  • Classic cultivation theory and research has been noted for its failure to capture subtle variation in effects by genre and to consider tangible and practical dependent variables. Redressing these limitations, this study aimed at extending cultivation theory frame to incorporating fatalistic attitudes and reality television viewing, especially with the mediator of perceived realism. We first replicated the original cultivation effect by showing the significant effect of overall TV viewing. Even controlling for overall TV viewing, reality-based program use showed positive association with fatalistic beliefs; furthermore, the effect remained significant, additionally controlling for news(fact) use and drama(fiction) use. In a nutshell, the cultivation effect of reality-based TV program on fatalistic beliefs turns out quite stable even after controlling other competing genres.

  • Images of TV that crossed the reality & the virtual reality have been discussed for a long time, Then, With what feature can TV make messages of the reality & the virtual reality maintain to achieve such a target, and in which situation will the feature be exposed? One who answered first about these questions is a German critic, G$\ddot{u}$nter Anders. Anders called the reality confused with the reality and the confused world of the virtual reality Phantom, and thought human beings would live in the reproduced world created by media machine in the long run as a world that the Phantom created would be gloomy and confusing. The media, themselves, become images, and an image creates another image. Through this process, human beings became unaware of which image the reality was indeed. As TV often created these situations, we have been already seduced into the deep Phantom world before discussing right or wrong of the situation. Of course, the media reality & the reality can't be strictly distinguished. Because the means that help to form judgement of viewers is the media. The subject of practical judgement is the media reality not human beings.

  • Can law be combined with television entertainment programs? This paper explores the ways in which law systems and law culture are reflected in and reflect the television legal series. TV legal series, such as legal dramas and infotainment shows, provide platforms for the audiences, who otherwise have few opportunity in real life, to engage with legal systems in societies. Adopting loosely dramatized reality programs, these legal series not only entertain and inform audiences but also educate citizens. This paper combines analyses of theoretical debates on law and television with analysis of TV text. The result shows that , dramatized enactment based on true stories and criminal cases, may have an important ideological role in which fictionalized dramas mask the hard realities and authoritative legal systems. By doing so, TV legal shows play their roles not as mere symbolic representation but as powerful institutions that construct the image of law and reality.

We analyzed the second research result about measurement category of presence selected by first research and then we did Exploratory factor analysis and Confirmatory factor analysis. As a result, the first characteristic that make people experience presence is sensible reality, that is, it is the factor of sensible faithfullness, image faithfullness, and image reality as the form factor of the media. The second characteristic is cognitive reality. That is the factor of social reality, relational reality, and practical reality as the factor of media content.
