People are constantly exposed to stress and anxiety environment, which could contribute to a variety of psychological and physical health problems. Therefore, it is particularly important to identify psychological stress in time and to find a feasible and universal method of stress reduction. This research investigated the influence of different music, such as relaxation music and natural rhythm music, on stress relief based on Electroencephalogram signals. Mental arithmetic test was implemented to create a stressful environment. 23 participants performed the mental arithmetic test with and without music respectively, while their Electroencephalogram signal was recorded. The effect of music on stress relief was verified through stress test questionnaires, including Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI-6) and Self-Stress Assessment. There was a significant change in the stress test questionnaire values with and without music according to paired t-test (p<0.01). Furthermore, a model based on Transformer for stress level classification from Electroencephalogram signal was proposed. Experimental results showed that the method of listening to relaxation music and natural rhythm music achieved the effect of reducing psychological stress and the proposed model yielded a promising accuracy in classifying the Electroencephalogram signal of mental stress.

Purpose: This study was a systematic review to evaluate the effects of aromatherapy on menopausal symptoms, perceived stress and depression in middle aged-women. Methods: Eight databases were searched from their inception September 8, 2015. Two reviewers independently performed the selection of the studies, data abstraction and validations. The risk of bias was assessed using Cochrane criteria. For analysis of the data, a meta-analysis of the studies was performed. Results: From the electronic databases, 73 articles were selected, and 19 removed due to duplication. After two reviewers read the abstracts of 54 studies, 34 studies were selected. Complete papers for 34 s were read and, 12 studies which met selection criteria were reviewed and the effects of aromatherapy on menopausal symptoms, stress and depression analyzed using meta-analysis with RevMan. In the 2 studies which included Randomized Controlled Trials testing of aromatherapy on menopausal symptoms and comparison of control and placebo groups were done. Aromatherapy massage was favorably effective in reducing the menopausal symptoms compared to the control group (n=118, MD=-6.33; 95% CI -11.51 to -1.15), and compared to the placebo group (n=117, MD=-4.14; 95% CI -7.63 to -0.64). Also aromatherapy was effective in reducing stress (n=72, SMD=-0.64; 95% CI -1.12 to -0.17) and depression (n=158, MD=-5.63; 95% CI -10.04 to -1.22). Conclusion: There is limited evidence suggesting that aromatherapy for middle-aged women may be effective in controlling menopausal symptoms, perceived stress and depression.

It is shown in the present study that during the HTS (hot temperature storage) test, the metal contamination by impure elements can be highly susceptible to the void formation, leading to the open failure of the power line in the memory device. Such a functional failure associated with the metal contamination was investigated to be dominant in the early stages of the HTS test while the formation of a stress-driven void is mainly observed in the later stages. In particular, it was found that the void formed in the contaminated metal takes on a slit-like shape which has been known to be characteristic of the stress-related voiding. The impure elements leading to the metal degradation were identified to be carbon and oxygen introduced during the metal sputtering process. The experimental works show that the device reliability was significantly improved by reducing the level of such impure elements within metal. Verapamil is used in the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, and atrial fibrillation. Recently, several studies have demonstrated that verapamil increased the optic nerve head blood flow and improved the retrobulbar circulation. All these show that verapamil is potentially useful for ophthalmic treatment. Thus, the aim of this study is to investigate whether verapamil could protect human lens epithelial cell (HLEC) from oxidative stress induced by $H_2O_2$ and the cellular mechanism underlying this protective function. The viability of HLEC was determined by the MTT assay and apoptotic cell death was analyzed by Hoechst 33258 staining. Moreover, Caspase-3 expression was detected by immunocytochemistry and flow cytometry analysis. We also detected Caspase-3 mRNA expression by reverse-transcription-polymerase chain reaction and the GSH content in cell culture. The results showed that oxidative stress produced significant cell apoptotic death and it was reduced by previous treatment with the verapamil. Verapamil was effective in reducing HLEC death mainly through reducing the expression level of apoptosis-related proteins, caspase-3, and increasing glutathione content. Therefore, it was suggested that verapamil was effective in reducing HLEC apoptosis induced by $H_2O_2$.
Objective: The purpose of the present study was to examine the mediating role of career calling in the relationship between job stress and burnout as well as the association among job stress, career calling, and burnout. Methods: A sample of three-hundred and seven child care teachers in the metropolitan area of Seoul completed questionnaires on job stress, career calling, and burnout. Results: Correlation and regression analyses indicated that lack of directors' leadership and administrative support, work overload, and career calling significantly predicted child care teachers' burnout. Moreover, the association of lack of directors' leadership and administrative support of burnout was mediated by career calling. Conclusion/Implications: The findings suggest that directors' leadership and seamless administrative support need to be emphasized in order to reduce burnout and mitigate work-related stress among child care teachers. The findings also highlight the important role of career calling in reducing burnout among child care teachers and suggest the consideration of career calling as a target in interventions and educational programs.

This paper proposes the step-stress type-I censoring model for analyzing the data of accelerated life test and reducing the time of accelerated life test. In order to obtain the data of accelerated life test, the step-stress accelerated life test was run with voltage stress to CMOS Hex Buffer. The Weibull distribution, the Inverse-power-law model and Maximum likelihood method were used. The iterative procedure using modified-quasi-linearization method is applied to solve the nonlinear equation. The proposed Weibull step-stress type-I censoring model exactly estimases the life time of units, while reducting the time of accelerated life test and the equipments of test.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test effects of music therapy on stress due to preterm labor and uterine contraction in pregnant women with preterm labor. Methods: An experimental research design was used. Participants were 35 pregnant women with preterm labor who were between 20 to 37 weeks of pregnancy: control group (n=18) received only tocolytic drugs, while experimental group (n=17) received additional music therapy. In the experimental group, Traumerei was applied before Non-Stress Test (NST) from the second day to fifth day after admission as music therapy. Results: There was a statistically significant difference in stress due to preterm labor (z=-3.368, p<.001) between the two groups. Conclusion: The music therapy is an effective method for reducing the stress of pregnant women with preterm labor.

The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of visual programs on job stress and burnout in emergency room nurses. This study used a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. There were 26 participants in the experimental group and 27 in the control group. Data collection took place from December 12, 2017 to February 17, 2018. The program comprised eight weekly 120-minutes sessions, which included understanding and assessing job stress and burnout. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test, paired t-test, and independent t-test. As a result, levels of job stress (t=-20.09, p<.001) and burnout (t=-22.31, p<.001) decreased significantly in the experimental group. The results suggest that the Visual Media Program could be an effective strategy for reducing job stress and burnout. Therefore, it is deemed a useful intervention for improving the quality of nursing care provided in emergency rooms.
All clinical nurses are not only faced with the physical and emotional needs of patients but also exposed to the heavy workload. In clinical settings, the nurses' stress becomes more and more critical. Understanding the stress experienced by nurses is essential for planning programs to enhance patient care and to promote nurses health. Many methods to reduce the stress were practiced for patients. In this study, the investigator examined how the imagery influence the reducing the stress of clinical nurses. For this study, the recorded tape for imagery developed in the Society of Rheumatics was applied. In order to evaluate the effect of imagery on the stress of clinical nurse, stress score, serum cortisol, blood pressure, and pulse were measured on 20 clinical nurses for 20 days. The results were as follows: 1. Stress score decreased significantly in the experimental group. And the rate of decrease in stress score was significantly higher in experimental group than in the control group. 2. The level of serum cortisol decreased significantly after the application of imagery. 3. Systolic blood pressure decreased significantly after the application of imagery. These results indicate that after applying the method of imagery on the nurses, stress score, serum cortisol level, and systolic blood pressure were significantly decreased. Therefore, this study proves that imagery is one of the methods to reduce the stress of clinical nurses.
