  • Recently, the HFPD measurement testing is widely used in partial discharge measurement of HV machines because HFPD measurement testing receives less influence of external noise and has a merit of good sensitivity. Also HFPD testing is able to offer the judgement standard of degradation level of HV machine and can detect discharge signals in live-line. Therefore it is very useful method compare to previous conventional PD testing method and effective diagnosis method in power transformer that requires live-line diagnosis. But partial discharges have very complex characteristics of discharge pattern so it is required continuous research to development of precise analysis method. In recent, the study of partial discharge is carrying out discover of initial defect of power equipment through condition diagnosis and system development of degradation diagnosis using HFPD(High Frequency Partial Discharge) detection. In this study, simulated transformer is manufactured and HFPD occurred from transformer is measured with broad band antenna in real time, the degradation grade of transformer is analyzed through produced patterns in simulated transformer according to applied voltages.

  • Corona discharge is always a sign of failure processes of high-voltage electrical apparatus, including those utilized in electric railway systems. Solar-blind ultraviolet (UV) cameras are effective tools for corona inspection. In this work, we present an automatic railway corona-discharge detection system based on solar-blind ultraviolet detection. The UV camera, mounted on top of a train, inspects the electrical apparatus, including transmission lines and insulators, along the railway during fast cruising of the train. An algorithm based on the Hough transform is proposed for distinguishing the emitting objects (corona discharge) from the noise. The detection system can report the suspected corona discharge in real time during fast cruises. An experiment was carried out during a routine inspection of railway apparatus in Xinjiang Province, China. Several corona-discharge points were found along the railway. The false-alarm rate was controlled to less than one time per hour during this inspection.

  • The conventional thermal insulator and power transformer testing is widely used in surface aging measurement of outside insulator because those testing can carry out very short time in Lab testing. Also thermal testing is able to offer the standard judgement of relative degradation level of outside HV machine. There it is very useful method compare to previous conventional thermal testing method and effective Lab testing method. But surface discharges(SD) have very complex characteristics of discharge pattern so it is required estimation research to development of precise analysis method. In recent, the study of IRR-camera is carrying out discover of temperature of power equipment through condition diagnosis and system development of degradation diagnosis. In this study, thermal testing of Power transformer is measured with partial temperature distribution in real time.

  • The machining parameters for the wire electrical discharge machining(WEDM), including no load voltage, pulse-on time, pulse-off time, wire tension, water flow rata offset etc. should be chosen properly so that a better performance can be obtained An optimum selection of machining parameters relies heavily on the operators technologies and experience. This study presents a method by means of Taguchi method to select optimal machining parameter combination for an cutting speed or surface roughness. Experimental results demonstrate that the machining models are appropriate and the derived machining parameters satisfy the real requirements in notice.

  • This paper presents vibration characteristics of a wire cut discharge machine in which an electro-rheological brake actuator is used to control the wire tension. The ER brake actuator has several advantages including design simplicity, fast response time and real-time controllability. On the basis of the tension level required in the machine an appropriate size of the ER brake actuator is devised. The ER brake actuator is then incorporated with the machine and the field-dependent wire tension is experimentally evaluated. The straightness of the workpiece is also empirically investigated by changing the intensity of the electric field.

  • Recently irrigation reservoir has been developed to perform multipurpose function. To get a maximum effect it requires to establish optimal management system for irrigation reservoir in drought and flood season. Especially we dealt with optimal flood control system for irrigation reservoir in this study. This system consists of real-time rainfall data via online system, real-time flood forecasted by SCS method in hourly basis, storage volume by water balance equation, optimal releasing discharge from the gate, the water level in right downstream, and calculation of innundated area, depth, and time using GIS, and amount of flood damages. If we consider the relation of these sub module reasonably, we can reach the optimal flood control to minimize flood damage

  • To protect the flooding damages in Medium and Small watershed, it needs to set up flood warning system and develope Flood forecasting Model in real-time basis for medium and small watershed. In this study, it was able to minimize the error range between forecasted flood inflow and actual flood inflow, and forecast accurately the flood discharge some hours in advance by using simplex method recursively for the determination of the best parameters of RETFLO model. The result of RETFLO performance applied to several storm of Yugu river during 3 past years was very good with relative errors of 10% for comparison of total runoff volume and with one hour delayed peak time.

청계천 실시간 홍수예보를 위한 Flow Nomograph 개발 및 평가 (Development and Assessment of Flow Nomograph for the Real-time Flood Forecasting in Cheonggye Stream)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 도시하천으로 복원된 청계천유역의 실시간 홍수예보를 위한 flow nomograph를 개발하고, 실측자료를 통해 flow nomograph의 적용성을 검토하는데 있다. 본 연구의 적용대상 지역인 청계천 유역은 높은 불투수율, 짧은 도달시간 및 복잡한 수문학적 특성을 갖고 있어 기존 강우-유출 모형에 의한 홍수예측 방법의 선행시간 확보 측면에서 실효성을 거두지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 홍수예보 선행시간을 확보하기 위해 강우정보만으로도 홍수예보가 가능한 flow nomograph를 개발하였다. Flow nomograph는 강우강도, 강우지속시간 등의 강우변수와 유량, 수위간의 상관관계를 구한 것이다. 본 연구에서는 Flow nomograph 개발과정에서 예보 기준 설정을 위해 홍수예보 지점을 선정하여 지점별 기준 홍수위를 산정하였으며, 다양한 홍수사상을 반영하기 위해 가상 강우시나리오를 설정하여 강우조건별 강우강도와 강우지속시간을 산정하였다. 또한 수위-유량관계 곡선식을 이용하여 기준 홍수위에 따라 홍수량 범위를 결정하고, SWMM모형을 이용하여 강우조건에 따른 지점별 홍수량을 산정하여 예보지점별로 기준홍수 위에 따른 홍수량을 산정하였다. 산정된 강우 시나리오에 따른 강우정보와 기준 홍수위에 따른 홍수량을 이용하여 flow nomograph를 개발하였으며, 이를 실제 홍수사상에 적용하여 평가하였다. 평가 결과 청계천 유역에 대해 flow nomograph의 적용성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 향후 청계천과 같은 도시하천유역의 홍수예측 방법으로 활용도가 높을 것으로 판단된다.
