Image stitching method is a technique for obtaining an high-resolution image by combining two or more images. In X-ray image for clinical diagnosis, the size of the imaging region taken by one shot is limited due to the field-of-view of the equipment. Therefore, in order to obtain a high-resolution image including large regions such as a whole body, the synthesis of multiple X-ray images is required. In this paper, we propose a rapid stitching method of digital X-ray images using template-based registration. The proposed algorithm use principal component analysis(PCA) and k-nearest neighborhood(k-NN) to determine the location of input images before performing a template-based matching. After detecting the overlapping position using template-based matching, we synthesize input images by alpha blending. To improve the computational efficiency, reduced images are used for PCA and k-NN analysis. Experimental results showed that our method was more accurate comparing with the previous method with the improvement of the registration speed. Our stitching method could be usefully applied into the stitching of 2D or 3D multiple images.

Stenosis is the drastic reduction in the cross-sectional area of blood vessel caused by accumulations of cholesterol. It affects the blood flow property and structure from the fluid dynamic point of view. To understand the flow phenomenon more clearly, a particle image velocimetry method is used and the fluid dynamic characteristics in a circular channel containing stenosis structure is investigated experimentally in this study. Different stenotic-structured models made of acrylic material are subjected to a pulsatile flow generated by an in-house designed pulsatile pump. The inner diameter of the tube inlet is 20 mm and the length of reduced area for stenosis ranges between 35mm and 40mm. It is circulated continuously through a circular channel by the pump system. Pressure is measured at four different sections during systolic and diastolic phase changes. The phase-averaged velocity field distribution shows a recirculation regime after the stenotic structure. The effects of the stenotic obstructions are found to be more severe when the aspect ratio is varied.
PURPOSES : Road lighting facilities increase the visibility of road at night in order to improve traffic driver safety and comfort. Generally speaking, current pole lighting has a tendency to create problems of glare and flicker. The phenomenon of glare gives discomfort due to increase of scattered light, when high luminance is in driver's field of view. The phenomenon of flicker occurs due to the driver passing through discontinuous pockets of pole lighting areas. These phenomenon increase eye strain and decrease driver safety. METHODS : Low height line lighting that distributes light lower than driver's eye level has been developed and evaluated to reduce the problems linked to current pole lighting. A test was undertaken with 4 conditions(turn on the general pole lighting, turn off alternate pole lighting, turn on the line lighting and line lighting with 50% dimming). A driver written survey was conducted in order to gain driver feedback. RESULTS : Pupil size and brow frequency compared with degree in pole lighting are reduced. CONCLUSIONS : Low height line lighting environment makes drivers more comfortable than pole lighting environment and is positive lighting method in the energy saving and landscape aspect.
Apartment building site planning is one of time consuming and labor-intensive tasks in architectural design field, due to its complexity in zoning regulations, building codes, local restrictions, and site-specific conditions. In other words, the process can be seen as a very complicated mathematical function with layers of variables and parameters, which ironically can be automated using computational methods on parametric tools. In this paper, a practical method of automating site planning of an apartment complex has been proposed by utilizing parametric approaches in Rhino 3D and Grasshopper. Two primary parameters, building heights and positions, determine the efficacy of building layouts under all regulatory standards, thus testing out numerous combinations of the two will produce some successful layout alternatives. For this, equation solver has been used for iterating the parametric model to sort out meaningful results among others. It also has been proven that the proposed process significantly reduced the time in site planning down to less than an hour on most cases, and many successful alternatives could be obtained by using multiple computers. Post evaluation processes such as day light and view shed analysis helped sort out the best performing ones out of functioning alternatives.

The fisheye image acquired with a fisheye camera has wider field of view than a general use camera. But large distortion of the object in the image requires conversion of the fisheye image to the perspective image because of user's difficult perception. The existing Ishii's method[1] has the problem that the object can has sire and geometrical distortion in the transformed image because it uses equidistance projection. This paper presented a conversion technique of the fisheye image to the perspective image using sealing function. In the experiments, it was shown that our method reduced size and geometrical distortion by applying the scaling function.

As a research hotspot, pedestrian detection has a wide range of applications in the field of computer vision in recent years. However, current pedestrian detection methods have problems such as insufficient detection accuracy and large models that are not suitable for large-scale deployment. In view of these problems mentioned above, a lightweight pedestrian detection and early warning method using a new model called you only look once (Yolov5) is proposed in this paper, which utilizing advantages of Yolov5s model to achieve accurate and fast pedestrian recognition. In addition, this paper also optimizes the loss function of the batch normalization (BN) layer. After sparsification, pruning and fine-tuning, got a lot of optimization, the size of the model on the edge of the computing power is lower equipment can be deployed. Finally, from the experimental data presented in this paper, under the training of the road pedestrian dataset that we collected and processed independently, the Yolov5s model has certain advantages in terms of precision and other indicators compared with traditional single shot multiBox detector (SSD) model and fast region-convolutional neural network (Fast R-CNN) model. After pruning and lightweight, the size of training model is greatly reduced without a significant reduction in accuracy, and the final precision reaches 87%, while the model size is reduced to 7,723 KB.
This paper proposes a better shielding method to over sampling technique. The new method uses aluminum foil for RF shielding. As a result of the phantom test, when the over-sampling technique was applied, the aliasing artifact was reduced by about 94% compared to before the application, and the case where the aluminum shielding band was applied was also reduced by about 92% compared to before application. In addition, the scan time also increased by more than 3 times in the case of the over-sampling technique, while it was found that there was no change from before the application of the aluminum shielding band Therefore, it was confirmed that the shielding band using aluminum foil can effectively remove aliasing artifacts without increasing the scan time..

Microbubbles moving in the turbulent boundary layer are visualized and investigated in the point of frictional drag reduction. The turbulent boundary layer is formed beneath the surface of the 2-D flat plate located in the tunnel test section. The microbubble generator produces mean bubble diameter of 30 – 50 μm. To capture the micro-bubbles passing through the tiny measurement area of 5.6 mm2 to 200 mm2, the shadowgraphy system is employed appropriately to illuminate bubbles. The velocity field of bubbles reveals that Reynolds stress is reduced in the boundary layer by microbubbles’ activity. To understand the contribution of microbubbles to the drag reduction rate more, much smaller field-of-view is required to visualize the bubble behaviors and to find the 2-D void fraction in the inner boundary layer.
Both angiography and interventional procedures accompanied by angiography provide many diagnostic and therapeutic benefits to patients and are rapidly increasing. However, unlike general radiography or computed tomography using the same X-ray, the amount of radiation is quite high, but the dose range can vary considerably for each patient and operator. The high sensitivity of the lens to radiation during cerebral angiography and neurointervention is already well known, and although there are many related studies, it is insufficient to easily reduce radiation in diagnosis and treatment. In this situation, in particular, by adding three-dimensional rotational angiography (3D-RA) to the existing two-dimensional (2D) angiography, it is now possible to make an accurate diagnosis. However, since this 3D-RA acquires images through projection of more radiation than before, the exposure dose of the lens may be higher. Therefore, we tried to analyze whether the radiation dose of the lens can be reduced by moving the lens out of the field range by adjusting the table height and magnification ratio during the examination using 3D-RA. The surface dose was measured using a rando phantom and a radiophotoluminescent glass dosimeter (PLD) and the radiation dose was compared by adjusting the table height and magnification ratio based on the central point. As a result, it was found that the radiation dose of the lens decreased as the table height increased from the central point, that is, as the lens was out of the field of view. In conclusion, in 3D-RA, moving the table position of about 2 cm in height will make a significant contribution to the dose reduction of the lens, and it was confirmed that adjusting the magnification ratio can also reduce the surface dose of the lens.

The efficiency of implementation of the arithmetic operations in finite fields depends on the choice representation of elements of the field. It seems that from this point of view normal bases are the most appropriate, since raising to the power 2 in $GF(2^n)$ of characteristic 2 is reduced in these bases to a cyclic shift of the coordinates. We, in this paper, introduce our algorithm to transform fastly the conventional bases to normal bases and present the result of H/W implementation using the algorithm. We also propose our algorithm to calculate the multiplication and inverse of elements with respect to normal bases in $GF(2^n)$ and present the programs and the results of H/W implementations using the algorithm.
