  • Recently, the volume of data is increasing rapidly in server for multimedia service, according to development of multimedia application environment. In recent research for storage technology the technology like of the SAN(Storage Area Network) advantages in scalibility of storage devices, and can read data from multiple disk arrays through RAID 0, 5. The RAID 0 and 5 translate to logical address to physical address using equation, but in case of adding disks at the system with equation -based mapping, the problem that we must rearrange the whole data in the previous disks happens. We use the mapping table to solve this problem in recent, but we can not load the whole mapping table in main memory because it occupies too large space. Therefore the extra I/Os are demanded to evaluate real physical address of data, so total performance of the system is degraded. In this paper, we propose the mapping method that supports the scalibility in RAID 0 or 5 system. The proposing method applies small metadata, so- called SZIT and simple equation, so it is possible that we make translate logical address to physical address rapidly and it is scalable in disk extending simultaneously Our suggesting method, if we add disks to the striping system for expanding of storage capacity, has an advantage of never stop service. So, SZlT-based mapping method can do online-disk-expanding in real-time service.

  • As a kind of 2D spatial coordinate transform, image warping is a basic image processing technique utilized in various applications. Though image warping algorithm is composed of relatively simple operations such as memory accesses and computations of weighted average, real-time implementations on embedded vision systems suffer from limited computational power because the simple operations are iterated as many times as the number of pixels. This paper presents a real-time implementation of a look-up table(LUT)-based image warping using an FPGA. In order to ensure sufficient data transfer rate from memories storing mapping LUT and image data, appropriate memory devices are selected by analyzing memory access patterns in an LUT-based image warping using backward mapping. In addition, hardware structure of a parallel and pipelined architecture is proposed for fast computation of bilinear interpolation using fixed-point operations. Accuracy of the implemented hardware is verified using a synthesized test image, and an application to real-time lens distortion correction is exemplified.

  • Generally, when we control the robot, we should calculate exactly Inverse Kinematics. However, Inverse Kinematics calculation is complex and it takes much time for the manipulator to control in real-time. Therefore, the calculation of Inverse Kinematics can result in significant control delay in real time. In this paper, we will present that Inverse Kinematics can be calculated through Fuzzy Logic Mapping, Based on an exact solution through fuzzy reasoning instead of Inverse Kinematics calculation Also, the result provides sufficient precision and transient tracking error can be controlled based on a fuzzy adaptive scheme proposed in this paper. Based on the Denavit-Hartenberg parameters specification, after the Jacobian matrix of arbitrary manipulator is calculated, we will construct Fuzzy Inverse Kinematics Mapping(FIKM) using fuzzy logic and represent a good control efficiency through simulation of 2-DOF manipulator.

  • This paper describes preliminary results we have obtained in developing a computer vision system based on active IR illumination for real time gaze tracking for interactive graphic display. Unlike most of the existing gaze tracking techniques, which often require assuming a static head to work well and require a cumbersome calibration process fur each person, our gaze tracker can perform robust and accurate gaze estimation without calibration and under rather significant head movement. This is made possible by a new gaze calibration procedure that identifies the mapping from pupil parameters to screen coordinates using the Generalized Regression Neural Networks (GRNN). With GRNN, the mapping does not have to be an analytical function and head movement is explicitly accounted for by the gaze mapping function. Furthermore, the mapping function can generalize to other individuals not used in the training. The effectiveness of our gaze tracker is demonstrated by preliminary experiments that involve gaze-contingent interactive graphic display.

  • A color gamut mapping has been known to be one of promising methods to enhance display quality of various types of color display device. However, it is required to handle this mapping in real time for display or digital TV application. If carefully arranged, the tetrahedral interpolation can be computed with simpler operations compared to a cubic interpolation in the conventional reduced resolution look-up table which is devised to process the gamut mapping in real time. Based on the tetrahedral interpolation, a new type hardware architecture for real-time gamut mapping is proposed in this paper. The proposed hardware architecture shows better processing speed and reduces the hardware cost.

  • In this paper, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the strong convergence of a modified Mann iteration process to a fixed point of an asymptotically demicontractive mapping in real Banach spaces are considered. Presented results improve and extend the results of Igbokwe [3], Liu [4], Moore and Nnoli [6] and Osilike [7].

  • In this paper, we introduced a new extended extragradient iteration algorithm for finding a common element of the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping and the set of solutions of equilibrium problems for a monotone and Lipschitz-type continuous mapping. And we show that the iterative sequences generated by this algorithm converge strongly to the common element in a real Hilbert space.

  • Tunnel face mapping plays an important role in risk analysis and infrastructure support decisions during tunnel construction. In this study, a digital mapping system using a mobile device is employed instead of existing face-mapping methods that rely upon face mapping sheets. The mobile device is then connected to the main server in the field, where a tunnel-specific database is compiled automatically. This information provides real-time feedback on the tunnel face to construction personnel and engineers, thus allowing for rapid assessment of tunnel face stability and infrastructure needs. The Douglas-Peucker algorithm, among others, is employed to resolve problems arising from the detailed mapping and speed problem by data accumulation. This system is expected to raise program optimization through field verification and additional functional improvements.

  • Let X be a real reflexive Banach space with a uniformly $G\hat{a}teaux$ differentiable norm, C a nonempty closed convex subset of X, T : C $\rightarrow$ X a continuous pseudocontractive mapping, and A : C $\rightarrow$ C a continuous strongly pseudocontractive mapping. We show the existence of a path ${x_t}$ satisfying $x_t=tAx_t+(1- t)Tx_t$, t $\in$ (0,1) and prove that ${x_t}$ converges strongly to a fixed point of T, which solves the variational inequality involving the mapping A. As an application, we give strong convergence of the path ${x_t}$ defined by $x_t=tAx_t+(1-t)(2I-T)x_t$ to a fixed point of firmly pseudocontractive mapping T.

  • In this paper, we propose a modified smart pixel mapping (SPM) to visualize occluded three-dimensional (3D) objects in real image fields. In integral imaging, orthoscopic real 3D images cannot be displayed because of lenslets and the converging light field from elemental images. Thus, pseudoscopic-to-orthoscopic conversion which rotates each elemental image by 180 degree, has been proposed so that the orthoscopic virtual 3D image can be displayed. However, the orthoscopic real 3D image cannot be displayed. Hence, a conventional SPM that recaptures elemental images for the orthoscopic real 3D image using virtual pinhole array has been reported. However, it has a critical limitation in that the number of pixels for each elemental image is equal to the number of elemental images. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a modified SPM that can solve this critical limitation in a conventional SPM and can also visualize the occluded objects efficiently.
