In this paper, we study whether the programming questions of the Informatics·Computer recruitment tests were suitable for selecting teachers with required programming skills. The average points of the programming questions constituted 38%(20.8 points) of the total scores for the entire curriculum based on the results from analyzing the previous questions in the past 5 years. Moreover, the distribution of points for each evaluation criteria within programming and data structure, two exam subjects which have a high proportion of programming questions, demonstrated a large deviation ranging from 0% to 47% and 0% to 53% respectively. In this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 31 teachers to examine if the previous programming questions were suitable for measuring teachers' competency in programming abilities required in the actual teaching experience. Computational thinking ability was ranked the highest at 58% in response to the area that needs to be evaluated in the recruitment test. In response to the relevance of previous questions, problem solving ability was ranked the highest at 2.84 on a 5-point scale, but the overall appropriateness was deemed low. C language and Python were regarded as the computer languages suitable to be tested for programming questions with each ranked 55% and 45%. The finding confirms that teachers preferred Python and the incumbent C language to others. Based on the results of the questionnaire, we recommend changes in the programming questions to improve the selection criteria.

BACKGROUND: Immigration to South Korea from neighboring Asian countries has risen dramatically, primarily due to marriage between Korean men and foreign women. Although Filipino women rank fourth among married immigrant women, little is known about the health condition of this population. This manuscript focuses on the design and methods of Filipino women's diet and health study (FiLWHEL). SUBJECTS/METHODS: FiLWHEL is a cohort of Filipino women married to Korean men, aged 19 years old or over. The data collection comprised three parts: questionnaire, physical examination, and biospecimen collection. Questionnaires focused on demographic factors, diet, other health-related behaviors, acculturation and immigration-related factors, medical history, quality of life, and children's health information. Participants visited the recruitment site and answered the structured questionnaires through a face-to-face interview. We also measured their anthropometric features and collected fasting blood samples, toenails, and DNA samples. Recruitment started in 2014. RESULTS/CONCLUSIONS: Collection of data is ongoing, and we plan to prospectively follow our cohort participants. We expect that our study, which is focused on married Filipino women immigrants, can elucidate nutritional/health status and the effects of transitional experiences from several lifestyle factors.

Purpose: Recent advances in computer and mobile technologies have brought increasing usages of IT technology in nursing research across nursing fields. Despite the increasing usages, there has been little discussion on methodological issues involved in nursing research using IT technology. This is a discussion paper to identify methodological issues in IT technology-based nursing research. Methods: An analysis was done using content analysis on research team meeting minutes and research team members' research diaries in a clinical trial that tested the efficacy of a technology-based intervention. First, several major categories of IT technology-based nursing research are concisely summarized. Then, the method that was used for this analysis is presented. Results: The findings are presented as themes reflecting methodological issues in IT technology-based research: (a) difficulties in recruitment due to necessary technology literacy; (b) facilitating recruitment through allowing the use of multiple languages; (c) participants' preferences for specific IT technology; (d) efforts needed to ensure technological security; (e) participants' preferences for design; and (f) necessary considerations on timing. Conclusion: Finally, future directions for nursing research using IT technology are proposed based on the identified issues.

The Korea rural health study, a large prospective cohort study, the objectives of this study are exploration for potential causes of agricultural injuries and diseases among farmers. Current medical research suggests that they may have higher rates of some traumatic injuries, pesticide poisoning, infectious diseases, musculoskeletal diseases, asthma and other respiratory diseases. This study is designed to identify occupational, lifestyle, and environmental factors of workplace that may affect the rate of diseases in farming population. Round 1, initial cohort recruitment, will begin in 2006 and conclude in 2009. Round 2, follow-up will begin in 2010 and conclude in 2014. Approximately 54,000 persons will be selected to study population. Nested case-control studies and case-crossover studies will be conducted for getting to the bottom of agriculture-related diseases. Recruitment and follow-up are conducted in collaboration with multi-centers. As data on the exposures and health outcomes of this study population are collected and analyzed in 2014. This study will be evaluated by public health experts for effort, achievement, adequacy of performance, efficacy, process of study and so on. The author expects that this cohort study may reduce agricultural injuries and diseases and will provide information that agricultural workers can use in making decisions about their health. Also, this study will be significant basis for strengthening the competitiveness of agriculture in Korea.

Nowadays data-based decision making is emerging as the center of the business environment paradigm, but many companies do not have data-driven decision-making systems. It has also been studied that using an expert's intuition in decision making can be more efficient in terms of speed and cost, compared to analytical decision making. The goal of this study is to analyze customer churn factors using a group of experts within a financial company from the viewpoint of decision-making efficiency. We applied a debit card 'A', product of the National Credit Union Federation of Korea. The churn factors of all the financial expert groups were examined. Also. the difference in each group (management support, card recruitment, customer service group) was analyzed. We expect that this study will be helpful in the practical aspects of managers whose environments is lack data-oriented infrastructure and culture.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference in perceptions of job applicants on core competency in the recruitment environment based on National Competence Standards(NCS), and also to obtain information relating to the seeking of employment and employment education plans. A survey and paired t-test were conducted on 355 job applicants of vocational colleges and four-year universities. Through these applicants, the difference between the current level and level of importance dependent on areas of core competency was analyzed. In addition, IPA analysis was conducted in order to confirm the educational necessity in this area. As a result, there were significant differences between the current level and level of importance in all 10 areas. IPA analysis confirmed that educational needs are prioritized. As a result, it was found that the areas which should be strengthened in both groups were interpersonal ability, communication ability, numerical ability, problem solving ability, and self-development ability. The area recognized as being in 'a state of excess' was resource management ability. As a result of checking the necessity levels of the two groups, it was found that job applicants of vocational colleges had to strengthen their problem solving ability, and the applicants of four-year universities had to intensify their communication ability, interpersonal ability, and information ability.

In this paper, we analyzed academic curriculum of information security major in domestic university and in center of education contents, reviewed about eduction distinction direction in each university. Also in center of domestic information security industry, it compared and analyzed status of recruitment demand in each information security range and training student in the university, and analyzed whether to meet the degree of information security workforce. In addition, we were examined future needs and direction of the convergency field of information security personnel in terms of information security major curriculum.

Smart livestock has been proposed as a solution to increase farmers' income and new recruitment of livestock farmers. In this paper, a standardization Plan of breeding management device and collected information for smart livestock cattle was proposed. l Sophisticatedly, basic information will be established for all six types of livestock breeding management device: military automatic feeder, calf automatic feeder, smart milk cooler, feed bin to be able to measure feed residue, smart scale, and biometric information collection device. The standardization, common use, and stabilization of major livestock management device and collected information were suggested to solve the problems caused by in existing breeding management device.

In this paper, we study the relationship between vacancy duration and information items of a job posting by using generalized linear models and a decision tree analysis w.r.t. the three factors such as company characteristics, employment conditions, and constraints. The results indicate that the employment conditions rather than company characteristics are more influential to the vacancy duration. These effects are presumed to be based on the complex relations between the decisions of the employers and the job seekers. And in this paper we suggest the need to provide personalized and profiled labor market information tailored for a quick decision to job seekers and employers. Policy implication is that since employer's decision affects the vacation duration, employers may had better to provide a comprehensive labour market information including supply and demand of the required skills in order to reduce the time for judgment on the cost-effectiveness.

There have been several studies on the key issues in information systems (IS) management. This study replicates the Society for Information Management (SIM) survey done in U.S.A. to investigate the key issues in IS management in Korea. This survey focused especially on the professions in financial institutions. A three-round Delphi method was employed to collect the opinions of participants and obtain a reasonable level of consensus about the key IS management issues of financial institutions in Korea. The number one issue identified was top management support, followed by recruitment and development of IS human resources. This article also compares the key IS management issues of financial institutions and those of manufacturing industries in Korea.
