We have calculated the reaction probability and the reaction cross-section of the $N(^4S)+O_2(X^3\sum_{g}^{-})\;\rightarrow\;NO(X^2\Pi)+O(^3P)$ reaction by the quasiclassical trajectory method with the 6th-order explicit symplectic algorithm, based on a new ground potential energy surface. The advantage of the 6th-order explicit symplectic algorithm, conserving both the total energy and the total angular momentum of the reaction system during the numerical integration of canonical equations, has firstly analyzed in this work, which make the calculation of the reaction probability more reliable. The variation of the reaction probability with the impact parameter and the influence of the relative translational energy on the reaction cross-section of the reaction have been discussed in detail. And the fact is found by the comparison that the reaction probability and the reaction cross-section of the reaction estimated in this work are more reasonable than the theoretical ones determined by Gilibert et al.

The 13C (α,n)16O reaction cross-section is important data for nuclear physics, astrophysical, and neutrino physics experiments, however, they exhibit uncertainties due to the discrepancies in the experimental data. In this study, using the Nedis-2m program code, the energy spectrum of α-induced neutrons in a thin carbon target was calculated and the corresponding reaction cross-section was refined in the alpha particle energy range of 5-8 MeV. The results were used to calculate the intensity and energy spectrum of background neutrons produced in the liquid scintillator of KamLAND. The results will be useful in a variety of astrophysical and neutrino experiments especially those based on LS or Gd-LS detectors.
We measured the neutron capture cross-section of natural Sm(n,${\gamma}$) reaction in the energy regions from 0.003 to 10 eV. The 46-MeV electron linear accelerator of Research Reactor Institute, Kyoto University was used for generating a continuous neutron source. The neutron time-of-flight method was adopted for energy measurement. An assembly of BGO($Bi_4Ge_3O_{12}$) scintillators composed of 12 pieces of BGO crystals measured prompt gamma rays from Sm(n,${\gamma}$) reaction. The BGO assembly was located at a distance of $12.7{\pm}0.02m$ from the neutron source. In order to determine the neutron flux impinging on the Sm, the $^{10}B(n,{\alpha}{\gamma})^7Li$ standard cross-section were used. Natural Sm(n,${\gamma}$) reaction measurement result of the neutron capture cross-section was compared with the results of evaluation of the BROND-2.2 and the previous experimental data of J. C. Chou and V. N. Kononov.
Neutron cross section data on Dy-160, Dy-161, Dy-162, Dy-163 and Dy-164 were calculated and evaluated in the energy range of 1 keV to 20 MeV using a spherical optical model, statistical model and pre-equilibrium model. The energy dependent optical model potential parameters were obtained based on the recent experimental data. The width fluctuation correction in Hauser-Feshbach particle decay and the quantum mechanical approach in pre-equilibrium analysis were introduced and gave a better cross section calculation in EMPIRE-II. The total, elastic scattering and threshold reaction cross sections were evaluated and compared with the evaluated files. The model calculated (n, tot), (n, ${\gamma}$) and (n, p) cross sections were in good agreement with the experimental data in the measured energy range. The results will be applied to ENDF/B-VI for data improvement.
We have reported the reaction probability, integral reaction cross section, and rate constant for the title system calculated with the aid of a time-dependent wave packet approach. The ab initio potential energy surface (PES) of Prudente et al. (Chem. Phys. Lett. 2009, 474, 18) is employed for the purpose. The calculations are carried out over the collision energy range of 0.05-1.4 eV for the two reaction channels of H + LiH ${\rightarrow}$ Li + $H_2$ and $H_b$ + $LiH_a$${\rightarrow}$$LiH_b$ + $H_a$. The Coriolis coupling (CC) effect are taken into account. The importance of including the Coriolis coupling quantum scattering calculations are revealed by the comparison between the Coriolis coupling and the centrifugal sudden (CS) approximation calculations.
Nuclear fusion may be among the strongest sustainable ways to replace fossil fuels because it does not contribute to acid rain or global warming. In this context, activated cobalt materials in corrosion products for fusion energy are significant in determination of dose levels during maintenance after a coolant leak in a nuclear fusion reactor. Therefore, cross-section studies on cobalt material are very important for fusion reactor design. In this article, the excitation functions of some nuclear reaction channels induced by proton particles on $^{59}Co$ structural material were predicted using different models. The nuclear level densities were calculated using different choices of available level density models in ALICE/ASH code. Finally, the newly calculated cross sections for the investigated nuclear reactions are compared with the experimental values and TENDL data based on TALYS nuclear code.

A recent benchmarking effort, under the auspices of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), has been made to evaluate the current state of modeling and simulation tools available to model fluoride salt-cooled high temperature reactors (FHRs). The FHR benchmarking effort considered in this work consists of several cases evaluating the neutronic parameters of a 2D prismatic FHR fuel assembly model using the participants' choice of simulation tools. Benchmark participants blindly submitted results for comparison with overall good agreement, except for some which significantly differed on cases utilizing a molybdenum-bearing control rod. Participants utilizing more recently updated explicit isotopic cross sections had consistent results, whereas those using elemental molybdenum cross sections observed reactivity differences on the order of thousands of pcm relative to their peers. Through a series of supporting tests, the authors attribute the differences as being nuclear data driven from using older legacy elemental molybdenum cross sections. Quantitative analysis is conducted on the control rod to identify spectral, reaction rate, and cross section phenomena responsible for the observed differences. Results confirm the observed differences are attributable to the use of elemental cross sections which overestimate the reaction rates in strong resonance channels.

The reaction rates of ZIRLO cladding hulls with cross-section openings were investigated using a thermo-gravimetric analysis system in order to identify whether selective recovery of Zr from oxidized cladding hulls is possible. The experimental results showed that an oxidized ZIRLO cladding hull was not reactive with chlorine gas at 400℃. However, providing fresh cross-sections on one or both ends of the ZIRLO hulls enabled a chlorination reaction. This reaction was completed after 8 hours; a 14% increase on the 7 hours seen with a bare ZIRLO cladding hull. The Sharp-Hancock plot analysis results revealed that the contracting volume model is the best for describing the reaction between the cross-section opened ZIRLO hulls and chlorine gas under the condition of this work. It was concluded that the chlorination process can be employed for oxidized ZIRLO cladding hulls by providing cross-section openings.
The pairwise energy model (PEM) assumes that the cross section for the reaction cross section for the reaction A+BC$\{leftrightarrow}$B+C, where B and C are isotopes of hydrogen, depends on only the pairwise relative energy Es between A and B. Until now, the PEM has been used to interpret theoretically the isotope effect for the reactions such as $O(^3P)+HD,\;Ar^++(H_2,\;D_2,and\;HD)$. In this paper we carry out extensive quasiclassical trajectory calculations for the three possible reactions $Cl+H_2$ and HD and show that the PEM works very well at high energy. In particular we are able to accurately predict the intramolecular isotope effect at high energy for the reaction of Cl+HD using only the cross section data for $Cl+H_2$. To understand that the PEM works so well at high energy, the internal energy distributions for the products are examined. The distributions for three reactions are different at a fixed relative collision energy E but are approximately same at a fixed pairwise energy Es. This suggests that the PEM works very well at high energy. We believe the conclusions reached here will apply to other A+BC systems.

This research has been carried out to develop a low-energy large-aperture pulsed electron beam generator (LELA), 200keV 1A, for industrial applications. One of the most important feature of this electron beam generator is large electron beam cross section of $190cm^2$. Low energy electron beam generators have been used for water cleaning, flue gas cleaning, and pasteurization, etc. In these applications the cross sectionof the e-beam is related to reaction efficiency. Another important feature of this LELA EB generator is easy maintenance because of its simple structure and relatively low vacuum operation compared to the conventional EB generators. The conventional EB generators need to be scanned because the small cross section thermal electron emitters are used in the conventional EB generators which have small EB cross section. In this research, we use the secondary electrons generated by ion bombardment on the HV cathode surface as a electron source. Therefore we can make any shape of EB cross section without scanning.
