The CAMS(Central Archives Management System) of NAK(National Archives of Korea) is an important system which receives and manages large amount of electronic records annually from 2015. From the point of view in database design, this paper analyzes the database schema of CAMS and discusses the direction of overall improvement of the CAMS. Firstly this research analyzes the tables for records and folders in the CAMS database which are core tables for the electronic records management. As a result, researchers notice that it is difficult to trust the quality of the records in the CAMS, because two core tables are entirely not normalized and have many columns whose roles are unknown. Secondly, this study suggests directions of normalization for the tables for records and folders in the CAMS database like followings: First, redistributing the columns into proper tables to reduce the duplication. Second, separating the columns about the classification scheme into separate tables. Third, separating the columns about the records types and sorts into separate tables. Lastly, separating metadata information related to the acquisition, takeover and preservation into separate tables. Thirdly, this paper suggests considerations to design and manage the database schema in each phase of archival management. In the ingest phase, the system should be able to process large amount of records as batch jobs in time annually. In the preservation phase, the system should be able to keep the management histories in the CAMS as audit trails including the reclassification, revaluation, and preservation activities related to the records. In the access phase, the descriptive metadata sets for the access should be selected and confirmed in various ways. Lastly, this research also shows the prototype of conceptual database schema for the CAMS which fulfills the metadata standards for records.
Recently, with more severe types felonies such as robbery and sexual violence, the importance of crime prediction and prevention is emphasized. For accurate and prompt crime prediction and prevention, both a classification model of crime with high accuracy based on past criminal records and well-designed system interface are required. However previous studies on the analysis of crime factors have limitations in terms of accuracy due to the difficulty of data preprocessing. In addition, existing crime monitoring systems merely offer a vast amount of crime analysis results, thereby they fail to provide users with functions for more effective monitoring. In this paper, we propose a classification model for types of crime based on random-forest algorithms and system design factors for real-time crime prediction. From our experiments, we proved that our proposed classification model is superior to others that only use criminal records in terms of accuracy. Through the analysis of existing crime monitoring systems, we also designed and developed a system for real-time crime monitoring.
This paper surveyed and analyzed cases of DB development overseas to set the range of DB to be developed for analyzing energy-saving policies in the domestic transportation sector. The foregoing prerequisites were used to establish system for classification in the broad scale under which system for classification in detail indicators that suit one in the broader indicators was set based on analysis of domestic / overseas cases to determine DB development range in the transportation sector required to analysis domestic energy-saving policies. Accordingly, six items subject to the broadest classification were determined, i.e. energy consumption, energy basic unit, emissions of greenhouse gas, economic indicators, transportation volume / transportation records and basic automobile data. Large classification and sub-items determined by surveying expert opinions were set and proposed as DB classification indicators.
Today the market of EDMS is esteemed more than 100 billions won. It signifies a comming of age of electronic records. The traditional archival theories which are based on the paper records are confronted with a new challenge. In some leading countries of archival studies reorientation of archives management has been tried by a number of distinguished specialists such as Bearman and Hedstrom since 10 years. As a consequence new paradigm of archival theories has been developed. Also in Korea this new paradigm has been introduced by some expert such as Lee, Sang-Min, Sul, Moon-won, Lee, Seung-Eok. However their arguments are too general to offer a concrete clue for new paradigm. Faced by new age of electronic records, it's important to start a discussion for the reasonable methods of electronic records management at once. The most drastically changed part of record management by the electronic technique is the life-cycle of records. The commonly practiced three-stage life-cycle is to be reduced to the two-stage life-cycle, and the concept of the spatial movement of records is to be changed. It can be also pointed that the public emerges as user from the early creating stage of records beyond time and space. Thus is can be said that the method of the management features dynamic and cohesive. The method of appraisal must be also changed and reproduced, so that it can reflect the various levels considering dynamics of the electronic records. Supposedly it will be a core factor that causes the change of methodology in records management with the change of life-cycle theory. It must be noted that various subjects would be involved in the work of classification and description over time and space and that feedback between them is of important. Description also tends to be made at the crating stage of records and structured dynamically. It results from the change of life-cycle and the introduction of the concept of continuum. Such trend allows us to start discussions on the assumption that description of both creator and archival professionals act together an important role. Of course, it is linked with the methodology in which most descriptions are made automatically at the early drafting stage of the structure. The meat date is formed on the assumption that there should be feedback between areas of automatic description, description of creators and archival professionals. The most important thing in description is to develop a suitable way how it is structured. An alternative must be offered for managing data set. As iweb that is being operated by Myongji university shows, records created in daily business are managed not as electronic records but as date base. This is because they exist outside the repository in the EDMS system. Since data set often has various sources, an alternative for classification needs to be developed. It is now likely that database is filed according to the created year to be transferred automatically to the repository. Over a long-term the total management of database, electronic records and electronic information will be a topic. A right direction of new paradigm will be found for both iweb and E-government, when practice and studies of theories are combined and interacted.

This study was conducted to create a digital archive for local cultural contents compiled from the records of westerners who visited Korea during the Enlightenment Period of Chosun. The compiled information were gathered from 11 records, and 10 main subjects and 120 sub-subjects were derived through the subject classification scheme. Item analysis was conducted through 37 metadata, and input data types were classified and databased in Excel. Finally, a model of the digital archive system was simulated, and a webpage consisting of five menus was presented. Suggestions for future research were extensive aggregation of new data for archive expansion, active connections between archive systems, standardization of systems, and improved system design for compatibility and user-friendliness.

Since the Public Records Management Act was enacted in 2007, the administrative information system has already been included in the electronic records production system, and dataset has been subject to record management as a type of electronic records. With the recent revision of the enforcement decree, dataset records management has been enacted. This study analyzes business units related to administrative information systems of public institutions and examines the current status of retention periods estimation. For this purpose, we collected 36 records classification systems from 49 public institutions among the direct management agencies of the National Archives and disaster management agencies. And we discriminated 824 business units related to administrative information system and divided into large and small groups according to types. We also compared the retention period estimation of records. The problems and improvement plans of this study are expected to be used as basic data in preparing the standard of administrative dataset management in the future.

Seongbuk Village Archive is a village archive built by Seongbuk-gu Office and Seongbuk Cultural Center to contain the uniqueness and specificity of the region. It is a community archive that preserves the records of the community and a digital archive that builds a database through the digitalization of source data. The management system and home page were established through annual and step-by-step promotion through public-private governance. Seongbuk Village Archive's system is designed to facilitate data accumulation and connection between individual records based on the advanced village record standard classification system. Based on this, Seongbuk Cultural Center tried to produce convergence cultural content by linking records online and off-line. In addition, the composition of items displayed on the website has been diversified to not only preserve records but also produce and utilize content. It is a structure created after contemplating how to show the creation and existence of Seongbuk's historical and cultural resources to users in context. In addition, a richer archive platform was built through various curations and activities of the resident record group.
Purpose The purpose of this study is to identify problems of current educational facility data management and recommend a standardized terminology classification system as a solution. In addition, the research aims to present a preemptive and integrated disaster and safety management framework for educational facilities by seeking efficient business processes through secured data quality, systematic data management, and external data linkage and analysis. Design/methodology/approach A terminology classification system has been established through various processes including filtering and analysis of related data including laws, manuals, educational facilities accidents, and historical records. Furthermore, the terminology classification system has been further reviewed through several consultations with experts and practitioners. In addition, the accumulated data was refined according to the established standard terminology and an Excel database was developed. There had been substantial demand for record management system with which to efficiently control the information circulation processes, involving accumulation of recorded materials, classification of information resources, and users access to them. It converged to a collaboration of Australian federation, and Sydney Records Centre and finally induced Australian Standard Records Management, commonly known as AS 4390. AS 4390 served later as a model for International Standard of Record Management. This paper introduces the current undertaking of Recordkeeping system development in Australia, which stems from the line of AS 4390 by analysing exhibited research approaches. The analysis includes the definition, regime of Recordkeeping system, design and implementing of guidelines of Recordkeeping System and information on metadata projects. It also highlights the necessity for standardization, as is the prime factor in promoting inter-linking of Tabularium on New Southwales State, CRS(Commonwealth Record Series), database system of Canberra National Archives and Australian Government Locator Service. From year 2005, as dictates, any record management system, serving public agency will be required to adapt Professional Archives Management System, which, by far, will enhance the inter-compatibility. In its application, the government need Thesaurus to eliminate possible redundancy in use of terminology and to promote correct usage of words.
