Real Time Linux System Design (리얼 타임 리눅스 시스템 설계)

  • In this paper, we implemented the object scanning with nxtOSEK which is an open source platform. nxtOSEK consists of device driver of leJOS NXJ C/Assembly source code, TOPPERS/ATK(Automotive real time Kernel) and TOPPERS/JSP Real-Time Operating System source code that includes ARM7 specific porting part, and glue code make them work together. nxtOSEK can provide ANSI C by using GCC tool chain and C API and apply for real-time multi tasking features. We experimented the 3D scanning with ultra sonic and laser sensor which are made directly by laser module diode and experimented the measurement of scanning the object by knowing x, y, and z coordinates for every points that it scans. In this paper, the laser module is the dimension of $6{\times}10[mm]$ requiring 5volts/5[mW], and used the laser light of wavelength in the 650[nm] range. For detecting the object, we used the beacon detection algorithm and as the laser light swept the objects, the photodiode monitored the ambient light at interval of 10[ms] which is called a real time. We communicated the 3D scanning platform via bluetooth protocol with host platform and the results are displayed via DPlot graphic tool. And therefore we enhanced the functionality of the 3D scanner for identifying the image scanning with laser sensor modules compared to ultra sonic sensor.

  • 레이다 빔 스케쥴러는 레이타의 전체적인 운용과 제어를 담당하는 레이다 통제기의 핵심기능으로서 레이다의 운용시간 및 송신 전력 등 한정된 가용 자원을 효율적으로 관리하기 위한 최적화 기법이 매우 중요하다. 본 논문은 충남대에서 개발한 실시간 운용체제인 iRTOS를 기반으로 하여 방위각 방향은 기계적 회전을 하고 고각 방향은 위상을 가변하여 다수의 위협 표적을 실시간으로 탐지하고 추적하는 회전형 3차원 위상배열 레이다에 적용 가능한 레이다 빔 스케쥴러의 구현 알고리즘에 관한 내용이다. 제안된 레이다 빔 스케쥴러는 우선 순위를 갖는 핵심적인 스케쥴링 태스크와 이를 보조하기 위한 다수의 기능 태스크를 정의하고 생성하였으며 태스크간 데이터 교환을 위하여 인터럽트 처리, 시간 관리, 세마포어 및 메시지 큐 등을 적용하였다. 레이다 빔 스케쥴러의 성능을 검증하기 위하여 다수의 모의 표적을 발생시켜 빔 스케쥴러의 상태와 성능을 확인하였으며, 자체 개발한 실시간 운용체제인 iRTOS를 이용하여 3차원 레이다 빔 스케쥴러를 구현할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • Recently, the demand for real-time performance in mobile environment is increasing due to the improvement of hardware performance, however a GPOS(General-Purpose Operating System) such as Android and Linux do not provide real-time performance. We developed RTiK(Real-Time implant Kernel) for this problem, but it has the disadvantage of supporting only x86 Architecture. In this paper, we designed and implemented a RTiKA(Real-Time implanted Kernel for ARM) to support real-time in ARM Linux. We used MCT(Multi-Core Timer) timer which replaces Local APIC Timer for real-time support, and we measured the period of generated real-time task for performance verification and evaluation. As the recent the RTiKA can guarantee the operating of several real-time tasks based on the cycle of 1ms.

  • 최근 천재지변 및 여름철 전력난과 같은 예상치 못한 정전이 증가함에 따라 소규모 사업장 및 가정에서 무정전 전원공급장치에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있다. 기존의 무정전 전원공급장치는 정전 보상시간에 비례하여 높은 가격과 유지비용이 요구되며 사용자 편의성이 부족한 단점이 있었다. 본 논문에서는 무정전 전원공급장치 용량을 1/10 로 줄이고 부족한 정전보상시간을 늘리기 위하여 소형동기 발전기를 결합한 무정전 발전공급장치에 관한 설계 안을 제시한다. 제시한 발전공급장치는 Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) 기반의 제어기를 사용하여, 정전 발생시 순차적으로 무정전 전원공급장치와 소형 동기발전기를 동작시켜 전원을 공급한다. 또한 센서 네트워킹, 실시간 모니터링, 원격제어 등 다양한 실시간 서비스를 사용자에게 제공한다.

  • With current battlefield environment relying heavily on Network Centric Warfare(NCW), existing weaponary systems are evolving into a new concept that converges IT technology. Majority of the weaponary systems are implemented with numerous embedded softwares which makes such softwares a key factor influencing the performance of such systems. Furthermore, due to the advancements in both IoT technoogies and embedded softwares cyber threats are targeting various embedded systems as their scope of application expands in the real world. Weaponary systems have been developed in various forms from single systems to interlocking networks. hence, system level cyber security is more favorable compared to application level cyber security. In this paper, a secure real-time operating system has been designed, implemented and measured to protect embedded softwares used in weaponary systems from unknown cyber threats at the operating system level.

  • This Paper deals with a design, making a prtotype and test methods of Real-time towed Line Array Sensor Data processing board for fast data communication and long range data transmission with SFM(Serial FPDP Module) through Optic-fiber channel. Towed line array sensors are installed in Frigate and the each LAS A, B, C group data from LAS is packed a previously agreed protocol and transmitted to the signal processing unit. Considering the limited space of VME 6U size, LAS Data processing board is designed with MPC8265 PowerPC Controller of Freescale for main system control and Altera's CycloneIII FPGA for sensor data packing, self-test simulation data generation, S/W FIFO et cetera. LAS Data processing board have VxWorks, the RTOS(Real Time Operating System) that present many device drivers, peripheral control libraries on board for real-time data processing.

Automatic Virtual Platform Generation for Fast SoC Verification (고속 SoC 검증을 위한 자동 가상 플랫폼 생성)

  • In this paper, we propose an automatic generation method of transaction level(TL) model from algorithmic model to verify system specification fast and effectively using virtual platform. The TL virtual platform including structural properties such as timing, synchronization and real-time is one of the effective verification frameworks. However, whenever change system specification or HW/SW mapping, we must rebuild virtual platform and additional design/verification time is required. And the manual description is very time-consuming and error-prone process. To solve these problems, we build TL library which consists of basic components of virtual platform such as CPU, memory, timer. We developed a set of design/verification tools in order to generate a virtual platform automatically. Our tools generate a virtual platform which consists of embedded real-time operating system (RTOS) and hardware components from an algorithmic modeling. And for communication between HW and SW, memory map and device drivers are generated. The effectiveness of our proposed framework has been successfully verified with a Joint Photographic Expert Group (JPEG) and H.264 algorithm. We claim that our approach enables us to generate an application specific virtual platform $100x{\tims}1000x$ faster than manual designs. Also, we can refine an initial platform incrementally to find a better HW/SW mapping. Furthermore, application software can be concurrently designed and optimized as well as RTOS by the generated virtual platform

  • RTiK-Linux is a method to provide real-time performance to Linux, it is controlled by directly accessing hardware registers to implement time tick interrupts. It implemented on x86 Intel and ARM based Exynoss 5422, but it had a disadvantage that it could not be ported to both fragmented other platform environments. In this paper, We change structure of time tick interrupt for improve po rtability so that it can operate on other platforms. We apply high-resolution timers that are independent of hardware, and modify operating structure to task and event to satisfy time determinism. It was confirmed that the improved RTiK-Linux works well in x86 and various ARM AP environments.

  • Synthetic Aperture Radar is an active sensor utilizing the microwaves in order to get the requested high resolution imageries day or night regardless of the weather conditions. In this paper, the architecture of a real-time system controller for the airborne small SAR system, KOrea Miniature SAR which was developed by Agency for Defense Development is proposed considering the embedded real-time environment. The main purpose of the system controller is to control the internal and the rest of subsystem within SAR system in real-time. The main characteristics of the proposed system controller were implemented using the real-time operating system and the distributed hardware architecture for the small, low weight and real-time operation. The system controller performance and real-time operation were verified and confirmed by the demo flight with the KT-1 airplane.
