PURPOSES : In this study, an image analysis method is used to evaluate the pore structure characteristics and permeability of hybrid concrete. METHODS : The binder weight of hybrid concrete is set to $400kg/m^3$, $370kg/m^3$, and $350kg/m^3$, and for each value of binder weight, the pore structure and permeability of concrete mixture is evaluated. The permeability of hybrid concrete is evaluated using a rapid chloride penetration test(RCPT). RESULTS : The concrete pore structure characteristics of hybrid concrete reveals that as the binder weight is reduced, the entrained air is reduced and the entrapped air is increased. The permeability of the hybrid concrete for all values was measured to be below 1000 C, which indicates a "Very Low" level of permeability relative to the evaluation standard of KS F 2711. Additionally, as the binder weight is decreased, there is a significant increase in the permeability of chloride ions. CONCLUSIONS : In this study, the pore structure characteristics of hybrid concrete at different binder weights shows that as the binder weight is reduced, the entrained air is reduced and the entrapped air is increased. Consequently, chloride ion penetration resistance of the hybrid concrete is diminished. As a result, it is expected that this will reduce the concrete's durability.

Since Jacquine introduced the image coding algorithm using fractal theory, many fractal image compression algorithms providing good quality at low bit rate have been proposed by Fisher and Beaumount et al.. But a problem of the previous implementations is that the decoding rests on an iterative procedure whose complexity is image-dependent. This paper proposes an iterative-free fractal image decoding algorithm to reduce the decoding time. In the proposed method, under the encoder previously with the same codebook image as an initial image to be used at the decoder, the fractal coefficients are obtained through calculating the similarity between the codebook image and an input image to be encoded. As the decoding process can be completed with received fractal coefficients and predefined initial image without repeated iterations, the decoding time could be remarkably reduced.
Nowadays, it is popular to use the spread spectrum watermarking algorithm for still image. But there is high error probability of the retrieved watermark in the spread spectrum owing to the correlation between image and spreaded watermark sequence. In this paper, two methods are proposed. One is Ordering Map Method and the other is Alteration of Image. Based on pixel value, the order by which the spreaded watermark bits is embedded is created in Ordering Map Method. By the covariance function between image and the spreaded sequence, image is altered in Alteration of Image. Hence, bit error of retrieved watermark is clearly reduced to zero by this two method.

While segmenting "complex" images (with multiple objects, many details, etc.) we experienced a need to explore new ways for time-efficient and meaningful image segmentation. In this paper we propose a new technique for image segmentation which has only one variable for controlling the expected number of segments. The algorithm focuses on the treatment of pixels in transition zones between various label distributions. Results of the proposed algorithm (e.g. on the Berkeley image segmentation dataset) are comparable to those of GMM or HMM-EM segmentation, but are achieved with significantly reduced computation time.

Recently, Fractal Image Coding has been studied as a way of efficient data compressing scheme. In the beginning, Fractal Image Coding has been studied for the data compressing in black & white images and linear images. A. E. Jacquin suggested LIFS which expends to Fractal Image Coding for a gray scale image. Currently, YTKT's LIFS scheme which is using Gram-Schmidt is so efficient that enough to compete with the JPEG which is the national standards. This paper investigates the way of greatly reduced calculation for the orthogonalization algorithm.
Wavelet scheme can be applied to the various remote sensing problems: conventional multi-resolution image analysis, compression of large image sets, fusion of heterogeneous sensor image and segmentation of features. In this study, we attempted wavelet-based filtering and its analysis. Traditionally, statistical methods and adaptive filter are used to manipulate noises in the image processing procedure. While we tried to filter random noise from optical image and radar image using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DW1) and Stationary Wavelet Transform (SW1) and compared with existing methods such as median filter and adaptive filter. In result, SWT preserved boundaries and reduced noises most effectively. If appropriate thresholds are used, wavelet filtering will be applied to detect road boundaries, buildings, cars and other complex features from high-resolution imagery in an urban environment as well as noise filtering

In this paper, we proposed the recognition method that automatically extracts cracks from a surface image acquired by a digital camera and recognizes the directions (horizontal, vertical, -45 degree, and 45 degree) of cracks using the fuzzy single layer perceptron. We compensate an effect of light on a concrete surface image by applying the closing operation, which is one of the morphological techniques, extract the edges of cracks by Sobel masking, and binarize the image by applying the iterated binarization technique. Two times of noise reduction are applied to the binary image for effective noise elimination. After the specific regions of cracks are automatically extracted from the preprocessed image by applying Glassfire labeling algorithm to the extracted crack image, the cracks of the specific region are enlarged or reduced to $30{\times}30$ pixels and then used as input patterns to the fuzzy single layer perceptron. The experiments using concrete crack images showed that the cracks in the concrete crack images were effectively extracted and the fuzzy single layer perceptron was effective in the recognition of the extracted cracks directions.

Purpose In this paper, we proposed alternate neighborhood system and reverse spread-direction approach for accurate and fast cellular automata-based image segmentation method. Materials and Methods On the basis of a simple but effective interactive image segmentation technique based on a cellular automaton, we propose an efficient algorithm by using Moore and designed neighborhood system alternately and reversing the direction of the reference pixels for spreading out to the surrounding pixels. Results In our experiments, the GrabCut database were used for evaluation. According to our experimental results, the proposed method allows cellular automata-based image segmentation method to faster while maintaining the segmentation quality. Conclusion Our results proved that proposed method improved accuracy and reduced computation time, and also could be applied to a large range of applications.

The temporal dark- and bright-image sticking phenomena were examined relative to the He contents under 11% Xe content in the 50-in HD and FHD AC-PDPs with a ternary gas mixture (Xe-He-Ne). To compare the temporal dark- and bright-image sticking phenomena under various He contents, the differences in the disappearing time, display luminance, perceived luminance, infrared emission, color coordinate, color temperature, and discharge current before and after discharge were measured under 0, 35, 50, and 70% He contents. It was found that temporal dark- and bright-image sticking were reduced in proportion to the increase in He %. Thus, a high He content contributes to the reduction of temporal dark- and bright-image sticking.
Many system devices for fluoroscopic and general X-ray studies in diagnostic radiographic system have been being changed from analog mode to digital mode. In addition, among diagnostic imaging and radiologic examinations, fluoroscopic studies that requires functional diagnosis is being widely used. The video recording method of fluoroscopic studies has been useful in functional image diagnosis and dynamic image observation, but the utility of its image quality is being reduced because of limitation in setting play segments of the video player, inconvenience of play, difficulties in preserving reproduced images, the change of image quality, etc. In order to complement these shortages, it is necessary to facilitate access to patient diagnosis information such as storing, editing and sharing functional diagnosis images in response to the trend of the digitalization of digital radiographic & fluoroscopic system(DRF). Thus this study designed and implemented a device of storing functional dynamic images real time using a computer rather than existing video recording, aiming at contribution to functional image diagnosis.
