  • 장면 전환 검출을 위해 히스토그램 등 단일 특성만 고려할 경우 움직임이 많은 영상과 조명의 변화가 다양하거나 단조로운 색상으로의 장면 전환이 일어나는 영상에 검출이 어렵다는 단점이 있다. 이를 개선하기 위해 프레임 간 색상 히스토그램을 비교 후, SURF를 적용하는 방법을 제안한다.

A Study on the Realistic Media Creator Curriculum Based on Drone Video

  • In this paper, presents an efficient education method for training specialized edutainment SW education instructors and drone realistic media creators, not just training to acquire certificates through drone manipulation training. To this end, the NCS-based curriculum was derived. The developed curriculum includes the edutainment drone curriculum and the realistic media creator curriculum. Among them, core responsibilities were defined for the drone control curriculum and core tasks, knowledge, and attitudes were described for each. After that, a detailed curriculum for drone control was derived. In the realistic media creator curriculum, pilot education was conducted to actually produce advertisement videos to foster experts who can work directly in the industrial field. Finally, through holding an online conference in a metaverse environment, a virtual conference was operated to share and discuss media videos produced by trainees. After the end of education, the efficiency of this curriculum was proved through education satisfaction analysis for 46 education graduates. This paper presented a method to achieve internalization of SW education in non-face-to-face online education that our society must solve after post-COVID-19. In addition, an efficient educational method in a realistic media environment was suggested by showing a realistic media creator training curriculum, pilot programs, and metaverse conference management cases.

Intra Prediction Offset Compensation for Improving Video Coding Efficiency (영상 부호화 효율 향상을 위한 화면내 예측 오프셋 보상)

  • In this paper, an intra prediction offset compensation method is proposed to improve intra prediction in H.264/AVC. In H.264/AVC, intra prediction based on various directions improves the coding efficiency by removing spatial correlation between neighboring blocks. In details, neighboring pixels in reconstructed block can be used as intra reference block for the current block to be coded when intra prediction method is used. In order to reduce further the prediction error of the intra reference block, the proposed method introduces an intra prediction offset which is determined in the sense of the rate-distortion optimization and is added to the conventional intra prediction block. Besides the intra prediction offset compensation, the coefficient thresholding method which is used for inter coding in JM 11.0, is used for chroma component in intra block, which leads the improvement of the luma coding efficiency of the proposed method. In experiments, we show that the proposed method achieves average 2.45% in High Profile condition and maximum 4.41% of bitrate reduction relative to JM 11.0.

Analysis of New Media Fashion Image Types in Fashion Films (패션필름에 나타난 뉴미디어 패션 이미지 유형분석)

  • In the era of new media, images hold an important position as episteme to express and convey ideas. Fashion films provide dynamic and unique fashion images, differentiated from prior fashion media as a representational tool for showing a realistic fashion image only; consequently, their production and spread are increasing rapidly as a new fashion media. This study identifies the meaning and type of fashion images in fashion films based on the concept of Deleuze's image that help discover distinctive characteristics of fashion films as a new fashion media of an expressive tool. Literature research was conducted on new media, concepts and types of images by Deleuze to analyze types of new media images. According to research, fashion image in fashion film is defined as a fashion event; consequently, three types of new media images are derived. As the result of the empirical study, fashion images in fashion films are classified by images of realistic movement, variable time, and virtual experience. The results of the consideration show that fashion films expressed fashion through temporality and narrative, senses, and diegesis. Fashion images of new media in fashion films portray fashion as a process that transcends reality and imagination.

  • 워터마킹 알고리즘은 강인성과 비가시성을 동시에 만족해야 하고, 이를 위해서는 가장 적합한 데이터에 워터마크를 삽입해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 디지털 홀로그램을 위한 워터마킹 알고리즘의 개발을 위해 복원영역(프레넬 변환)에 대한 특성을 분석하였다. 이를 기반으로 복원영역에서는 프레넬 변환을 수행한 후 얻어지는 실수부와 허수부 데이터를 이용해 절대값 영상을 생성하고, 여기서 워터마크 삽입을 위한 좌표를 선정한 후 실수부와 허수부에 워터마크를 삽입하였다. 실험결과 제안한 워터마킹 알고리즘은 강인성과 비가시성을 충분히 만족하여 디지털 홀로그램을 위한 적절한 워터마킹 기술임을 확인할 수 있었다.

Fabrication of an Inkjet-printed Plastic Force Sensor Using PEDOT:PSS (PEDOT:PSS를 이용한 잉크젯 프린팅 방식 플라스틱 힘 센서 개발)

  • This paper presents an inkjet-printed plastic force sensor using PEDOT:PSS. Using a piezoelectric-type inkjet printer, the force sensor was manufactured by printing PEDOT:PSS ink onto a polyimide (PI) substrate film. Applying a vertical force of 0 to 100 N to the force sensor on the PI substrate with a thickness of 64 mm, the resistance of the force sensor increased in proportion to the input force by the length deformation of the PI substrates and the sensor pattern. As a result, the fabricated sensor has a characteristic of 0.001% /N with a linearity of 99.38%. In addition, as the thickness of the PI substrate film increased, the sensitivity of the sensor increased linearly. The fabricated force sensor is expected to be applied to industrial sites and healthcare fields.

3D Image Capturing and 3D Content Generation for Realistic Broadcasting (실감방송을 위한 3차원 영상 촬영 및 3차원 콘텐츠 제작 기술)

  • Stereo and multi-view cameras have been used to capture the three-dimensional (3D) scene for 3D contents generation. Besides, depth sensors are frequently used to obtain 3D information of the captured scene in real time. In order to generate 3D contents from captured images, we need several preprocessing operations to reduce noises and distortions in the images. 3D contents are considered as the basic media for realistic broadcasting that provides photo-realistic and immersive feeling to users. In this paper, we show technical trends of 3D image capturing and contents generation, and explain some core techniques for 3D image processing for realistic 3DTV broadcasting.

  • This paper presents an interactive locomotion controller using motion capture data and inverted pendulum model. Most of the data-driven character controller using motion capture data have two kinds of limitation. First, it needs many example motion capture data to generate realistic motion. Second, it is difficult to make natural-looking motion when characters navigate dynamic terrain. In this paper, we present a technique that uses dimension reduction technique to motion capture data together with the Gaussian process dynamical model (GPDM), and interpolates the low-dimensional data to make final motion. With the low-dimensional data, we can make realistic walking motion with few example motion capture data. In addition, we apply the inverted pendulum model (IPM) to calculate the root trajectory considering the real-time user input upon the dynamic terrain. Our method can be used in game, virtual training, and many real-time applications.

Low-Temperature Processed Thin Film Barrier Films for Applications in Organic Electronics (유기전자소자 적용을 위한 저온 공정용 배리어 박막 연구)

  • Recently, semiconducting organic materials have been spotlighted as next-generation electronic materials based on their tunable electrical and optical properties, low-cost process, and flexibility. However, typical organic semiconductor materials are vulnerable to moisture and oxygen. Therefore, an encapsulation layer is essential for application of electronic devices. In this study, SiNx thin films deposited at process temperatures below 150 ℃ by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) were characterized for application as an encapsulation layer on organic devices. A single structured SiNx thin film was optimized as an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) encapsulation layer at process temperature of 80 ℃. The optimized SiNx film exhibited excellent water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) of less than 5 × 10-5 g/㎡·day and transmittance of over 87.3% on the visible region with thickness of 1 ㎛. Application of the SiNx thin film on the top-emitting OLED showed that the PECVD process did not degrade the electrical properties of the device, and the OLED with SiNx exhibited improved operating lifetime
