Groundwater recharge rate can be estimated from groundwater head rebound due to rainfall. Groundwater level changes are monitored for 10 months at Yugu area. Difference between two recharge rates calculated by rainfall and by effective rainfall is 1.1%~1.6%. Since this method ignores soil water percolation during groundwater level regression, the actual recharge rate may be higher than estimated one by cumulative rainfall and groundwater level change.
In this paper, method for the determination of removal time of the side forms in high strength concrete are discussed using the estimation model of compressive strength development, the development of bond strength and rebound number of P type Schmidt hammer in order to review the validity of existing regulation as to side form removal and offer effective quality control method. According to the results, as W/B increases by $10\%$, the setting time is shortened by about 2 hours. In the scope of the paper, required time to gain 8MPa of compressive strength is determined about 17 ${\~}$20 hours of age and $21{\~}25^{\circ}D{\cdot}D$ of maturity. Bond strength between form and concrete shows the highest value around final setting time, but decreases drastically after that. Amount of concrete sticking on the form is large before setting completed, but after that, its amount shows decline tendency. The rebound value test with P type schmidt hammer can be started faster by 2${\~}$3 hours than compressive strength test. It is also confirmed that the removal of forms is possible when the rebound value of P type schmidt hammer is more than 32. It is found from the results that existing regulation regarding removal time of the side form of high strength concrete provided in KCI needs no revision because required time to gain the strength provided in KCI has no adverse effect on strength development at early age and surface condition during stripping the side form. Effective procedure to decide the removal time of side form can be performed by applying P type Schmidt hammer.

This study proposes non-destructive rebound-hardness and ultrasonic testing methods to more accurately evaluate the residual structural performance of reinforced concrete structures in a fire. Techniques are also proposed to assess the stiffness used in the deflection calculation with natural frequencies obtained by vibration tests. In the compressive strength evaluation using rebound hardness, the residual compressive strength of thick specimens and a larger water/cement (W/C) ratio were shown to be large. The homogeneity of concrete at high temperature compared to ambient temperature conditions was assessed by the velocity of ultrasonic waves that penetrate the concrete, and it followed W/C or thickness of slab makes little different results. To assess the stiffness of fire-damaged slabs and increase in deflection, the natural frequency was measured by vibration tests and incorporated into the equation of the stiffness. The application of this technique to the slab experiment showed that it can be a very reasonable evaluation technique. In addition, to evaluate the residual strength of a member after fire, a test of the strength of a component was carried out during and after heating.

Leakage due to deterioration and damage is one of the major causes of volume change by freezing and thawing, and it leads micro-cracking and surface scaling in concrete structures. The deterioration of damaged concrete accelerates with the chloride attack. Thus, in the detailed guidelines for facility performance evaluation (2020), the quality of cover concrete and the freeze-thaw (FT) repetition cycle were newly suggested for concrete durability assessment. The quality of cover concrete should be evaluated by the rebound hammer test and the FT repetition cycle should be also considered in the deterioration environmental assessment. This study suggested the application of fast dynamic based nonlinear ultrasound method to monitor initial micro-scale damage under freezing and thawing environment. Concrete specimens were fabricated with different water-cement ratios (40%, 60%) and air contents (1.5% and 3.0%). The compressive strength, rebound number, relative dynamic modulus, and nonlinear ultrasound were measured with different FT cycles. The scanning electron microscopy was also performed to investigate the micro-scale FT damage. As a result, both the rebound number and the relative dynamic modulus had difficulty to detect early damage but the proposed method showed a potential to detect initial micro-scale damage and predict the FT resistance performance of concrete.

Pullout test known as Lok test among the test methods to evaluate concrete strength strength is a test method which is used to decide the form removal time by assessing the early strength of concrete in a new construction, or to control the quality of newly placed concrete. This method has inconvenience to place inserts on the form work in advance, however, the placing work is quite simple and it has advantage that the strength can be measured at field as long as the inserts are placed. In this study, the first step is to investigate the properties of test method itself, by performing the laboratory test which covers deviation of the method and factors affecting the results, etc. The second step is to correlate the result with cylinder strength and other NDT methods such as rebound hammer, ultrasonic method, etc. And that, the results are compared with foreign results to find the differences between the two. In this research, new factors such as moisture content, area of aggregate failure cross section and area of aggregate separation cross section, etc as well as wate-cement ratio and age are investigated.

The domestic auger-drilled pile method generally manages the driving penetration (set) value with the final stage of construction. The penetration value has been estimated by manual measurement for a long time. The automation technology is yet to be applied due to workability and high-cost limitations, despite safety issues and lack of reliability in measured results. In this study, a non-contact pile penetration measurement device was developed. Further, the field performance was verified by comparing the measurements with a conventional automation device. In addition, the on-site field quality control method was analyzed using the penetration measuring device. The field experiments confirmed that more reliable bearing capacity estimation could calculate the dynamic damping coefficient and the modified Hiley formula with the developed device. Furthermore, it can be used for pile construction management from the bearing capacity viewpoint, even for piles not subjected to dynamic load tests.

Measuring the compressive strength of concrete is a very important factor in the safety review of concrete structures. Concrete compressive strength measurement methods include destructive and non-destructive methods. The destructive method includes the uniaxial compression failure method, and the non-destructive method includes the rebound hardness method and the elastic wave measurement method. In this study, the type of measurement method and the effect of reinforcing bars inside the concrete were tested to examine the relationship between them. Regardless of the type of specimen, the average compressive strength by the elastic wave measurement method among the three experimental methods was greater than the average compressive strength by the other methods. When the specimen type is the same, the standard deviation of the measured values of the elastic wave measurement method is smaller than that of the other measurement methods, so it can be seen that the elastic wave measurement method does not show large variance in the measured values compared to the other two measurement methods. When the average compressive strength according to the test method for each specimen was compared with the average compressive strength of the compressive failure test method, the average compressive strength was measured to be high in the order of the elastic wave measurement method, the compression failure test, and the rebound hardness method. Since the measured values of the compressive strength of concrete are different depending on the method of measuring the compressive strength of concrete and the presence or absence of reinforcing bars inside the concrete, further research is required considering the effect of various concrete covers.
Non-destructive methods such as rebound hardness method and ultrasonic method are widely studied for evaluating the physical properties, condition and damage of concrete, but are not suitable for detecting delamination and cracks near the surface due to various constraints of the site as well as the accuracy. Therefore, in this study, the impact resonance method was applied to detect the separation cracks occurring near the surface of the concrete slab and bridge deck. As a next step, the principal component analysis were performed by extracting various features using the FFT data. As a result of principal component analysis, it was analyzed that the reliability was high in distinguishing defects in concrete. This feature extraction and application of principal component analysis can be used as basic data for future use of machine learning technique for the better accuracy.
Purpose: To compare the measurements of the rebound tonometer (RT), Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT) and noncontact tonometer (NCT) in patients who underwent penetrating keratoplasty (PKP), and to evaluate the reproducibility of the RT measurements. Methods: This study included 19 PKP eyes and 28 normal eyes. We compared the intraocular pressure (IOP) measurements of the GAT and NCT with the RT in both groups using Spearman's correlation analysis and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The IOP, as measured with an RT in each group, was assessed with respect to reproducibility using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Results: In normal eyes, there was no significant difference in the measurements obtained with the RT, GAT, and NCT (p > 0.050). In the patient group, the RT measurements were not significantly different from those of the GAT (p = 0.872), but they were significantly lower than those obtained with the NCT (p = 0.011). However, the RT measurements showed a relatively high correlation with those of the GAT and NCT (r = 0.770 and 0.879, respectively). The ICC of the RT was 0.986 for the PKP eye group and 0.961 for the normal eye group, both of which were highly reproducible. Conclusions: In PKP eyes, the measurements obtained with the RT showed a relatively high correlation with those of the GAT and NCT, and the repeatability of the RT measurements was high and similar to those for normal eyes. The RT can therefore be considered a useful method for measuring the IOP in PKP eyes.
