Background: Medication errors are common but most often preventable events in any health care setup. Studies on medication errors involving chemotherapeutic drugs are limited. Objective: We studied three aspects of medication errors - prescription, transcription and administration errors in 500 cancer patients who received ambulatory cancer chemotherapy at a resource limited setting government hospital attached cancer centre in South India. The frequency of medication errors, their types and the possible reasons for their occurrence were analysed. Design and Methods: Cross-sectional study using direct observation and chart review in anmbulatory day care unit of a Regional Cancer Centre in South India. Prescription charts of 500 patients during a three month time period were studied and errors analysed. Transcription errors were estimated from the nurses records for these 500 patients who were prescribed anticancer medications or premedication to be administered in the day care centre, direct observations were made during drug administration and administration errors analysed. Medical oncologists prescribing anticancer medications and nurses administering medications also participated. Results: A total of 500 patient observations were made and 41.6% medication errors were detected. Among the total observed errors, 114 (54.8%) were prescription errors, 51(24.5%) were transcribing errors and 43 (20.7%) were administration errors. The majority of the prescription errors were due to missing information (45.5%) and administration errors were mainly due to errors in drug reconstitution (55.8%). There were no life threatening events during the observation period since most of the errors were either intercepted before reaching the patient or were trivial. Conclusions: A high rate of potentially harmful medication errors were intercepted at the ambulatory day care unit of our regional cancer centre. Suggestions have been made to reduce errors in the future by adoption of computerised prescriptions and periodic sensitisation of the responsible health personnel.
Cord blood is a useful source of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cells for bone marrow reconstitution. The number of umbilical cord blood transplants is increasing worldwide. In this a case 15-month-old boy with acute myeloid leukemia was treated with umbilical cord blood transplant from an HLA-3 loci mismatched unrelated donor. Granulocyte recovery greater than $500/mm^3$ occurred at day 49, and the platelet recovered greater than $20,000/mm^3$ independent of transfusion at day 81 after stem cell infusion.
This paper aims to realize the information of a subject existing in a still image with objective values. To attain the goal, this research takes the vanishing point that a 2D still image has as the basis and recomposes the still image into a 3D image using a 3D program. Also, in order to set up the axis of the camera necessary to recompose a 3D image, this paper used the lens angle of view that the image has and floor patterns as well. The 3D image completed in this way can measure the size and distance of all subjects in the floor patterns if the size value of a particular reference subject is known, and through this, it can be possible to acquire basic information of a subject that can be either a criminal or a clue in the images of CCTVs or some criminal scene.
The present aspect of the Seoggulam is the result of natural weathering of the rocks and influences by mankind. The rocks constituting the Seoggulam is granodiorite of medium and coarse grains which show brown to dark brown weathered surface resulted mainly from chemical weathering of feldspars. It also shows partly milky white or black colors due to influences by weathering products of cement used in the concrete dome and cracks. There are cracks and crack zones with very small cracks which may be formed by strong weathering and influences of shocks during operations of reconstitution and repair. However, for the better conservation, it must be considered to maintain the balances of temperature and moisture, especially relative moisture in places within the room, structural stability, and the influences of vibration made up by some reasons.

Cytochrome cL (CytcL) is an essential protein in the process of methanol oxidation in methylotrophs. It receives an electron from the pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) cofactor of methanol dehydrogenase (MDH) to produce formaldehyde. The direct electron transfer mechanism between CytcL and MDH remains unknown due to the lack of structural information. To help gain a better understanding of the mechanism, we determined the first crystal structure of heme c containing CytcL from the aquatic methylotrophic bacterium Methylophaga aminisulfidivorans MPT at 2.13 Å resolution. The crystal structure of Ma-CytcL revealed its unique features compared to those of the terrestrial homologues. Apart from Fe in heme, three additional metal ion binding sites for Na+, Ca+, and Fe2+ were found, wherein the ions mostly formed coordination bonds with the amino acid residues on the loop (G93-Y111) that interacts with heme. Therefore, these ions seemed to enhance the stability of heme insertion by increasing the loop's steadiness. The basic N-terminal end, together with helix α4 and loop (G126 to Y136), contributed positive charge to the region. In contrast, the acidic C-terminal end provided a negatively charged surface, yielding several electrostatic contact points with partner proteins for electron transfer. These exceptional features of Ma-CytcL, along with the structural information of MDH, led us to hypothesize the need for an adapter protein bridging MDH to CytcL within appropriate proximity for electron transfer. With this knowledge in mind, the methanol oxidation complex reconstitution in vitro could be utilized to produce metabolic intermediates at the industry level.
The prominent line at the singe image is the important fact for understanding spatial structure or estimating aesthetic scoring. According to this thesis, the abstraction of the background line helps analyzing vanishing point, reconstitution of 3 dimensions, and determining of image sloppiness. It also makes easy to calculate the rule of thirds. This thesis is composed of section hough transform mapping, prioritizing of the prominent line, and selection of the prominent line. These technologies are departmentalized to be applied abstraction of traffic lane, analyzing of building structure, abstraction of vanishing point, and abstraction of straight line documentation. This gives the choice that users are able to compose technology by considering characteristic of objects and luminous environment. This thesis also can be applied to abstract circle. The interval hough transform is able to select the number of prominent line which users want to abstract. It can analyze important prominent line numbers at the image and then abstract the lines, too. Results of prominent lines by experiments would be show at this thesis.
In the present study, two kinds of D-xylanases (1, 4-$\beta$-D-xylan xylanohydrolase (EC 3.2.1.8) were purified and characterized from crude extract of Aspergillus niger KG79. Xylanase I was most active at pH 5.0, whereas xylanse II at pH 4.0 Both enzymes demonstrated their maximum activity at 45$^{\circ}C$. They were relatively stable between pH 4.0 and 6.0 at 3$0^{\circ}C$ for 6 hours. Molecular weight of xylanse I and II were 12, 500 and 11, 500, respectively. Michaelis-Menten constants of xylanse I and II were 0.28% and 0.26% of xylan, respectively. Both enzymes could degrade commercial D-xylan to xylose, xylobiose, and xylotriose to the degree of about 10% of total reducing power. Xylanse I could, however, liberate arabinose from barley straw xylan in addition to xylose and xylooligasaccharides more rapidly than xylanase II. The degree of hydrolysis was about 25%. The reconstituted D-xylanase system with purified xylanases and $\beta$-xylosidase degraded commercial xylan and barley straw xylan to the degree of 28% and 54% respectively. The limit of hydrolysis by the enzymes was suggested to be resulted from the physical structure of the substrate.
Among the Shc proteins, p66shc is known to be related to oxidative stress responses and regulation of the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). The present study was undertaken to investigate the role of p66shc on endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) activity in the mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs). When wild type (WT) or p66shc (-/-) MEFs were transfected with full length of eNOS cDNA, the expression and activity of eNOS protein were higher in the p66shc (-/-) MEFs. These phenomena were reversed by reconstitution of p66shc cDNA transfection in the p66shc (-/-) MEFs. The basal superoxide production in the p66shc (-/-) MEFs was not significantly different from that of WT of MEFs. However, superoxide production induced by NADPH in the p66shc (-/-) MEF was lesser than that in WT MEFs. When compared with WT MEFs, cell lysate of p66shc (-/-) MEFs showed significantly increased H-ras activity without change of endogenous H-ras expression. Our findings suggest the pivotal role of p66shc adaptor protein played in inhibition of endothelial nitric oxide production via modulation of the expression and/or activity of eNOS protein.
An instant labelling technique for lyophilized pyrophosphate with $^{99m}$Tc is described labelling yield of about 90% is obtained at the pH range 3.5-5.5 on reconstitution with sodium pertechnetate-$^{99m}$ Tc solution. The final product is controlled by a modified two dimensional paper chromatography using 85% methanol and 0.85% saline, and biodynamic investigations are performed on white mice. Generally, the less amount of stannous chloride is used. the higher labelling yield is obtained. The molar ratio of pyrophosphate to stannous chloride of 10 : 1 ~ 50 : 1 is sufficient. The more amount of reduced unbound $^{99m}$Tc is injected, the more radioactivity is incorporated in the liver. Thus. the cause of the false bone-imaging is attributable to the presence of reduced unbound $^{99m}$Tc which is known to be well adsorbed to oxidized tin colloidals. The maximum uptake ratio of bone: liver in mice, in weight basis, 35 : 1 is achieved in lime of 60 min. or so. Tile preparation is suitable for clinical investigations on patients with bone diseases.iseases.

Background: An increasing trend of cytotoxic drug use, mainly in cancer treatment, has increased the occupational exposure among the nurses. This study aimed to assess the change of nurses' safety-related knowledge as well as attitude levels and subsequently to assess the change of cytotoxic drug handling practices in wards after a series of pharmacist-based interventions. Materials and Methods: This prospective interventional study with a before and after design requested a single group of 96 nurses in 15 wards actively providing chemotherapy to answer a self-administered questionnaire. A performance checklist was then used to determine the compliance of all these wards with the recommended safety measures. The first and second assessments took 2 months respectively with a 9-month intervention period. Pharmacist-based interventions included a series of technical, educational and administrative support measures consisting of the initiation of closed-system cytotoxic drug reconstitution (CDR) services, courses, training workshops and guideline updates. Results: The mean age of nurses was $32.2{\pm}6.19$ years. Most of them were female (93.8%) and married (72.9%). The mean knowledge score of nurses was significantly increased from $45.5{\pm}10.52$ to $73.4{\pm}8.88$ out of 100 (p<0.001) at the end of the second assessment. Overall, the mean practice score among the wards was improved from $7.6{\pm}5.51$ to $15.3{\pm}2.55$ out of 20 (p<0.001). Conclusions: The pharmacist-based interventions improved the knowledge, attitude and safe practices of nurses in cytotoxic drug handling. Further assessment may help to confirm the sustainability of the improved practices.
