  • Recently, Hou and others introduced a (2, n) block-based progressive visual cryptographic scheme (BPVCS) in which image blocks can be gradually recovered step by step. In Hou and others' (2, n)-BPVCS, a secret image is subdivided into n non-overlapping image blocks. When t ($2{\leq}t{\leq} n$) participants stack their shadow images, all the image blocks associated with these t participants will be recovered. However, Hou and others' scheme is only a simple 2-out-of-n case. In this paper, we discuss a general (k, n)-BPVCS for any k and n. Our main contribution is to give two constructions (Construction 1 and Construction 2) of this general (k, n)-BPVCS. Also, we theoretically prove that both constructions satisfy a threshold property and progressive recovery of the proposed (k, n)-BPVCS. For k = 2, Construction 1 is reduced to Hou and others' (2, n)-BPVCS.

  • Several analytic models describe transmission control protocol (TCP) performance such as steady-state throughput as an averaged ratio of number of transmissions to latency. For more detailed analysis of TCP latency, the latency during packet losses are recovered should be considered. In this paper, we derive the expected duration of loss recovery latency considering the number of packet losses recovered by retransmissions. Based on the numerical results verified by simulations, TCP using selective acknowledgement (SACK) option is more effective than TCP NewReno from the aspect of loss recovery latency.

  • The inverse scattering problem is investigated for some second order differential equation with a nonlinear spectral parameter in the boundary condition on the half line [0, $\infty$). In the present paper the coefficient of spectral parameter is not a pure imaginary number and the boundary value problem is not selfadjoint. We define the scattering data of the problem, derive the main integral equation and show that the potential is uniquely recovered.

  • For the first time in Korea, a 30kVA superconducting generator has been designed, developed and successfully tested recently. This is the forerunner of a 1MVA superconducting generator which is currently under development. The paper discusses the design, development and cooling experience of a superconducting rotor. This has 3 passages of the recovered Helium gas and a gas flow control system.

  • In this paper, a controller design method for uncertain linear systems by output feedback is proposed. This method utilizes the LQG/LTR procedure for systems with uncertainties described in the time domain. It is assumed that the uncertainties satisfy the matching conditions and their bounds are known. First, a robust state feedback controller design method is introduced. Then, it is asymtotically recovered for the output feedback system by the loop transfer recovery(LTR) method under a certain condition.

  • The intrapulmonary teratoma is an extremely tumor. This paper reports a case of int-rapulmonary teratoma located in the right upper and middle lobes of the lung in a 16-years-old male patient. The initial symptoms were right chest pain and coughing. Chest X-ray revealed huge soft tissue mass density in the right lower lung field. Right upper and middle lobectomy with resection of invaded pericardium was done. The gross and microscopic findings of res-ected specimen revealed characteristic findings of the intrapulmonary teratoma. The patient was recovered uneventually. We would like to describe this case of rare tumor with the review of literatures.

  • In this paper, several energy recovery circuits (ERC) for the plasma display panel (PDP) are reviewed and classified in a manner of operation characteristics. A typical ERC using the Regenerative Transformer (RT) is introduced and compared with conventional ones. RT-ERC can achieve zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) for main full-bridge switches and zero-current-switching (ZCS) for the resonant switches and diodes. The charging/discharging energy of panel capacitance is efficiently recovered with the RT and without a sub-circuit. The presented circuit is verified with simulation and experimental results.

  • In this paper, we proposed an algorithm to improve the memory efficiency by means of learning thresholds in spite of correlations among input patterns to be memorized. The proposed algorithm does not need preprocess correlations among input patterns but processes them with a threshold on a neural network. When memory contents are destroyed by correlation, nearly all patterns can be properly recovered with past learning. Through experiments we show how out algorithm can improve the memory efficiency.

  • In this paper we study recollements of abelian categories and balanced pairs. The main results are: recollements induce new balanced pairs from the middle category; the resolution dimensions are bounded under certain conditions. As an application, the resolution dimensions with respect to cotilting objects of abelian categories involved in recollements are recovered.

  • A neural network of multi layer perception type, learned by error back propagation learning rule, is generally used for the verification or clustering of similar type of patterns. When learning is completed, the network has a constant value of output depending on a pattern. This paper shows that the intensity of neuron's out put can be controlled by a function which intensifies the excitatory interconnection coefficients or the inhibitory one between neurons in output layer and those in hidden layer. In this paper the value of factor in the function to control the output is derived from the know values of the neural network after learning is completed And also this paper show that the amount of an increased neuron's output in output layer by arbitary value of the factor is derived. For the applications increased recognition performance of a pattern than has distortion is introduced and the output of partially damaged neurons are first managed and this paper shows that the reduced recognition performance can be recovered.
