생산준비시간 단축과 생산로트사이즈에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Setup Time Reduction on Production Lot Sizes)

  • Setup Time Reduction is an important aspect of the Just-in-Time(JIT) and Zero Inventory(Zl) Concepts since it supports reductions in manufacturing lead times and inventories. It also enables small lot sizes and kanban systems implementation for material flow - achieving major improvements in production floor management. One concept fundamental to the pursuit of JIT production in Japan and other countries is adoption of a setup time reduction. This paper looks at the necessities of setup time reduction and the relations to machine utilization. By using an EOQ model for evaluate the effect of setup time reduction, we get the results that over 75 % reduction in setup time is obtain the desired results in the lot size reduction.

  • 본 논문은 HMM (Hidden Markov Model) 음성 인식 시스템에 적용할 수 있는 새로운 인식 시간 알고리즘인 스코아 캐쉬기법을 제안한다. 다른 많은 기법들이 인식 시간을 줄이면서 계산량을 줄이기 위하여 어느 정도의 인식율 저하를 감수하는 반면에 제안하는 스코아 캐쉬기법은 인식율 저하를 전혀 일으키지 않으면서 인식 시간을 상당량 줄일 수 있는 기법이다. 단독어 인식 시스템에 적용 가능할 뿐 아니라 연속어 인식에도 적용이 가능하며, 기존에 이미 설계된 인식 시스템의 구조를 전혀 흩트리지 않고 간단히 하나의 함수만 대치함으로서 인식시간을 크게 감축할 수 있다 또한 기존의 계산량 감축 알고리즘과 함께 적용 가능하므로 추가의 계산량 감소를 얻을 수 있다. 스코아 캐쉬 기법을 적용한 결과 최대 54% 만큼 계산량을 줄일 수 있었다.

State-of-practice and State-of-Art for the Project Cycle Time Reduction

  • There are no formal decision tools or guidelines to assist owners and contractors in choosing delivery systems and project strategies that would allow for a radical reduction in project cycle time - from the preplanning phase through project start up. Therefore, it is important to identify the state-of-practice and the state-of-art on methods of achieving radical reduction defined as a reduction of 25% or more in overall project cycle time. A comprehensive literature review, three questionnaire surveys, and the seven case studies were conducted and the data obtained from them were analyzed to establish the state-of-practice and state-of-art for project cycle time reduction techniques.

  • Global competition and reduced project life cycle ultimately puts greater performance requirements on the capital project delivery systems used to maintain competitiveness. Despite continuing improvements in delivery cycle time, business owners of facilities continue to demand greater improvements in project delivery cycle time. Therefore, it is very important to investigate the various techniques and methods leading to reduction in project cycle time and also identify the applicability of identified techniques and methods. This paper introduces reduction techniques identified through literature review (i.e, Schedule Reduction Techniques (SRTs), Management Techniques (MTs), and Construction Institute Industry (CII) Best Practices (BPs). In order to collect applicability of these techniques under different project phases (Pre-project planning (PPP), Design (D), Material Management (MM), Construction (C), and Start-up (SU)), the Essence Applicability Matrices (EAM) is used.

담배추출물의 알카로이드감소에 미치는 산화제의 영향 (The Effect of Oxidizing Agents on Alkaloid Reduction of Tobacco Extract)

  • This experiment was carried out for the purpose of reducing alkaloid in reconstituted tobacco sheet and effluent of reconstituted tobacco sheet manufacturing company by treating oxidizing agents such as ozone, sodium hypochlorite, perchloric acid and hydrogen peroxide to tobacco extract created from the manufacturing process of reconstituted tobacco sheet. The effect of alkaloid reduction in tobacco extract by the volume added, time of treatment and pH of oxidizing agents were as follows: 1. When the solid rate of tobacco extract stood at 10 percent, the content of alkaloid, total sugar, total nitrogen and chlorine was 1,600mg/l, 11,000mg/l, 3,200mg/l and 4,000mg/l, respectively. 2. The effect of alkaloid reduction through ozone treatment was in proportion to time of ozone treatment. Alkaloid showed a 31.2 percent reduction under 8 hours' ozone treatment and 0.23g ozone consumed to remove lmg alkaloid. 3. Alkaloid reduction through sodium hypochlorite treatment was influenced by quantity of chlorine in sodium hypochlorite solution. To remove lmg alkaloid, 36.3mg chlorine was used. Reduction of alkaloid was not affected by time of sodium hypochlorite treatment, while showed the best reaction under pH 5-7. 4. The effect of alkaloid reduction by perchloric acid was under the control of the volume added and time of treatment of perchloric acid. The volume of perchloric acid required to remove alkaloid was on the decrease as time of treatment was getting longer. lmg alkaloid was removed by 0.15g perchloric acid under 8 hours' perchloric acid treatment. 5. Alkaloid reduction reacted slowly to the volume added and time of treatment of hydrogen peroxide. Under 8 hours' hydrogen peroxide treatment, it showed maximum removal, registering 10 percent alkaloid reduction.

  • 본 논문에서는 시변 페이딩 환경에서 기존의 Lattice Reduction(LR)기반 MIMO 수신기의 계산량을 효과적으로 감소시키는 새로운 기법을 제안한다. 시변 페이딩 채널 환경의 경우 매 프레임의 채널 행렬들이 시간 상관성에 의해 변화되므로, LR을 통해 얻어진 정수 행렬 P가 시간에 따라 크게 바리지 않는 성질을 발견하였다. 이러한 특성을 이용하여 연속된 채널에 대하여 LR을 독립적으로 수행하는 것이 아니라 직전 채널에서 구한 P를 초기조건으로 하여 LLL-LR 기법과 Seysen LR 기법을 수행한다. 실험결과에서는 제안된 기법이 기존 LR 기법과 같은 직교성 정도를 유지하면서 기존 LR 기법에 비해 계산량은 확연히 감소시켰음을 보인다.

디스크 드라이브의 탐색시간 단축제어 (Control for Seek Time Reduction in Disk Drives)

  • Controllers for acoustic noise reduction in disk drives have been developed but they have slower seek time performance than time-optimal controllers. We propose a new seek servo controller that has acoustic noise reduction benefit and faster seek time performance than conventional controllers. The proposed controller is designed to make sure that head is moved with maximized acceleration and deceleration under the voltage limitation imposed on head-positioning motor and so it provides faster seek time than conventional controllers designed by considering the current limitation. The experimental results using a commercially available disk drive confirm that the use of the proposed controller results in foster seek time than conventional controllers for acoustic noise reduction.

DR-LSTM: Dimension reduction based deep learning approach to predict stock price

  • In recent decades, increasing research attention has been directed toward predicting the price of stocks in financial markets using deep learning methods. For instance, recurrent neural network (RNN) is known to be competitive for datasets with time-series data. Long short term memory (LSTM) further improves RNN by providing an alternative approach to the gradient loss problem. LSTM has its own advantage in predictive accuracy by retaining memory for a longer time. In this paper, we combine both supervised and unsupervised dimension reduction methods with LSTM to enhance the forecasting performance and refer to this as a dimension reduction based LSTM (DR-LSTM) approach. For a supervised dimension reduction method, we use methods such as sliced inverse regression (SIR), sparse SIR, and kernel SIR. Furthermore, principal component analysis (PCA), sparse PCA, and kernel PCA are used as unsupervised dimension reduction methods. Using datasets of real stock market index (S&P 500, STOXX Europe 600, and KOSPI), we present a comparative study on predictive accuracy between six DR-LSTM methods and time series modeling.

Frequency-Domain Balanced Stochastic Truncation for Continuous and Discrete Time Systems

  • A new method for relative error continuous and discrete time model order reduction is proposed. The reduction technique is based on two recently developed methods, namely frequency domain balanced truncation within a frequency bound and inner-outer factorization techniques. The proposed method is of interest for practical model order reduction because in this context it shows to keep the accuracy of the approximation as high as possible without sacrificing the computational efficiency. Numerical results show the accuracy and efficiency enhancement of the method.

Comparison between Accurate Anatomical Reduction and Unsuccessful Reduction with a Remaining Gap after Open Reduction and Plate Fixation of Midshaft Clavicle Fracture

  • Background: The purpose of this study is to compare the radiological and clinical outcomes after open reduction and plate fixation of midshaft clavicle fractures between patients who achieved successful anatomical reduction and those who had a remaining fracture gap even after open reduction and plate fixation, and were thus treated with additional demineralized bone matrix (DBM). Methods: This retrospective analysis was conducted on 56 consecutive patients who underwent open reduction and internal fixation using a locking compression plate for acute displaced midshaft clavicle fractures, and who underwent radiographic and clinical outcome evaluations at least 6 months postoperatively. The outcomes between those who achieved perfect anatomical reduction without remnant gap (n=32) and those who had a remaining fracture gap even after open reduction and plate fixation treated with additional DBM (n=24) were evaluated. Results: There were no differences in the use of lag screws or wiring and operation time (all p>0.05) between those with and without remnant gap. No difference in the average radiological union time and clinical outcomes (satisfaction and Constant score) was observed between the two groups (all p>0.05). However, significantly faster union time was observed for AO type A fracture compared with other types (p=0.012), and traffic accident showed association with worse clinical outcomes compared with other causes of injury. Conclusions: Surgical outcome of midshaft clavicle fracture was more affected by initial fracture type and event, and re-reduction and re-fixation of the fracture to obtain a perfect anatomical reduction spending time appears to be unnecessary if rigid fixation is achieved.
