  • Before a developed digital Power System Stabilizer(PSS) is installed to real power system, an efficient trial test for installing PSS is needed. In this paper, the performance of developed digital PSS for a single hydro-turbine generator and infinite bus system has been investigated using Real Time Digital Simulator(RTDS) in order to install PSS to real power system practically. The test system was composed of RTDS, three phase voltage/current amplifier and the PSS and the test scheme provided a very efficient way to verify the design and control performance of a PSS to be applied to real power system. The trial installation test through AVR 3% step test and three fault analysis may be guaranteed to install PSS to real power system.

  • QoS monitoring is a kind of real-time systems which allows each level of the system to track the ongoing QoS levels achieved by the lower network layers. For these systems, real-time communications between corresponding transport protocol objects is essential for their correct behavior. When two or more entities are employed to perform a certain task as in the case of communication protocols, the capability to do so is called interoperability and considered as the essential aspect of correctness of communication systems. This paper describes a formal approach on modeling and interoperability test case generation of a real-time QoS monitoring protocol. For this, we specify the behavior of flow monitoring of transport layer QoS protocol, i.e., METS protocol, which is proposed to address QoS from an end-to-end's point of view, based on QoS architecture model which includes ATM net work in lower layers. We use a real-time Input/Output finite State Machine to model the behavior of real-time flow monitoring over time. From the modeled real-time I/OFSM, we generate interoperability test cases to check the correctness of METS protocol's flow monitoring behaviors for two end systems. A new approach to efficient interoperability testing is described and the method of interoperability test cases generation is shown with the example of METS protocol's flow monitoring. The current TTCN is not appropriate for testing real-time and multimedia systems. Because test events in TTCN are for message-based system and not for stream-based systems, the real-time in TTCN can only be approximated. This paper also proposes the notation of real-time Abstract Test Suite by means of real-time extension of TTCN. This approach gives the advantages that only a few syntactical changes are necessary, and TTCN and real-time TTCN are compatible. This formal approach on interoperability testing can be applied to the real-time protocols related to IMT-2000, B-ISDN and real-time systems.

  • Recently EU has been recognized that there is a difference of emission quantity between emission certification test mode and real-road driving test. Accordingly the European Commission is currently preparing to require real-road testing as part of the passenger car type-approval process in the EU. vehicle manufacturers from 2017 are expected to test new vehicles not only under laboratory conditions but also on the real-road, using PEMS equipment. Therefore the purpose of this study is to analyze the emission and Fuel Economy of CVS-75 mode test using chassis dynamometer and RDE test using PEMS equipment by PHEV passenger car.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the immediate effects of posture correction and real-time visual feedback using a video display on muscle activity and change of head position during overhead arm lift test in individuals with forward head posture. Methods: Fifteen subjects with forward head posture and fifteen normal subjects who volunteered were included in this study. During both groups performed the overhead arm lift test, the muscle activity of the upper trapezius, serratus anterior, sternocleidomastoid, and lower trapezius muscle were measured using electromyography, and head position change was measured using photographs. Then, forward head posture group was asked to perform overhead arm lift test again after posture correction and real-time visual feedback using a video display respectively. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to analyze four conditions: pre-test, posture correction, real-time visual feedback, and the control group. Results: The upper trapezius and lower trapezius muscle activity significantly decreased posture correction, real-time visual feedback, and control group than pre-test of forward head posture group (p<0.05). The sternocleidomastoid muscle significantly decreased real-time visual feedback and control group than pre-test of forward head posture group. Head position change significantly decreased three conditions than pre-test of forward head posture group and real-time visual feedback and control group significantly decreased than posture correction. Conclusion: This study recommend for maintaining cervical stability during the overhead arm lift test, postural control using real-time visual feedback is more effective in subjects with forward head posture.

  • It is expected that the introduction of real-driving emission will strengthen the exhaust emission. However, various researches have been reported that real-driving emission has been influenced by factors such as characteristics of the test routes and driving characteristics for drivers. In order to reflect this effect, European Commission applied the concept of driving dynamics to prevent deliberately driving of excessive and acceleration over RDE test. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of exhaust emissions according to real-driving test in three test routes and driving style. As a result of the test, it was confirmed that when the same driver tested real-driving test under three test routes, it depends on the driving characteristics of the route. Also, RDE-NOx for driving style was that severe driving has been about 16 times higher than normal driving in KNUT route.

  • In this paper we propose a QoS policy, which is based on both DSCP and SPQ, appropriate to TPS users on optical subscriber network. Then we experiment and evaluate QoS policy through the test bed which emulates real optical subscriber network. In order to perform effective and real experiment on test bed we make test traffic equivalent to 400 TPS users and give it to test bed. The experimental result shows that no packet loss in real time service traffic such as voice, IPTV occurs during more than 4 hours. We think that our proposed QoS policy is a proper method which guarantees the service quality of real time services on optical subscriber network.

  • To minimize a real world test of underwater guided vehicle, it is necessary to perform a test on ground by using closed loop test techniques. This paper describes implementation of HILS(Hardware In the Loop Simulation) system for ground test and test methodologies for performance evaluation of a guided weapon. HILS system uses a real time distributed computer and a real time processing technique. Ground test results of underwater vehicle are presented for moving and stationary targets by using HILS system.

  • This paper studies experimentally on the building-up process for the amplitude of a commercial truck vibration induced by brake judder. A front axle drum equipped with a drum brake system is utilized for this experiment. A brake dynamo test, a real vehicle ride test and a real vehicle braking test are performed for the analysis of brake judder. The brake dynamo test measures judder by applying brake chamber pressures of 1, 2 and 3 bar at initial brake pad temperatures of $100^{\circ}C$ and $150^{\circ}C$. In order to assess the vertical acceleration at the front axle, the real vehicle ride test on a straight test road with velocities of 20, 40, 60 and 80 km/h is performed. The real vehicle braking test is carried out at the deceleration rate of 0.2g from a velocity of 90km/h for evaluating the vertical, lateral and longitudinal accelerations both at the front axle and at the cab floor under the driver's seat. The magnitudes and frequencies of the measured peak accelerations from the brake dynamo test, the real vehicle ride test and the real vehicle braking test are comparatively analyzed. This paper shows that the vibration produced by brake judder is built up due to the brake system's peak acceleration frequency being close to the vehicle ride mode's frequency.

  • This paper presents an implementation of a real-time multi-sensor data fusion algorithm for Flight Test Computer. The sensor data consist of positional information of the target from a radar, a GPS receiver and an INS. The data fusion algorithm is designed by the 21st order distributed Kalman Filter which is based on the PVA model with sensor bias states. A fault detection and correction logics are included in the algorithm for bad measurements and sensor faults. The statistical parameters for the states are obtained from Monte Carlo simulations and covariance analysis using test tracking data. The designed filter is verified by using real data both in post processing and real-time processing.
