A Numerical Analysis on the Flow Characteristics of Polar Cavity (폴라캐비티(Polar Cavity)의 유동특성에 관한 수치해석)

  • A numerical study of the flow of incompressible fluid in a polar cavity is presented. Irregular grids is proposed by applying the interior division principle to the variables on polar coordinate grid formation. Stability analysis and the pressure correction method of SOLA algorithms were discussed in detail on cylindrical coordinates. The results present that unsteady flow behavior appears over $Re=3{\times}10^4$ on polar cavities but nearly steady state at $Re=10^4$. Furthermore, with increasing Reynolds numbers, vortices behaviors indicate more complicated flow phenomena and more severe temporal fluctuation of total kinetic energy and time variation of velocity components at arbitrary pick-up points are detected in case of $Re=5{\times}10^4$.

Branch and Bound Algorithm for Two-Machine Reentrant Flowshop with the Objective of Minimizing Total Flowtime (재투입이 존재하는 2단계 흐름공정에서 총 작업 흐름시간을 최소화하는 분지한계방법)

  • In this paper, we consider a two-machine re-entrant permutation flowshop scheduling problem with the objective of minimizing total flowtime, and suggest branch and bound algorithms for the scheduling problem. In this scheduling problem, each job must be processed twice on each machine, that is, each job should be processed on the two machines in the order of machine 1, machine 2 and then machine 1 and machine 2. In this research, based on the results of existing researches for re-entrant permutation flowshop scheduling problems, various dominance properties, lower bound and heuristic algorithm are suggested for the problem, and those are used to develop branch and bound algorithms. In the computational experiments for evaluation of the performance of the algorithms, the suggested branch and bound algorithms are tested on randomly generated test problems and results are reported.

Prediction of Turbulent Swirling Flow Using A Low-Reynolds-number Reynolds Stress Model (저레이놀즈수 레이놀즈응력모델을 이용한 난류선회류의 유동해석)

  • In this study, numerical calculations are carried out in order to evaluate the performance of low-Re Reynolds stress model based on SSG model for a swirling turbulent flow in a pipe. The results are compared with those of k-ε model, GL model and the experimental data. The results show that low-Re Reynolds stress model and GL model give better results than k-ε model. In the region near the wall, low-Re Reynolds stress model improves the predictions. However, there is no large difference between the predictions with two Reynolds stress models.

  • This paper investigates the reduction of RE(Radiated Emission) noise in a high power LED module circuit using PWM(Pulse Width Module) switching controller circuit. Poorly designed LED lighting module can experience the RE and CE(Conducted Emission) noise problem. This paper propose the reduction of noise source and improvement of EMI filter design in a high power LED lighting module. The experimental and simulation results showed that reduce the RE noise level effectively.

Vortex-Induced Vibrations of a Circular Cylinder at Low Reynolds Numbers

  • The vortex-induced vibrations of a circular cylinder at low Reynolds (Re) numbers are simulated by applying a method of the two-dimensional computational fluid dynamics coupled with the structural dynamics based on the multi-physics. The fluid solver is first tested on the case of a fixed cylinder at Re$\leq$160, and shows a good agreement with the previous high-resolution numerical results. The present study then reports on the detailed findings concerning the vibrations of an elastic cylinder with two degrees of translational freedom for a number of cases in which Re is fixed at 200, a reduced damping parameter Sg=0.01, 0.1, 1.0, 10.0 and the mass ratio M$\^$*/ = 1, 10.

Reference Trajectory Analysis and Trajectory Control by Bank Angle for Re-Entry Vehicle

  • The re-entry problem consists of guidance design and trajectory control. This paper summarizes the detailed relationships between the velocity, drag acceleration and altitude in determining reference trajectories. The computational issues are also addressed, and the performance of the proposed simple nonlinear control of a bank angle for the longitudinal/ lateral trajectory is demonstrated. In particular, the fixed bank angle methods that can reduce the drag acceleration errors at low-speeds are proposed. The importance of bank reversals with respect to the azimuth errors Is also elucidated.

  • 본 논문에서는 Wowza Media Server를 이용하여 IP Camera 영상을 스마트폰에 리스트리밍(Re-Streaming) 서비스하는 것을 연구하였다. 기존에 웹에 포함되어 있는 멀티미디어 파일은 서버로부터 다운로드받아 해당 파일을 실행시켰는데 이는 하드웨어 자원 문제와 다운로드 시간문제, 저장 공간을 필요로 하는 단점이 있었다. 이에 비해 스트리밍 서비스는 서버에서 실시간으로 전송되어 바로 재생이 가능하며 별도의 저장 공간을 필요로 하지 않기 때문에 스마트폰과 같은 제한적인 플랫폼에서 사용되기 적절한 서비스이다. IP Camera 영상을 스마트폰으로 스트리밍 하기위해서는 IP Camera의 영상을 Wowza Media Server로 실시간 스트리밍 한 뒤, Wowza Media Server가 이 영상을 다시 스트리밍서비스하는 리스트리밍(Re-Streaming)기법을 이용한다. 또한 VLC Player를 사용하여 IP Camera의 영상을 각기 다른 스마트폰 환경에 최적화된 영상으로 변환하여 스트리밍 서비스하였다. 이러한 IP Camera영상 스트리밍 서비스는 관공서, 공사장, 가게 등의 상황을 스마트폰으로 실시간 확인하고자 하는 수요를 만족시키기 위해 어플리케이션으로 개발되어 제공될 예정이다.

A New Pressure-Based PISO-Finite Element Method for Navier-Stokes Equations in All Speed Range (Navier-Stokes 점성유동의 전속도 영역 해석을 위한 새로운 압력기반 PISO-유한요소법)

  • A finite element scheme using the concept of PISO method has been developed to solve the Navier-Stokes viscous flows in all speed range. This scheme includes development of new pressure equation that retains both the hyperbolic term related with the density variation and the elliptic term reflecting the incompressibility constraint. The present method is applied to the incompressible two-dimensional driven cavity flow problems(Re=100, 400 and 1,000). For compressible flows, the Carter plate problem(M=3 and Re=1,000) is computed. Finally, we have simulated the shock-boundary layer interaction(M=2 and Re=2.96×10/sup 5/), a more difficult problem, and compared its results with the experiment to demonstrate the shock capturing capability of the present solution algorithm.

A Persistent Naming of Shells

  • Nowadays, many commercial CAD systems support history-based, constraint-based and feature-based modeling. Unfortunately, most systems fail during the re-evaluation phase when various kind of topological changes occur. This issue is known as "persistent naming" which refers to the problem of identifying entities in an initial parametric model and matching them in the re-evaluated model. Most works in this domain focus on the persistent naming of atomic entities such as vertices, edges or faces. But very few of them consider the persistent naming of aggregates like shells (any set of faces). We propose in this paper a complete framework for identifying and matching any kind of entities based on their underlying topology, and particularly shells. The identifying method is based on the invariant structure of each class of form features (a hierarchical structure of shells) and on its topological evolution (an historical structure of faces). The matching method compares the initial and the re-evaluated topological histories, and computes two measures of topological similarity between any couple of entities occurring in both models. The naming and matching method has been implemented and integrated in a prototype of commercial CAD Software (Topsolid).

  • The configuration of coaxial co-rotating contained in shroud provides a useful model for investigating the characteristics of flow in the HDD. Reynolds number is defined as $Re_R={\Omega}{R_o}^2/{\upsilon},\;Re_H={\Omega}R_oH/{\upsilon}$ in present study. An experimental investigation was performed for turbulence profiles and PSD distribution and vortices frequency behavior for various range of $Re_R=2.43{\times}10^4{\sim}3.61{\times}10^5$. A laser Doppler anemometry (LDA) is used to obtain the velocity field of unobstructed co-rotating disks flow. Airflow pattern visualization between inner and outer region was compared with turbulence profiles measured from LDA. Outer detached shear layer and dead-zone without oscillating velocity fluctuation to circumferential mean were quantitively traced.
