendulum, but also to control the position tracking of the cart. Especially, a circular trajectory tracking is tested for position tracking control of the cart while maintaining the angle of the pendulum. Experimental results show that position control of the inverted pendulum system is successful.

측모 두부 방사선사진과 컴퓨터 영상사진 (Dolphin Imaging System)의 계측치 에 관한 비교 (COMPARISONS OF MEASUREMENTS OBTAINED FROM LATERAL CEPHALOMETRIC RADIOGRAPHS AND DIGIGRAPHS OF DOLPHIN IMAGING SYSTEM)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the differences in measurements between cephalometric radiographs and digigraphs of Dolphin Imaging System. 26 Korean adult male and 24 adult female with normal occlusion were selected. For each subject lateral cephalogram was taken. Digitizing with Digigraph Work Station of Dolphin in System. was performed as well. 50 tracings and 50 digigraphs were analyzed with Yonsei, Ricketts, Burstone analyses. The comparable measurements between tracing group and digigraph group were statistically analyzed. The results were as follows: 1. 13 of 64 comparable measurements did not show any statistically significant difference (P>0.05) between tracing group and digigraph group. 2. Three of the measurements with FH plane as a reference plane did not show any statistically insignificant difference. All measurement with SN plane as a reference plane showed statistically significant difference(p<0.05). 3. The measurements which showhed no statistically significant difference were mostly short distance linear measurements while most of the angular measurements showed statistically significant difference(p<0.05).

교합평면 경사도에 관한 두부방사선학적 연구 (A STUDY ON THE OCCLUSAL PLANE INCLINATION IN LATERAL CEPHALOGRAPH)

  • This study was aimed to investigate the occlusal plane inclination in relation to the skeletal and dental assessment measurements in order to provide a reference in orthodontic treatment planning as the occlusal plane should be reconstructed orthodontically or gnathologically. The sample consisted of 73 normal occlusions and 113 malocclusions of adults. The computerized statistical analysis of 38 occlusal plane's and 29 skeletal and dental measurements were carried out with SPSS. The conclusions were as follows; 1 In normal occlusion, COP-NaPog was average $83.63^{\circ}$ (2.44) and occlusal plane inclination had a strong negative correlation with SNB and FH-NaPog. 2. In normal occlusion, ArANS plane was nearly parallel to the occlusal plane. 3. In malocclusion, the larger the mandibular plane angle and the shorter the ramus height was, the more downward the occlusal plane had a tendency to tip anteriorly. 4. Occlusal plane was more horizontal in deep bite group, while it was steeper in openbite group. 5. The curve of Spee was severe in deep bite group but in openbite group mandibular occlusal plane showed average reverse curvature, where it was found that the configuration of the occlusal plane contributed to the excess or deficiency of anterior overbite.

기준 평면의 설정에 의한 확장 칼만 필터 SLAM 기반 카메라 추적 방법 (EKF SLAM-based Camera Tracking Method by Establishing the Reference Planes)

  • 본 논문에서는 시퀀스 상에서 확장 칼만필터(Extended Kalman Filter) 기반의 SLAM(Simultaneous Localization And Mapping) 시스템의 안정적인 카메라 추적과 재위치(re-localization) 방법이 제안된다. SLAM으로 얻어진 3차원 특징점에 들로네(Delaunay) 삼각화를 적용하여 기준(reference) 평면을 설정하며, 평면상에 존재하는 특징점의 BRISK(Binary Robust Invariant Scalable Keypoints) 기술자(descriptor)를 생성한다. 기존 확장 칼만필터의 오차가 누적되는 경우를 판단하여 기준 평면의 호모그래피로부터 카메라 정보를 해석한다. 또한 카메라가 급격하게 이동해서 특징점 추적이 실패하면, 저장된 강건한 기술자 정보를 매칭하여 카메라의 위치를 다시 추정한다.
