  • Due to the large window area, the lighting environment of the educational space between the window and deep part of the room is not uniformly illuminated, and the phenomenon of glare is severe. For this reason, the daylight performance of DSC-BIPV windows was analyzed in order to improve the natural lighting in the educational sector. The method derives the correlation with natural lighting by measurement and simulation. Dynamic simulation confirmed that the average illuminance of the target space was higher at later than the early afternoon. The performance of natural lighting at 40% and 30% transmission of DSC has the effect of significantly reducing the amount of excess light in existing windows. Nevertheless, the actual average illuminance in all seasons corresponds to the standard illuminance of the educational facility, 300 Lux. In addition, the uniformity is also seen through the skylight illuminance ratio.

  • Nuclear energy programs around the world increasingly find themselves at the nexus of potentially conflicting demands from both domestic and international stakeholders. On one side, the rapid growth in demand for electricity coupled with the goal of reducing carbon emissions calls for a significant expansion of nuclear energy. On the other, stakeholders are seeking ever greater safety, environmental, security, and nonproliferation assurances before consenting to the construction of new nuclear energy facilities. Satisfying the demand for clean energy supplies will require nuclear energy operators to find new and innovative ways to build confidence among stakeholders. This paper discusses two related concepts which can contribute to meeting the needs of key stakeholders in cost effective and efficient ways. Structured processes and tools for assessing stakeholder needs can build trust and confidence while facilitating the "designing-in" of information collection systems for new facilities to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Integrated approaches to monitoring facilities and managing the resulting data can provide stakeholders with continued confidence while offering operators additional facility and process information to improve performance.

  • Recently, a multi-facility, multi-product and multi-period industrial problem has been widely investigated in Supply Chain Management(SCM). One of the key issues in the current SCM research area involves reducing both production and distribution costs. We have developed an optimization model to tackle the above problems under the restricted conditions such as transportation time and a zero inventory. The model can be used to deride an appropriate factory and assign an optimal output the factory yields. This paper deals with the main idea of the proposed methodology in depth.

  • This paper investigates the optimal ratio of the ex post cost settled in the total cost paid to the facility-operating agent and the size of compensation for demand promotion efforts made by the trustee. We have extended McAfee and McMillan(1986)'s principal-agent model by incorporating incentives for the demand promotion efforts. We show that cost reducing effort is negatively related with the ratio of the ex post cost settled in the total cost. In addition, the optimal level of demand promotion effort is determined by the size of the compensation and the ratio of the ex post cost settled. A simulation study confirms our findings from a theoretical model.

  • Unit costs for energy production in bioenergy facilities are dependent upon both fixed cost for facility construction and operational costs including biomass feedstock supply. With the increase of capacity, unit fixed cost could be decreased while supply cost tends to increase due to the longer transportation distance. It is desirable to take into account biomass availability in planning bioenergy facilities. A cumulative curve relationship was proposed to relate biomass availability and cumulative products of biomass amount and transportation distance. Optimum size of gasification facilities was affected by collection cost, biomass cumulative relationship. Based on biomass availability of Icheon-City, optimum sizes were about $400kW_{th}$ for gas production, and about $200kW_{el}$ for power generation. Unit cost of bioenergy production could be substantially reduced by reducing collection cost through supplying biomass from diverse sources including land development areas where significant amount of waste wood is generated. When planning bioenergy facilities, however, biomass availability and spatial distribution are key factors in determining the size of capacity.

One of the key issues in the current SCM research area involves reducing both production and distribution costs. We have developed an optimization model to tackle the above problems under the restricted conditions such as transportation time and a zero inventory. Computational experiments using commercial tool Ms-Excel Solver show that the real size problems we encountered can be solved in reasonable time. The model can be used to decide an appropriate production-distribution planning problem in SCM research area.

  • Scheduling of dismantling old research reactor need to consider time, cost and safety for the worker. The biggest issue when dismantling facility for research reactor is safety for the worker and cost. Large portion of a budget is spending for the labor cost. To save labor cost for the worker, reducing a lead time is inevitable. Several algorithms applied to reduce read time, and safety considered as the most important factor for this project. This research presents three different dismantling scheduling scenarios. Best scenario shows the specific scheduling for worker and machine, so that it could save time and cost.

  • Recently, a multi facility, multi product and multi period industrial problem has been widely investigated in Supply Chain Management (SCM). One of the key issues in the current SCM research area involves reducing both production and distribution costs. The purpose of this study is to determine the optimum quantity of production and transportation with minimum cost in the supply chain network. We have presented a mathematical model that deals with real world factors and constraints. Considering the complexity of solving such model, we have applied the genetic algorithm approach for solving this model using a commercial genetic algorithm based optimizer. The results for computational experiments show that the real size problems we encountered can be solved in reasonable time.

  • The objectives of the on-the-spot inspection in Honam district are to find out the situation of the damages on facilities and the reason of the damages caused by heavy snow, and to suggest the preventive plan for reducing the damages from the future heavy snow. From the results of the on-the-spot inspection, plastic houses, barns and ginseng cultivation facilities are mainly damaged by heavy snow in the Honam district, and the importance of the future heavy snow preparedness measures is highly recognized in an agricultural district. In this research, 4 kinds of alternative proposals for the heavy snow are suggested.

  • The purposes of this research are to modelize test system of SM TESTING by ARENA, software, input several items of specimen's testing process, resources of system and transfer loop, etc, give a hypothesis and then, obtain results reducing the efficiency of the whole system finally by overload of specific facilities in the testing system through the simulation so as to obtain several materials such as specimen and testing facility, transfer loop, etc. by simple and various forms without any necessity of numerical modelization. It will add facilities of over load and reduce facilities with low operation rate, so increase the efficiency of the system.
