While the bispectrum has desirable properties in itself and therefore has a lot of potential to be applied to signal and Image restoration. few real-world application results have appeared in literature The major problem with this IS the difficulty In realizing the expectation operator of the true bispectrum, due to the lack of realizations. In this paper, the true bispectrum is defined as the expectation of the sample bispectrum, which IS the Fourier representation of the triple correlation given one realization The characteristics of the sample bispectrum are analyzed and a way to obtain an estimate of the true bispectrum without stochastic expectation, using the generalized theory of weighted regularization is shown. The bispectrum estimated by the proposed algorithm is experimentally demonstrated to be useful for signal recovery under blurred noisy condition.

In this paper, the effects of nonlinear soft clay on dynamic embedment of offshore pipeline were investigated. Seabed embedment by pipe-soil interactions has impacts on the structural boundary conditions for various subsea structures such as pipeline, riser, pile, and many other systems. A number of studies have been performed to estimate real soil behavior, but their estimation of seabed embedment has not been fully identified and there are still many uncertainties. In this regards, comparison of embedment between field survey and existing empirical models has been performed to identify uncertainties and investigate the effect of nonlinear soil parameter on dynamic embedment. From the comparison, it is found that the dynamic embedment with installation effects based on nonlinear soil model have an influence on seabed embedment. Therefore, the pipe embedment under dynamic condition by nonlinear parameters of soil models was investigated by Dynamic Embedment Factor (DEF) concept, which is defined as the ratio of the dynamic and static embedment of pipeline, in order to overcome the gap between field embedment and currently used empirical and numerical formula. Although DEF through various researches is suggested, its range is too wide and it does not consider dynamic laying effect. It is difficult to find critical parameters that are affecting to the embedment result. Therefore, the study on dynamic embedment factor by soft clay parameters of nonlinear soil model was conducted and the sensitivity analyses about parameters of nonlinear soil model were performed as well. The tendency on dynamic embedment factor was found by conducting numerical analyses using OrcaFlex software. It is found that DEF was influenced by shear strength gradient than other factors. The obtained results will be useful to understand the pipe embedment on soft clay seabed for applying offshore pipeline designs such as on-bottom stability and free span analyses.

There are growing concerns that the recently implemented Earthquake Early Warning service is overestimating the rapidly provided earthquake magnitudes (M). As a result, the predicted damages unnecessarily activate earthquake protection systems for critical facilities and lifeline infrastructures that are far away. This study is conducted to improve the estimation accuracy of M by incorporating the observed S-wave seismograms in the near source region after removing the site effects of the seismograms in real time by filtering in the time domain. The ensemble of horizontal S-wave spectra from at least five seismograms without site effects is calculated and normalized to a hypocentric target distance (21.54 km) by using the distance attenuation model of Q(f)=348f0.52 and a cross-over distance of 50 km. The natural logarithmic mean of the S-wave ensemble spectra is then fitted to Brune's source spectrum to obtain the best estimates for M and stress drop (SD) with the fitting weight of 1/standard deviation. The proposed methodology was tested on the 18 recent inland earthquakes in South Korea, and the condition of at least five records for the near-source region is sufficiently fulfilled at an epicentral distance of 30 km. The natural logarithmic standard deviation of the observed S-wave spectra of the ensemble was calculated to be 0.53 using records near the source for 1~10 Hz, compared to 0.42 using whole records. The result shows that the root-mean-square error of M and ln(SD) is approximately 0.17 and 0.6, respectively. This accuracy can provide a confidence interval of 0.4~2.3 of Peak Ground Acceleration values in the distant range.

The objective of this paper is to suggest the improvement of estimating system for construction management (CM) service fee through the analysis of the previous literatures and criteria and case study. In order to do this, this paper considered the relevance of existing criteria to estimate the CM service fee, the condition of input ratio of engineering resources in the real cases, and current utilization strategy of nonresident technical engineers. Based on the analysis, the following problems were identified; a) the different estimating system for CM fee and construction supervision fee, b) impractical estimating system for the CM fee, and c) inappropriate allocation of human resources for CM. Consequently, this paper suggested the following 4 items for the improvement of the existing system; (1) modification of the current structure of CM fee calculation, (2) rationalization of current level of the CM fee which is required to be raised approximately 5.4 percent compared to design or supervision fee, (3) securement of elasticity of the input ratio of engineering resources from the inception phase, and (4) development of the utilization strategy of nonresident engineers based on the technical requirement of the jobsite. Thus, it is anticipated that this research would affect the compensation package of CM in order to make the estimation process of CM service fee more efficient and to revitalize CM as business.

Dynamic displacements of structures shows general behavior of structures. Generally, It is used to estimate structure condition and trustworthy physical quantity directly. Especially, measuring vertical displacement which is affected by moving load is very important part to find or identify a problem of bridge in advance. However directly measuring vertical displacement of the bridge is difficult because of test conditions and restriction of measuring equipment. In this study, Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is used to suggest estimation method of bridge displacement to overcome constrain conditions, restriction and so on. Horizontal strain and vertical displacement which are measured by appling random moving load on the bridge are applied for learning and verification of ANN. Measured horizontal strain is used to learn ANN to estimate vertical displacement of the bridge. Numerical analysis is used to acquire learning data for axis strain and vertical displacement for applying ANN. Moving load scenario which is made by vehicle type and vehicle distance time using Pearson Type III distribution is applied to analysis modeling to reflect real traffic situation. Estimated vertical displacement in respect of horizontal strain according to learning result using ANN is compared with vertical displacement of experiment and it presents vertical displacement of experiment well.

Previous management for speed in road traffic system was aimed only to the improvement of mobility and safety. However, consideration for the aspect of environment and energy consumption efficiency was valued less than the former ones. Nevertheless, economical damage scope caused by climate change has been increasing and it is estimated that environmental value will be increased because of the change of external circumstances. In addition, policy for reducing carbon emission in transportation system was assessed as insufficient in improving the condition of traffic road since it only focused on the transition of private vehicle into public transportation and development of eco-friendly car. Now it is the time to prepare for the adaptation strategy and precaution for the increased number of private vehicle in Korea. For this, paradigm shift in traffic operation which includes the policy not only about the mobility but also about caring environment would be needed. It is needed to be able to monitor the actual amount of greenhouse gas in real time to reduce the amount of emitted greenhouse gas in the aspect of traffic management. In this research, a methodology which can build on-line greenhouse gas emission monitoring system by using real time traffic data and predicting the circumstance in next 5 minutes was suggested.

Since the financial crisis broke out, liquidity has become the critical issue in housing construction industry. In order to secure liquidity, it is prerequisite to precisely forecast cash flow. However, construction companies have failed to come up with a systematic process to manage and forecast cash flow. Until now, companies have solely relied on the prediction of profits and losses, which is carried out as they review business feasibility. To obtain more accurate cash flow forecast model, practical pattern of payments should be taken into account. In this theory, basic model that analyzes practical housing payment collection pattern resulting from prepayments and arrears is described. This model is to complement conventional cash flow forecast scheme in the phase of business feasibility review. Analysis result on final losses in cash that occur as a result of prepayment and arrears is considered in this model. Additionally, in the estimation of construction cost in the phase of business feasibility review, real construction prices instead of official prices are applied to enhance accuracy of cash outflow forecast. The proportion of payment made by a bill and changes in payment date caused by rescheduling of a bill are also factored in to estimate cash outflow. This model would contribute to achieving accurate cash flow forecast that better reflect real situation and to enhancing efficiency in capital management by giving a clear picture with regard to the demand and supply timing of capital.
This study was investigated whether the perceived depth was changed depending on the measurement methods. In the method of direct comparison, virtual object with one of the various binocular disparities was presented in the frontal space with LEDs which were used for depth estimation for a binocular stimulus, while in the method of indirect comparison, visual object was presented in the frontal space but the LEDs were placed rightward at the angle of 45 degree from the mid-sagittal line. In these experimental setup, the depth of binocular stimulus was directly matched that of LED in direct comparison condition. In indirect comparison condition, however, observer estimated the depth of binocular stimulus, turned one's head rightward to the array of LEDs and turned on the LED which was supposed to be the same depth as binocular stimulus. Additionally, it was investigated whether the perceived depth was different depending on observer's stereo acuity. The results showed that perceived depths measured in the direct comparison were more similar to the depth predicted from geometry than those in the indirect comparison, and that the perceived depths from observers with high stereo acuity were similar to the predicted depth from geometry those from observers with low stereo acuity. These results indicated that stereoscopic depths of the binocular stimuli would vivid and compelling when binocular stimuli was simultaneously presented with real objects in the same visual space, like a mixed reality.
Responses of real-time control parameters, such as ORP, DO and pH, to the conditions of biological animal wastewater treatment process were examined to evaluate the stability of real-time control using each parameter. Also an optimum index for supplemental carbon source addition based on NOx-N level was determined under a consideration of denitrification rate by endogenous respiration of microorganism and residual organic matter in liquor. Experiment was performed with lab-scale sequencing batch reactor(SBR) and working volume of the process was 45L. The distinctive nitrogen break point(NBP) on ORP-and DO-time profiles, which mean the termination of nitrification, started disappearing with the maintenance of low NH4-N loading rate. Also the NBP on ORP-and DO-time profiles was no longer observed when high NOx-N was loaded into the reactor, and the sensitivity of ORP became dull with the increase of NOx-N level. However, the distinctive NBP was constantly occurred on pH(mV)-time profile, maintaining unique profile patterns. This stable occurrence of NBP on pH(mV)-time profile was lasted even at very high NOx-N:NH4-N ratio(over 80:1) in reactor, and the specific point could be easily detected by tracking moving slope change(MSC) of the curve. Revelation of NBP on pH(mV)-time profile and recognition of the realtime control point using MSC were stable at a condition of over 300mg/L NOx-N level in reactor. The occurrence of distinctive NBP was persistent on pH(mV)-time profile even at a level of 10,000mg/L STOC(soluble total organic carbon) and the recognition of NBP was feasible by tracing MSC, but that point on ORP and DO-time profiles began to disappear with the increase of STOC level in reactor. The denitrfication rate by endogenous respiration and residual organic matter was about 0.4mg/L.hr., and it was found that 0.83 would be accepted as an index for supplemental carbon source addition when 0.1 of safety factor was applied.

The domestic abandoned mines are generating subsidence and it is difficult to predict this subsidence and evaluate the risk. The study of the subsidence risk evaluation using the existing numerical analysis only applies the integrative property to the geological structure and ground condition, and analyzes the goaf peripheral plastic domain. Also, there is a realistic limit that only restricted materials can be apprehended in securing the input information, which leads to the low reliability of the numerical analysis result. In this study, 2-dimensional modeling was performed by applying the field geological structure and ground information targeting abandoned mine where the subsidence occurred. Also, the analysis model was revised by repeating the numerical analysis for the difference between the real subsidence ground information and the analysis result to be minimized by modifying the ground property. This revision was automated by applying the optimization technique and the gradational optimal design method dividing multiple ground properties was developed.
