Road Deposited Sediment (RDS) is the solids formed from the wear of road, wear of vehicles, exhausts, and the input of the emissions from various sources out of the roads. RDS is seriously polluted by organic matter, nutrients, and metals. RDS plays an important role as the sink and the transport medium of the associated pollutants because RDS can be carried to the adjacent water system via stormwater runoff. In this regard, the heavy metals in RDS were investigated based on the publications. The contents of the metals in RDS were highly variable. The concentration of Cr, Ni, Cu, Fe, Zn, As, Cd, and Pb in urban RDS in various regions was in a range of 3.16-3,410, 1.15-1,382, 20.2-9,069, 2,980-124,853, 81-2,550, 2.3-214, 0.19-21.3, and 15.21-1,125 mg/kg, respectively. The anthropogenic enrichment of the metals in RDS was confirmed by the high concentration of Cu, Zn, Cd, and Pb. The contents of the metals were higher in industrial and traffic areas than in residential areas, while they were generally increased with decreasing particle size. It is believed that this study's results would contribute to quantifying the metals' load via RDS and establishing control strategies.

This paper describes general procedure and results of the GPS 3rd odor network adjustment which has been carried out for determining coordinates sets with respect to new Korean Geodetic Datum, so-call Korean Geodetic Datum 2002 (KGD 2002). The adjustment begins with minimally constrained adjustments with respect to each of the 69 campaign networks. This was followed by constructing and adjusting sixteen block network. After detecting and removing outliers in the observation file, an attempt was made by applying the empirical stochastic modeling techniques used in the 2nd order network adjustment, so as to determine the magnitude of absolute and relative error for the estimated baseline vector from the GPS data processing. The over constrained adjustment were, in sequence, performed against each of the block network. In this adjustment, both of the 2nd order control points in the block network and the 3rd order control points overlapped with adjacent network whose coordinates were already determined from a preceding adjustment. The final adjustment results have shown that the accuracy of the 3rd order network adjustment was better than 1cm and 2cm in horizontal and vertical component, respectively.

This paper proposes a improved speed control system for five-phase squirrel-cage induction motor(IM) injecting 3rd. current harmonic components with field oriented control (FOC) A five-phase IM drives present unique characteristics due to the additional degrees of freedom and also drives possess many others advantage compared with the traditional three-phase motor drive system, such as reducing a amplitude of torque pulsation at low frequency and increasing the reliability. In order to maximize the torque per ampere, the proposed motor has concentrated windings. The produced back-electromotive force is almost trapezoidal, and the motor is supplied with the combined sinusoidal plus third harmonic of currents. There is necessary to controlled 3rd harmonic current in order to high response characteristics. For presenting the superior performance of the proposed the speed control system, experimental results are presented using a 32-bit fixed point TMS320F2812 DSP with 1.5[kW] induction motor.

To evaluate the values of Aerobic on Deong-Deokoong Gymnastic that is variated Korean folk dance, 9 college women (from Soph. to Junior) who learned Korean Dance for 2 hours by week were volunteered as subjects from Sept. 1st to Nov. 3rd, 1984. Heart- rate of Deong-Deokoong Gymnastic performances recorded by 8 channel poly-graph system. 1. Critical values of Heart Rate in healthy college women is 142.54 bpm (mean). 2. Mean H.R. of Deong-Deokoong the 1st is $166.5{\pm}13.19bpm$, the 2nd is $164.06{\pm}13.93bpm$, the 3rd is $145.89{\pm}18.81bpm$, and the 4th is $151.5{\pm}16.7bpm$. 3. The ratio (%) of exercise H.R. by that of Maximum in Deong-Deokoong the 1st is $82.27{\pm}9.78%$, the 2nd is $79.91{\pm}8.65%$, the 3rd is $76.13{\pm}8.65%$, the 3rd is $76.13{\pm}9.15%$, and the 4th is $76.18{\pm}9.41%$. 4. Deong-Deokoong Gymnastic has the optimum load intensity as on aerobic function training program.

In this paper, we propose a development results of a D-type non-rechargeable lithium battery($Li/SOCl_2$) on improvement in a low cost protection circuit of discharge for domestic military power source. According to this study, we describe a new design and product with 8-bit microcontroller in the protection circuit which can estimate state of health of the battery regardless of occurring an initial voltage delay. Also this paper discuss and facilitate development as solution to a safety about the non-rechargeable lithium batteries. As a result, we verified a quality of the protection circuit by a development test and evaluation(DT&E) process.

Electro_optical characteristics in AC-PDP are confined by a lots of parameters. especially driving pulse shape is very important to improve AC-PDP's luminosity and efficiency. In that experiment measure the luminosity, IR(Infra Red) peak value and response time as the increase of 1st, 2rd sustain pulse width. The VDS(Versatile Driving Simulator -developed by kwangwoon university-) was used to make driving pulse shape. It is found that IR response time after displacement current, Luminosity and IR peak value are changed on account of 1st,2rd sustain pulse width.

Fireflies, the luminescent insect, have species specific flash patterns, being recognized as sexual communication. The lucifrrase gene is sole enzyme responsible for bioluminescence. The firefly luciferase gene is widely used as a genetic marker or as a reporter gene in a variety of organism including bacteria, plants and animals. In this study, we illustrate the complete organization of the genomic structure of the luciferase gene from L. lateralis sampled in Boun and Muju, Korea. (omitted)

Cytokines represent an essential part of the innate immune response in mammals. Recently, several studies have reported presence of cytokine-like activities and molecules in the invertebrates such as echinoderms, tunicates, molluscs and insects (Beck and Habicht, 1986; Beck et al.; 1959; Ottaviani et al.; 1993; Franchini, 1996). This study examined the relation between children's interpersonal problem solving strategies and their temperament. Two hundred and fifty nine children of the 3rd and the 5th grades were chosen from 3 elementary schools as the subjects. Data from two hundreds and six children were analysed. Alternative problem solving strategies as one of children's interpersonal problem solving strategies and their temperament were analysed according to their grade, sex, and the target persons. Children showed age and sex differences in using strategies; the 3rd graders used more solutions than the 5th graders in affirmative strategies and the girls used more solutions than the boys in affirmative strategies, but showed no differences in using negative strategies. In temperament, the 3rd graders were higher in Persistence than the 5th graders, the boys were higher in activity and the girls were higher in mood. Temperament of the children had relations with their using alternative problem solving strategies when the target persons were peers or teachers but not mothers. Persistence and mood, which are the subcategories of temperament had relations with affirmative strategies for the 3rd graders.

Purpose: This study was to identify health needs of the elderly at nursing homes by long-term care grade. Methods: The health needs of 116 elders at two nursing homes in Seoul were measured with resident assessment protocols (RAPs), activities of daily living (ADL), and cognitive performance scale (CPS), and pain and depression were measured by resident assessment instrument (RAI). Results: With regard to RAPs, 11 out of 18 items had different distribution in the 3 groups significantly. The 1st-grade elders had a higher percentage of 9 items than the 2nd- and 3rd-grade ones but the 3rd-grade ones had the highest health needs related with activity. The 2nd-grade elders had similar health needs to the 1st-grade ones. In terms of functional level, the 1st-grade elders had the highest percentage of CPS and ADL but the 3rd-grade ones had the highest score of pain and depression out of the 3 groups. The standardized assessment instrument to identify specific health needs by the 3 groups should be developed. Therefore, care plans to meet health needs of the 3 groups will be made. Conclusion: It is suggested that nursing care is required to the elderly of the 1st- and 2nd-grade and safe activity and environment to the 3rd-graded ones.
