The relocation effect of observation station (REOS) on the homogeneity of seasonal mean of maximum and minimum temperature, diurnal temperature range (DTR) and relative humidity (RH) was investigated using surface observation data and document file. Twelve stations were selected among the 60 stations which have been operated more than 30 years and relocated over one time. The data from Chunpungryeong station were used as a reference to separate the impacts of station relocation from the effects caused by increased green house gases, urbanization, and others. The REOS was calculated as a difference between REOS of relocated station and REOS of reference station. Although the REOS is clearly dependent on season, meteorological elements, and observing stations, statistically significant impacts are found in many stations, especially the environment of observing station after relocation is greatly changed. As a result, homogeneity of seasonal mean of meteorological elements, especially DTR and RH, is greatly reduced. The results showed that the effect of REOS, along with the effect of urbanization, should be eliminated for the proper estimation of climate change from the analysis of long-term observation data.
In this study, the simulation results of temperature by regional climate model (Reg- CM4) over South Korea were corrected by Hempel et al. (2013)'s method (Hempel method), and evaluated with the observation data of 50 stations from Korea Meteorological Administration. Among the 30 years (1981~2010) of simulation data, 20 years (1981~2000) of simulation data were used as a training data, and the remnant 10 years (2001~2010) data were used for the evaluation of correction. In general, the Hempel method and parametric quantile mapping show a reasonable correction both in mean and extreme climate of temperature. As the results, the systematic underestimation of mean temperature was greatly reduced after bias correction by Hempel method. And the overestimation of extreme climate, such as the number of TN5% and freezing day, was significantly recovered. In addition to that, the Hempel method better preserved the temporal trend of simulated temperature than other bias correction methods, such as the quantile mapping. However, the overcorrection of the extreme climate related to the upper quantile, such as TX5% and hot days, resulted in the exaggeration of the simulation errors. In general, the Hempel method can reduce the systematic biases embedded in the simulation results preserving the temporal trend but it tends to overcorrect the non-linear biases, in particular, extreme climate related to the upper percentile.
A study on electrical and electronic equipment will occur in the atmosphere, which is essential to cut the power to prevent the waste of power by power measurement technology development and to develop the technology to do this operation is the main core of standby power to detect and block it and return the configured for software and hardware, while the actual construction to ensure stability through field testing and debugging of problems improved accordingly, as well as ease of installation and so it could be done while the test. In addition, in terms of basic hardware switching of standby power when blocking, reducing stress and ensure stable operation and circuit design, power off and back to ensure stable operation even when a protection circuit is applied.
Total suspended particles in the atmosphere were collected on the quartz fiber filters using an ANdersen Hi-volume air sampler from March 1989 to October 1989 and from June 1990 to February 1991, at Chung-Ang University in Seoul. A total amount of eight heavy metals (Cr, Zn, Cd, Pb, Fe, V, Ti, Mn) in total suspended particles were determined by ICP spectrophotometer. The annual arithmetic mean concentration of total suspended particle was 162.3$\mug/m^3$ and eight metals(Cr, Zn, Cd, Pb, Fe, V, Ti, Mn) were 11.6, 609.2, 3.5, 337.1, 2739.5, 15.1, 89.4 and 100.5ng/$m^3$, respectively. The concentration of total suspended particle was highest in the spring(343.7$\mug/m^3$) and lowest in the summer(91.8$\mug/m^3$). These heavy metals were distinguished into two groups in terms of their particle size distribution. The contents of first-group heavy metals (Fe, Ti, Mn) were increased in accordance with the growth of the particle size. The contents of the second-group ones such as Pb, Cd, V, and Zn, on the contrary, came to increase according as the particle size reduced. Statistical analysis indicated that there was a correlation between total suspended particle and Fe in coarse particles, and between total Suspended Particle and Zn, Pb in fine particle.
In India, disposal of vegetable market waste along with municipal solid waste in landfills or dumpsites is creating much nuisance in terms of odor nuisance, leachate production, and greenhouse gas emission into the atmosphere. Therefore, vegetable waste with high biodegradable and nutrient content is composted in a 550-L batch scale rotary drum composter to study the degradation process and its compost properties for its potential reuse as high quality compost. A total 150 kg of working volume was fixed for composting studies with two different ratios, trial A (6:3:1) of C/N 24 and trial B (8:1:1) of C/N 30, respectively. A maximum of $63.5^{\circ}C$ and $61.2^{\circ}C$ was observed in trials A and B; an average of $55^{\circ}C$ for more than 5 days, which helped in the degradation of organic matter and reduction of total and fecal coliform. The temperature dropped suddenly after the thermophilic stage in trial B, and leachate was observed due to insufficient amount of bulking agent. Mesophilic bacteria dominated during the initial stages of composting, and reduced considerably during the thermophilic stage. During the thermophilic stage, the rise in spore-forming organisms, including spore-forming bacteria, fungi, actinomycetes and streptomycetes, increased and these were predominant until the end of the composting process. By examination, it was observed that moisture and leachate production had adverse effects on the compost parameters with higher loss of micronutrients and heavy metals.
(Sm/Y)-Ba-Cu-O system high Tc composite superconductors with/without $CeO_2$ additive were directionally grown by zone-melting process, haying large temperature gradient, In air atmosphere. Cylindrical green rods of $({Sm/y})_{1.8}Ba_{2.4}Cu_{3.4}O_x$ [(Sm/Y)1.8] composite oxides by cold isostatic pressing(CIP) method using rubber mold were fabricated. The microstructure and superconducting properties were investigated by XRD, SEM, TEM and SQUID magnetometer. The size of nonsuperconducting $({Sm/y})_2BaCuO_5$ inclusions of the melt-textured (Sm/Y)1.8 sample with CeO$_2$ additive were remarkably reduced and uniformly distributed within the superconducting (Sm/Y)1.8 matrix. Both samples, with/without $CeO_2$ additive, showed an onset Tc $\geq$ 90 K and sharp superconducting transition. The critical current density Jc value of the $CeO_2$ addictive were $1{\times}10^5A/\textrm{cm}^2$ in 77 K, 0 Tesla.
It was investigated that $Al_2$$O_3$/Cu nanocomposite powder could be optimally prepared by dispersion and reduction of Cu oxide, and suitably consolidated by employing pulse electric current sintering (PECS) process. $\alpha$-$Al_2$$O_3$ and CuO powders were used as elemental powders. In order to obtain $Al_2$O$_3$ embedded by finely and homogeneously dispersed CuO particles, the elemental powders were high energy ball milled at the rotating speed of 900 rpm, with the milling time varying up to 10 h. The milled powders were heat treated at $350^{\circ}C$ in H$_2$ atmosphere for 30 min to reduce CuO into Cu. The reduced powders were subsequently sintered by employing PECS process. The composites sintered at $1250^{\circ}C$ for 5 min showed the relative density of above 98%. The fracture toughness of the $Al_2$$O_3$/Cu nanocomposite was as high as 4.9MPa.$m^{1}$2//, being 1.3 times the value of pure $Al_2$$O_3$ sintered under the same condition.
Phase transition, dielectric properties, and leakage current characteristics of Ta2O5 thin film fabricated by sol-gel process with tantalum penta-n-butoxide were studied as a function of annealing temperature in O2 atmoshpere. Although Ta2O5 thin film annealed at temperatures below 700$^{\circ}C$ for 1 hr was amorphous, it was crystallized to ${\beta}$-Ta2O5 of orthorhombic phase by annealing at temperatures higher than 750$^{\circ}C$. With increasing annealing temperature from 500$^{\circ}C$ to 900$^{\circ}C$, dielectric constant of sol-gel processed Ta2O5 thin film was changed from 17.6 to 15.3 due to the increase of SiO2 thickness at Ta2O5/Si interface. For Ta2O5 thin film annealed at 500$^{\circ}C$ to 800$^{\circ}C$ for 1 hr in O2 atmosphere, leakage current was remarkably reduced and breakdown strength was increased with higher annealing temperature. For Ta2O5 film annealed at 800$^{\circ}C$, breakdown did not occur even at electric field strength of 30${\times}$105V/cm and leakage current was maintained lower than 10-8A/$\textrm{cm}^2$.
Dielectric properties of Ba1-$\chi$Sr$\chi$Ti1-yCayO3-y ceramics, where Sr and Ca were doped to Ba-site and Ti-site within the range of 0 x 0.24 and 0 y 0.05, respectively, were investigated. The substitution of Ca for Ti, which maintained the high resistivity of these formulations after sintering in a reducing atmosphere, was confirmed. Ca addition decreased the tetragonality c/a, increased the unit cell volume, and lowered Curie temperature, which were attributed to the occupancy of Ca2+ ions on Ti-sites. The lowering of Curie temperature by Ca addition was affected by the substitution of Sr for Ba-site; within 2 mol% of Ca, Curie temperature was lowered at a rate of 2$0^{\circ}C$ and 16$^{\circ}C$ per mol% of Ca at x=0 and x=0.08, respectively. Whereas the resistivity of the formulations without Ca was reduced to 107 {{{{ OMEGA }}cm, when sintered at low oxygen partial pressure of 10-9 MPa, the resistivity value higher than 1011 {{{{ OMEGA }}cm was maintained for the formulations containing Ca more than 0.5 mol%. Dielectric loss factor, tan$\delta$, was about 1% for most formulations.
In this work, the recovery of etching damage in the etched PZT thin film with $O_2$ annealing has been studied. The PZT thin films were etched as a function of Cl$_2$/Ar and additive CF$_4$ into Cl$_2$(80%) /Ar(20%). the etch rates of PZT thin films were 1600$\AA$/min at Cl$_2$(80%)/Ar(20%) and 1970 $\AA$/min at 30% additive Cf$_4$ into Cl$_2$(80%)/Ar(20%). In order to recover the characteristics of etched PZT thin films, the etched PZT thin films were annealed in $O_2$ atmosphere at various temperatures. From the hysteresis curves, ferroelectrical properties are improved by $O_2$ annealing process. The improvement of ferroelectric behavior is consistent with the increase of the (100) and (200) PZT phase revealed by x-ray diffraction (XRD). From x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis, intensities of Pb-O, Zr-O and Ti-O peak increase and the chemical residue peak is reduced by $O_2$ annealing. From the atomic force microscopy (AFM) images. it shows that the surface morphology of re-annealed PZT thin films after etching is improved.
