Pharmaceutical wastewater effluents are well known for their difficult elimination by traditional biotreatment methods and their important contribution to environmental pollution due to its fluctuating and recalcitrant nature. OTC is one of the nonbiodegradable antibiotics that makes antibiotic-resistant, so it can make be high risk for environment. NZVI can be a good choice for removal of OTC in aqueous solution. Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to optimize the amounts of NZVI and OTC to be used at pH 3 and under 200 W, UV-A irradiation. The responses were removal percent of absorption at 290 and 348 nm, TOC and COD of OTC. In the optimum condition, Linear model was performed 155 ppm of OTC were removed by 1000 ppm NZVI after 6.5 hours and the removal efficiency of absorption at 290 and 348 nm, TOC and COD were 87, 95, 85 and 89 percent, respectively. In the similar process, there is no organic compound after 14 hours. The parameters ORP, DO and pH were investigated for 6:30 hours to study the type of NZVI reaction in process. In the beginning of reaction, oxidation was the dominant reaction after 3 hours, photocatalytic reaction was remarkable. The mechanism of OTC degradation is proposed by HPLC/ESI-MS and four by products were found. Also the rate constants (first order kinetic chain reaction model) were 0.0099, 0.0021, 0.0010, 0.0049 and $0.0074min^{-1}$, respectively.

Global warming has been a serious problem due to excessive emissions of carbon dioxide from the increase of energy consumption. The present study investigates an energy generation mechanism that does not produce carbon dioxide and oxides of nitrogen. A reaction mechanism including sodium borohydride and hydrogen peroxide has been introduced and as a result, thermal energy can be generated from combustion of hydrogen with oxygen. Sodium borohydride dissolved in water reacting with liquid hydrogen peroxide may reveal maximum adiabatic reaction temperature of 1795 K at a mixture ratio of 0.89.
The nitridation mechanism of Si by SHS at $Si-NaCl-NH_{4}Cl-NaN_3$ system was investigated in this work. It was revealed that NaCl as a diluent was helpful to the perfect nitridation reaction by retarding the growth of Si particle resulted from the melting of Si at the initial stage of the nitridation reaction. And $NH_{4}Cl\;and\;NaN_3$ formed NaCl through decomposition and combination, and the preheating of pellet was helpful to the nitridation reaction in this process. The main nitridation mechanism of this system was liquid-gas reaction. The optimum porosity of the pellet for the nitridation of ${\alpha}-Si_{3}N_4$ was $67-69\%$.
The reaction mechanism of selective catalytic reduction of NOx over sewage sludge char impregnated with MnOx using $NH_3$ as the reducing agent was investigated. The active Mn phase was shown to be $Mn_3O_4$ from the XRD analysis. Adsorption was the dominant NOx removal mechanism at low temperatures below $150^{\circ}C$ although reduction reaction also contributed partly to the NOx removal at $100{\sim}150^{\circ}C$. The reaction rate constants of NOx removal over non-impregnated and MnOx-impregnated active chars were compared based on experimental results. The MnOx-impregnated char was shown to have a higher reaction rate constant and a higher NOx removal efficiency due to a higher collision coefficient and a lower activation energy. The activation energy for both chars was shown to be relatively low (10~12 kJ/mol) under the experimental conditions of this study.
Potential energy surfaces for the reaction Al + $O_2{\to}$AlO + O have been calculated with the multireference configuration interaction (MRCI) method using molecular orbitals derived from the complete active space selfconsistent field (CASSCF) calculations. The end-on geometry is the most favourable for the reaction to take place. The small reaction barrier in the present calculation (0.11 eV) is probably an artefact related to the ionicneutral avoided crossing. The charge analysis implies that the title oxidation reaction occurs through a harpooning mechanism. Along the potential energy surface of the reaction, there are two stable intermediates of $AlO_2(C_{{\infty}v}$ and $C_{2v}$) at least 2.74 eV below the energy of reactants. The calculated enthalpy of the reaction (-0.07 eV) is in excellent agreement with the experimental value (-0.155 eV) in part due to the fortuitous cancellation of errors in AlO and $O_2$ calculations.

The mechanism of methane sensing by Pd-SiC diode was investigated over the temperature range of 400~$600^{\circ}C$. The effects or methane gas reaction on the parameters such as barrier height, initial rate of methane gas reaction are investigated. The methane gas reaction kinetics on the device are also discussed. The physical and chemical mechanism responsible for methane detection are proposed. Analysis of steady-state reaction kinetics using I-V method confirmed that methane gas reaction processes are responsible for the barrier height change in the diode.
We have been investigated the flaking mechanism of the soda-line glass. The pH of aqueous solution approached to 10 and increased with reaction time by ion exchange reaction between Na/sup +/ ion of glass and H/sup +/ ion of aqueous solution under the conditions of below pH 9 of start solution. The relationship between the pH of solution and reaction time shows logarithm. Total dissolution reaction of glass components by OH/sup -/ ion in aqueous seems to be dominant after the pH solution reached to 10 and the dissolution rate linearly increased with reaction time. The above tow reactions are simultaneously occurred. The dissolved Ca/sup 2+/ ions are reprecipitated on the glass surface to Ca-compound. The flakes are formed by the separation of leached layer of glass due to the different thermal expansion coefficient.
In this study, skeletal mechanisms are produced by directed relation graph with specified threshold value and sensitivity analysis based on species database from the directed relation graph. Skeletal mechanism is optimized through the elimination of unimportant reaction steps by computational singular perturbation importance index. Reduction is performed for the detailed mechanism of methyl butanoate consisting of 264 species and 1219 elementary reactions. Validation shows acceptable agreement for auto-ignition delays in wide parametric ranges of pressure, temperature and equivalence ratio. Methyl butanoate has been proposed as a simple biodiesel surrogate although the alkyl chain consists of four carbon atoms. The resulting surrogate mechanism for n-heptane and MB consists of 76 species and 226 reaction steps including those for NOx.
The kinetics and mechanism of oxidation of sulfanilic acid by N-chloro-p-toluene sulfonamide (chloramine-T) have been studied in acid medium. The species of chloramine-T were analysed on the basis of experimental observations and predominantly reactive species was taken into account for proposition of most plausible reaction mechanism. The derived rate law (1) conforms to such a mechanism. $$-\frac{d[CAT]}{dt}=\frac{kK_1[RNHCl][SA]}{K_1+[H^+]}$$ (1) All kinetic parameters were evaluated. Activation parameters such as energy and entropy of activation were calculated to be $(61.67{\pm}0.47)kJmol^{-1}$ and $(-62.71{\pm}2.48)kJmol^{-1}$ respectively employing Eyring equation.
