자동순항제어기에 의한 안전도 향상 효과 분석 (Evaluation of the Safety impact by Adaptive Cruise Control System)

  • This paper discusses the evaluation of the safety impact of the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system in Korea. To evaluate the safety impact, this paper suggests an analysis method by using the test scenario and field operational test data. The test scenario is composed to represent the main component factor of the ACC system and ACC related accident situation such as rear-end collision, lane-change, and road-curvature, etc. Also, from the field operation test data, the system's potential to increase the safety can be measured ideally. Besides, field operational testdata was used to revise the expected safety impact value as Korean road conditions. By using the proposed evaluation method, enhanced safety impact of the ACC system can be estimated scientifically.

확률기반 비신호교차로의 우회전 전용차로 설치 기준 정립 (Establishing Probability-Based Warrants for Right-Turn Lanes at Unsignalized Intersections)

  • PURPOSES : The objective of this study is to establish the traffic volume-based warrants of right-turn lanes at unsignalized intersections and to introduce a risk probability methodology based on the warrants. METHODS : In this study, a risk probability of a potential rear-end collision is applied between a right-turn vehicle and the immediately following through vehicle. Using the shifted negative exponential model and the compound probability theorem, the risk probability can be expressed as the function of directional volumes and the percentage of right-turns for a two-lane and four-lane highway, respectively. RESULTS : Based on the risk probablity, guidelines for installing right-turn lanes on two-lane and four-lane highways were developed. The risk probability also showed rationality by comparing with right-turn same-direction conflicts observed in-situ. CONCLUSIONS : The results of our study define the total approaching volumes to encourage a right-turn lane as a function of operating speed, percentage of right-turn, and number of lanes.

견인차-피견인차-주행차량의 3중 추돌사고 해석 (Analysis on Triple Rear-end Collision between Wrecker, Towed Car and Driving Car)

  • 사고 현장에서 사고 차량을 옮기거나 주차위반 차량을 견인사업소로 이동시키기 위해 주로 이용되고 있는 리프트식 견인차는 피견인차의 구동방식에 따라 차량의 전부 또는 후부을 들어 올려 구동 바퀴로 이동할 수 있도록 하는 특수차량이다. 본 논문에서는 견인중인 견인차와 이송중인 전륜 피견인차 및 일반 주행 중인 차량 사이에서 일어날 수 있는 3중 추돌사고를 일반적인 3중 추돌사고와 비교하여 견인 중에 발생하는 추돌사고가 얼마나 위험한지를 직접 확인한다. 각 차량은 CATIA를 이용하여 모델링하고 이를 상용 유한요소해석 프로그램인 ANSYS를 통하여 피견인차의 후부를 주행 차량이 들이 받는 추돌을 시뮬레이션한다. 또한 견인차가 피견인차를 들어 올려 발생되는 피견인차의 각도에 따른 추돌의 영향을 해석한다.

교통사고로 한방병원에 입원한 환자에 대한 후향적 분석 - 일개 한방병원을 중심으로 (A clinical analysis of Admission Patients in Korean Medicine Hospital due to Traffic Accident)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of inpatients who were admitted to Korean medicine hospital due to traffic accident. Methods : We analyzed statistical study in 137 patients, who had admitted to M korean medicine hospital, in Gimpo city, Gyeonggi Province from January 1st, 2017 to June 31th, 2017 according to medical charts. Results : 1. In distribution according to age and sex, people in their 50s numbered the most. The 137 inpatients comprised of male (46.0%) and female (54.0%). 2. In distribution according to types of accident, Rear-end collision accident numbered the most (34.3%), followed by Frontal collision (21.2%) and Lateral collision (14.6%). 3. In distribution according to duration of treatment, most (54.7%) patients discharged within 1 week, followed by 1 week to 2 weeks(37.2%) 4. In distribution according to mean elevation of symptoms, Neck pain was the most (75.9%) symptom, followed by Low back pain (67.2%), Shoulder pain (46.0%) and Headache (37.2%). 5. In distribution according to treatment results, symptom improvement was the most (62.8%), followed by excellent (19.7%), mild improvement (14.6%). 6. In distribution according to duration of treatment, Most frequently prescribed herbal decoction was Tongdosan (45.7%), followed by Dangguijakyaksangagam (29.6%), and most frequently prescribed extract powder was Yunkyopaedocksan and Ojeoksan (12.7%). Conclusions : This study shows that aftereffects from the traffic accident tend to occur with various symptoms in various age groups. Korean medicine treatments are effective in patient who were admitted to Korean medicine hospital due to traffic accident.

첨단안전장치 장착 버스의 사고사례 분석 (Analysis for Traffic Accident of the Bus with Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS))

  • Recently a traffic accident of heavy duty vehicles under the mandatory installation of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) is often reported in the media. Heavy duty vehicle accidents are normally occurring a high number of passenger's injury. According to report of Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, FCW (Forward Collision Warning) and AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) were associated with a statistically significant 12% reduction in the rate of police-reportable crashes per vehicle miles traveled, and a significant 41% reduction in the rear-end crash rate of large trucks. Also many countries around the world, including Korea, are studying the effects of ADAS installation on accident reduction. Traffic accident statistics of passenger vehicle for business purpose in TMACS (Traffic safety information Management Complex System in Korea) tends to remarkably reduce the number of deaths due to the accident (2017(211), 2018(170), 2019(139)), but the number of traffic accidents (2017(8,939), 2018(9,181), 2019(10,095)) increases. In this paper, it is introduced a traffic accident case that could lead to high injury traffic accidents by being equipped with AEB in a bus. AEB reduces accidents and damage in general but malfunction of AEB could occur severe accident. Therefore, proper education is required to use AEB system, simply instead of focusing on developing and installing AEB to prevent traffic accidents. Traffic accident of AEB equipped vehicle may arise a new dispute between a driver's fault and vehicle defect. It is highly recommended to regulate an advanced event data recorder system.

인공신경망을 활용한 V2I2V 통신 기반 차량 추돌방지 지원 서비스 개발 (Development of V2I2V Communication-based Collision Prevention Support Service Using Artificial Neural Network)

  • 차세대첨단교통시스템(C-ITS)의 우선 도입 서비스 항목 중 하나로 차량 추돌방지 지원 서비스가 고려되고 있다. 이에 인공신경망을 적용한 V2I2V 통신 기반의 후미추돌사고 예방 방법들이 몇몇 제시되었지만, 낮은 C-ITS 단말기 보급률 및 대용량 교통정보로 인한 지연 현상 등 한계로 인해 그 효과가 미미하다. 따라서 본 연구는 실시간 구간교통 정보를 활용한 인공신경망 기반 추돌 경고 서비스(ACWS, Artificial Neural Network-based Collision Warning Service)를 제안한다. 제안 서비스는 실시간 구간 교통정보를 반영해 인공신경망의 가중치를 갱신하고 구간 진입 차량에게 제공한다. 본 연구는 C-ITS 단말 보급률과 지연시간에 따른 제안 서비스의 성능 평가를 수행한다. 분석결과 C-ITS 단말 보급률이 높고 지연시간이 낮을수록 제안 서비스가 더 나은 성능을 나타내고, 같은 조건일 경우 고도화된 인공신경망을 적용한 서비스 성능이 더 뛰어난 것으로 확인된다.

적외선 카메라를 이용한 안전거리 확보 시스템 설계 (Design of a Safety Distance Securing System using Infrared cameras)

  • 야간에 자동차를 운행할 때 검정색 차량 같은 어두운 색상의 자동차는 운전자가 인지를 못하는 경우가 많고 안개가 짙게 낀 상황도 운전자의 시야가 좁아져 교통사고율이 급격하게 증가한다. 도로교통공단의 자료에 의하면 최근 5년(2009~2013) 동안 가해자의 안전거리 미확보로 인한 교통사고는 매년 감소하는 것으로 나타나지만, 안전운전 의무 불이행 다음으로 두 번째로 높은 사고 건수를 기록하고 있다. 이는 아직도 운전자의 시인성 저하에 대한 방안이 부족하기 때문이다. 시인성 저하를 위한 대책으로 BMW, AUDI, Benz 회사에서 적외선 카메라를 이용한 나이트 비젼이 있으나 거리감지기능이 없어 디스플레이를 계속 주시하면서 운행하여야 하므로 시야가 좁아져 다른 위험이 발생할 수 있다. 현재 시중에 제공되고 있는 적외선 나이트 비젼 카메라를 이용하였을 때 일반 시야보다 약 4배 정도의 거리를 인식할 수 있었고, 이러한 나이트 비젼의 장점을 활용하여 전면 차량과의 안전거리를 확보하는 시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문에서는 제시하는 시스템은 시인성이 떨어지는 환경을 가정하여 설계하였고 나이트 비젼 카메라를 이용해 디스플레이로 출력하여 육안으로 구분할 수 없는 물체도 인지할 수 있어 헤드라이트를 켜고 운행할 때보다 안전한 운행을 할 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 하지만 디스플레이를 지속적으로 주시하며 운행할 경우 거리 감각이 떨어져 근접해 오는 물체와의 충돌 사고를 막기 힘들 것으로 보인다. 따라서 이러한 단점을 보안하기 위해 영상 데이터를 활용하여 앞 차량의 유무를 파악하고 차량이 있을 때 안전거리를 디스플레이에 표시함으로 앞 차량과의 거리를 유지하여 사고를 예방하여 안전 운행이 가능하도록 설계하였다.

교통사고로 한방병원에 입원한 환자 1,162명에 대한 후향적 분석 (The Retrospective Analysis of 1,162 Traffic Accident Inpatients in Korean Medicine Hospital)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of inpatients who were admitted to Korean medicine hospital due to traffic accident. Methods 1,162 traffic accident patients who were admitted to department of Korean Rehabilitation Medicine of Cheonan Korean Medicine Hospital, Dae-Jeon University from 1st, January, 2011 to 31th, December, 2012 were analyzed according to the medical charts. Results 1. The average treatment result was 3.22 and in most (71.52%) of the patients, symptoms were more than improved. 2. In distribution according to age and sex, people in their 30s numbered the most both in male (12.65%) and female (14.72%). The 1,162 inpatients comprised of 457 (39.33%) male and 705 (60.67%) female. 3. 541 (46.56%) patients admitted in 2011 and 621 (53.44%) patients admitted in 2012. 4. 695 (59.81%) patients visited Cheonan Korean Medicine Hospital within 0~2 days after their traffic accident, followed by 242 (20.83%) patients who visited within 3~5 days after their traffic accident. Patients who admitted earlier showed more improvement in symptoms. 5. The average admission days were 9.32 days. Most (57.66%) patients discharged within 1 week. 6. 825 (71.00%) patients were driving sedan at the time of accident, followed by 105 (9.04%) SUV owners and 71 (6.11%) pedestrians. 7. Rear-end collision accident numbered the most (45.61%), followed by lateral collision (24.35%) and frontal collision (14.72%). 8. Most frequently prescribed examination was X-ray (95.52%), followed by CT (8.69%) and MRI (3.01%). 9. Most frequently given diagnosis was sprain (1,126 (96.90%) patients), followed by concussion & abrasion (178 (15.32%) patients) and fracture (109 (9.38%) patients). 10. Most frequently given Korean medicine treatment was acupuncture (1,162 (100%) patients), followed by anti-inflammatory pharmacopuncture (652 (56.11%) patients) and moxibustion (462 (39.76%) patients). 11. Most frequently given Korean medicine physiotherapy was infra-red (1,161 (99.91%) patients), followed by cupping therapy (1,152 (99.14%) patients) and hotpack (1,137 (97.85%) patients). 12. Most frequently prescribed herb medicine was huishou-san (13.51%), followed by dangguixu-san (12.65%) and yaojiao-tang G (7.06%) Conclusions In this study, people in their 30s, females, within 0~2 days since the accident took the highest percentage from each category of patients who admitted to Korean Medicine Hospital due to traffic accident. Patients who admitted earlier showed more improvement in symptoms and also discharged earlier.

대용폐색방식 시행방법 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement for the Implement Way of a Substitute Block System)

  • Presently, The Regular Block System(Automatic, Interlocking block system) is usually used during the operation of block section. However, In case that the regular block system fails because of the failure of the fixed signals and block equipment or in case of the unexpected emergent situation which should drive on the single-track due to the accidents in the double-track section or the repair work of the one-track, the Substitute Block System to make use of the driving permission license(mapping ticket, mapping paper) is used. In case of the operation of the opposite line and the temporary one-track, the safety gets worse and the SBS may cause the fatal accidents such as a head-on & a rear-end collision. Also, the unmanned railroad stations has recently increased owing to the effective operation of the stations, for it is difficult to execute the SBS in their absence. As a result, the increase of the operation time made the train delayed. Being on the rise of these problems, in this study, we analyzed the problems and difficulties of the SBS on the single line which is lacking stability and safety and on the sections combined between maned and unmaned railroad stations. And we proposed the method to improve the existing drive permission license used for 50 years into the brand-new one with state-of-the art technology and scientific way. In the era of the 21th century, Carrying out the new SBS equipped with stability and safety, we will contribute to the effective operation of trains and the satisfaction of our customers in the future.
