한국인 표준 얼굴 표정 이미지의 감성 인식 정확률 (The Accuracy of Recognizing Emotion From Korean Standard Facial Expression)

  • 본 논문은 국내 표정 연구에 적합한 얼굴 표정 이미지를 제작하는 것에 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해서 1980년대 태생의 한국인의 표준 형상에 FACS-Action Unit을 결합하여, KSFI(Korean Standard Facial Image) AU set를 제작하였다. KSFI의 객관성을 확보하기 위해 6가지 기본 감성(슬픔, 행복, 혐오, 공포, 화남, 놀람) 이미지를 제작하여, 감성 별 인식 정확률과 얼굴 요소의 감성인식 기여도를 평가하였다. 실험 결과, 정확률이 높은 행복, 놀람, 슬픔, 분노의 이미지의 경우 주로 눈과 입의 얼굴 요소를 통해 감성을 판단하였다. 이러한 연구 결과를 통해 본 연구에서는 표정 이미지의 AU 변경할 수 있는 KSFI 콘텐츠를 제안하였다. 향후 KSFI가 감성 인식률 향상에 기여할 수 있는 학습 콘텐츠로서의 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

개선된 Google Activity Recognition을 이용한 상황인지 모델 (Context Awareness Model using the Improved Google Activity Recognition)

  • 사용자의 상황에 따라 유용한 정보를 제공할 수 있는 행위인식 기술은 최근 많은 주목을 받고 있다. 스마트폰이 보급되기 전 행위인식 연구에서는 독립된 센서를 사용하여 사용자의 행위를 추론해야 했지만, 현재는 IT산업의 발달로 스마트폰의 내부 센서를 사용해 사용자의 행위를 추론할 수 있게 되었다. 따라서 행위인식 분야의 연구가 더욱 활발히 진행되고 있다. 행위인식 기술을 응용하면 사용자의 선호도에 따라 애플리케이션을 추천하거나 경로 정보를 제공하는 서비스 등을 개발할 수 있다. 기존의 행위인식 시스템들은 GPS를 이용하기 때문에 전력을 많이 소모한다는 단점이 있다. 반면에 최근 Google에서 발표한 행위인식(Google Activity Recognition) 시스템은 Network Provider를 이용하기 때문에 GPS 방식에 비해 전력소모가 적어 휴대해야 하는 스마트폰 응용 시스템에 적합하다. 하지만 Google Activity Recognition의 성능을 테스트한 결과 불필요한 행위 항목과 일부 잘못된 상황인지로 인해 정확한 사용자 행위를 파악하기 어렵다는 것을 발견했다. 행위인식 기술을 기반으로 한 새로운 서비스 개발을 위해 더욱 정확한 상황인지가 필요하므로 본 논문에서는 GAR의 문제점을 기술하고 정확도를 높이는 개선 방법을 적용한 AGAR(Advanced Google Activity Recognition)을 제안한다. 또한 AGAR의 이용가치를 평가하기 위하여 다른 여러 행위인식 시스템과 성능과 전력소모량을 비교분석하고 AGAR을 검증하는 예시 프로그램을 개발하여 응용 가능성을 설명한다.

Analysis of Promoter Elements for Transcriptional Expression of Rat p53 Gene in Regenerating Liver

  • We previously found three transcription factor-binding motifs in the rat p53 promoter. They are two recognition motifs of NF1-like protein (NF1-like element 1: -296 ~ -312, NF1-like element 2: -195 ~ -219) and a bHLH protein binding element (-142 ~ -146). In this study, we investigated the DNA-protein complex formation of the three elements with nuclear extracts from both normal and regenerating liver to find the element involved in the induced transcription of p53. The level of each DNA-protein complex on NF1-like and bHLH motifs was not changed. Instead, a new element located at -264 ~ -284 was detected in the DNase I footprinting assay with regenerating nuclear extract. This element has partial homology to the AP1 consensus motif. However, the competition studies with diverse oligonucleotides suggest that the binding protein is not AP1. An in vitro transcription assay shows that this element is important for the transcriptional activation of the rat p53 promoter. Therefore, for the induced transcription of the rat p53 promoter, the-264 ~ -284 region is required in addition to two NF1-like and one bHLH motif.

Roles of Transcription Factor Binding Sites in the D-raf Promoter Region

  • D-raf, a Drosophila homolog of the human c-raf-1, is known as a signal transducer in cell proliferation and differentiation. A previous study found that the D-raf gene expression is regulated by the DNA replication-related element (DRE)/DRE-binding factor (DREF) system. In this study, we found the sequences homologous to transcription factor C/EBP, MyoD, STAT and Myc recognition sites in the D-raf promoter. We have generated various base substitutional mutations in these recognition sites and subsequently examined their effects on D-raf promoter activity through transient CAT assays in Kc cells with reporter plasmids p5'-878DrafCAT carrying the mutations in these binding sites. Through gel mobility shift assay using nuclear extracts of Kc cells, we detected factors binding to these recognition sites. Our results show that transcription factor C/EBP, STAT and Myc binding sites in D-raf promoter region play a positive role in transcriptional regulation of the D-raf gene and the Myo D binding site plays a negative role.

바코드 인식/검사를 위한 영상인식 알고리즘 (In Image Recognition Algorithm for Bar-Code Recognition/Inspection)

  • 본 논문에서는 산업용으로 주로 사용되고 있는 바코드(code 93)를 비전시스템을 이용하여 자동으로 인식할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 입력된 바코드 영상에 대해 회전에 관계없이 각도를 자동 추출하여, 모듈 (module)을 구성하는 화소들을 추출한다. 각 모듈에 대해 적웅적인 방법으로 바(bar)와 스페이스(space)를 구성하는 엘리먼트(element) 값을 구하고, 심벌 문자들의 엘리먼트 값을 9개의 그룹으로 나누어 바코드 값을 인식한다. 여러 종류의 바코드 영상을 대상으로 모의실험을 수행하여, 제안한 알고리즘의 성능을 검증하였다.

  • $\textbullet$ This paper deals with obstacle avoidance of a quadruped robot with a vision system and a PSD sensor. $\textbullet$ The vision system needs for obstacle recognition toward robot. $\textbullet$ Ths PSD sensor is also important element for obstacle recognition. $\textbullet$ We propose algorithm that recognizes obstacles with one vision and PSD sensor. $\textbullet$ We also propose obstacle avoidance algorithm with map from obstacle recognition algorithm. $\textbullet$ Using these algorithm, Quadruped robot can generate gait trajectory. $\textbullet$ Therefore, robot can avoid obstacls, and can move to target point.

  • Features are well recognized to play an important role for the integration of ACD and CAPP. Majority of pervious works for the feature recognition for prismatic part is based on 3D solid model. But in real factories, 2D drawing are used more than 3D drawings. In this paper, we develope an algorithm of the feature recognition on prismatic parts in 2D drawings, using by the graph method and the heuristic algorithm. Previous algorithms have some conflicts at feature interaction. In this paper, elements are grouped into connection by the graph method. Then features are recognized by using these grouped elements and their relationships of front and side-view. For resolving the problem of feature interaction, the element graphs are modified by an deloped algorithm. This algorithm is applied to a CAPP system for milling process planning.

A recognition of hand written Hangul by parallel procedure of character segments and structure

  • In general, recognition of Hand written characters requires to apply an algorithm which takes into consideration of the individual differences. Considering the differences, the authors propose a new method for recognizing Hand written Hangul by parallel procedure analyzing both the segments and the structure of the character. In the previous recognition method proposed by the authors two severe restrictions were placed. The element representing consonant/O/ was closed, and the character elements were separated each other. In order to remove these two restrictions, the authors propose an improved algorithm. It is shown that Hangul in its simplified form is well recognized by using this improved algorithm.

조망 경관에 대한 아파트 거주자들의 인지 특성 (The Tendencies in Apartment Inhabitants' Recognition of Landscape Elements)

  • This study is intended to understand the intrinsic attributes of the view from the apartment unit in consideration of the diverse and complex elements of the view. To this end, the Questionnaire survey was conducted to identify the tendency in the recognition by apartment dwellers. The Questionnaire survey was conducted for the apartment residents to identify their interest in and the general trend in their recognition of the view from the living rooms of their housing unit, where Questionnaire items regarding landscape elements, the distances to and location of the landscape elements, and floor locations were compiled on the basis of the results from the field survey in the previous study. Consequently, the following results have been derived. 1) Apartment residents recognize not only natural landscape elements but also artificial elements, and prefer natural elements to artificial ones. 2) It is also indicated that they recognize the distances to and locations of landscape elements and that the satisfaction for the distance and location varies depending on the type of the landscape elements. 3) Furthermore, the floor of each unit is shown to result in certain differences in the recognized landscape elements. The cross-analysis between the floor and satisfaction indicates that the higher the floor, the more satisfied the residents are with the view.

초등과학교육에서 지구시스템 인식강화를 위한 시스템사고 교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용효과 (The Development and Applying Effects of Systems Thinking Teaching Program for Improving Recognition of the Earth Systems in Elementary Science Education)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the applying possibility of the Earth Systems Education(ESE) in elementary school science education through the improving of students' recognition with the earth systematic nature by systems thinking education - for this was the recognizing as earth systematic nature was the key element of ESE, and the systems thinking skill is accredited very effective tool for the understanding with earth systematic nature. For this, the systems thinking's teaching-learning programs were developed and applied to the 6th students (21s) for 10hours' classes. The results of this study are as follows; In most of the 6th students didn't recognize with earth systematic nature from a lack of understanding of the vapor being in every nature environments. In systems teaching-learning classes, most of students participated positively in learning activities and achieved the aim of a lesson. In the testing results for students' recognition improving to earth systematic nature after the systems thinking education, about 24% students were showed the improving results of the recognition with earth systematic nature. Consequently, It is suggested that just as the achieving of the points of ESE in elementary school science education, the approaching method of the systems thinking education is worth attempting to applying of the ESE.
