수중 환경 정보 DB 기반 준-정적 수중음향 채널 수중음향 탐지 효과도 분석 모의 도구 구현 (Effectiveness Analysis Tool for Underwater Acoustics Detection in Quasi-static Underwater Acoustics Channel based on Underwater Environmental Information DB)

  • 수중음향 채널환경에서 운영되는 검파시스템 성능분석은 실험의 제약으로 인해 모의 도구를 활용하여 시스템 성능을 결정한다. 본 논문은 수중음향 채널에 대한 탐지 효과도 분석을 위하여 수중환경 데이터베이스를 기반 수중음향 탐지 효과도 분석 모의 도구를 제안한다. 먼저, HYCOM 수중환경 데이터베이스 기반으로 수중 환경을 구축하고, 음선이론을 이용하여 수중음향 전달 경로/음압 계산을 통한 다중경로 지연 특성을 고려하였다. 또한, 실 환경에서 발생하는 수중 잡음 특성을 반영하기 위해 운용 주파수에 따른 수중청음기/수중음향 채널 잡음 특성인 열잡음/수중 주변 잡음을 적용하였다.

  • Typical analytical tools in noise level estimation are using BEM and Ray Acoustics for acoustic field.0 this paper, application of both approaches have been examined for the prediction on the exterior surface of railway vehicles. Advantages and disadvantages of the tool have been also evaluated. The result shows that sound understanding of the analytical tools for noise evaluation is necessary.

가스터빈 차폐막의 소음 저감효과에 관한 연구 (The Noise Reduction Effect by the Enclosure of Gas Turbines)

  • A gas turbine is the main equipment used in a combined heat and power plant. It generates a high sound pressure noise level. To reduce the noise level, an enclosure is installed around the turbine. The sound insulation performance of the enclosure affects the amount of external noise reduction. In this study, a sound transmission loss analysis is performed using the boundary element method to predict sound insulation performance according to the numbers and shapes of the supporter. Radiated noise analysis is also performed for the main external points of the enclosure using ray-acoustics. The results of these analyses are presented and a design plan is proposed that reduces the sound pressure noise level of the enclosure.

음향산란이론모델을 이용한 멸치(Engraulis japonicus)의 음향산란강도 추정 (Target Strength of Anchovy Engraulis japonicaus by Theoretical Acoustic Scattering Model)

  • This study estimates the target strength of anchovy Engraulis japonicus required for studying their distribution and density using acoustics and evaluates the acoustic scattering characteristics of anchovies by frequency using the Kirchoff ray mode (KRM) model. The experiment was conducted on 30 anchovies with 4.7-21.5 cm total length. The maximum TScm (Simming angle, 9.1°; standard deviation, ± 13.1°) according to total length was -66.9, -65.2, -64.4, and -63.4 dB at 38, 70, 120, and 200 kHz, respectively. The average TScm (Simming angle: 9.1°, standard deviation: ± 13.1°) according to total length was -68.9, -68.8, -69.6, and -70.0 dB at 38, 70, 120, and 200 kHz, respectively. The results of this study provide an important basis for future studies that use acoustics to estimate the target strength of anchovies.

도로소음의 예측모델에 대한 비교$\cdot$평가 (Application of Ray Acoustics in Outdoor Noise Propagation : NIC@E)

  • NIC@E is the software developed by authors. The program provides the noise level in outdoors due to various noise source types : construction machines including blast sources, railroad vehicles and automobiles. It operates in the Windows system. In this paper, a highway traffic noise has been evaluated using various types of approach : Ray-tracing method, NIRI method, JAS method. In order to compare the noise estimation performance for various models, a measurement is conducted on a 8 lane express highway at the distance of 25 m and 50 m from the lane. The result shows that the ray tracing and JAS model predict the measured value well within 2dB deviaton. The NIRI model, however, underestimates the highway noise level, as the distance between the source and receiver increases.

흡음에 의한 도시철도 곡선부 스퀼 소음저감에 관한 연구 (A Study on Squeal Noise Control by Absorption Treatment in Urban Rail Transit System)

  • Sound absorbing materials are applied to the exposed surfaces of curvet subway tunnel for the reduction of curving noise level. Before the treatment, acoustical engineering simulation is performed to predict the noise level reduction for different kinds and amounts of absorbing material. The principle of geometrical acoustics is utilized to perform the simulation efficiently and accurately. The noise bevels of the inside and outside of running car body are measured to find the noise level reduction. The average noise level reduction of 8 dB has been attained. It has been shown that the simulated results are comparable to the measured ones.

Numerical modeling and simulation technique in time-domain for multibeam echo sounder

  • A Multibeam Echo Sounder (MBES) is commonly used for rapid seafloor mapping. We herein present a time-domain integrated system simulation technique for MBES development. The Modeling and Simulation (M&S) modules consist of four parts: sensor array signal transmission, propagation and backscattering modeling in the ocean environment, beamforming of the received signals, and image processing. Also, the simulation employs a ray-theory-based algorithm to correct the reconstructed bathymetry, which has errors due to the refraction caused by the vertical sound velocity profile. The developed M&S technique enables design parameter verification and system parameter optimization for MBES. The framework of this technique can also be potentially used to characterize the seabed properties. Finally, typical seafloor images are presented and discussed.

  • 수중환경에서 운영되는 무기체계 획득을 위한 설계/개발을 진행하기 위해 수중음향채널 모델링 및 시뮬레이션을 통한 분석은 필수적이다. 일반적으로 수중음향채널 분석을 위해 사용되는 수중음향 전파 수치해석 모델은 음선이론 법, 정규방식 법, 포물선방정식 법, 파수적분 법이 있으나 다중 주파수 분석일 경우 유효성과 신호처리 및 분석에 제한적이다. 본 논문은 단일 및 다중 주파수 분석 및 신호처리 및 분석이 용이한 기존 의사 스펙트럼 시간영역 법 수중음향 수치해석 모델에 수중환경 소음 모델을 적용하여 실제 수중환경과 유사한 합성환경 수중음향채널을 모델링 하였다. 이렇게 구현된 합성환경 수중음향채널 모델의 유효성을 확인하기 위해 단일 주파수 신호 시나리오 4가지 다중 주파수 신호 시나리오 4가지 및 잠수함 기동에 따른 방사소음 분석 시나리오 시뮬레이션을 통해 의사 스펙트럼 시간영역 법 합성환경 수중음향채널 모델 유효성을 확인하였다.

  • The diffuse sound field plays a crucial role in the perceptual quality of the auralization of virtual scenes. Diffuse Rain is a geometrical scattering model which enables the simulation of diffuse fields that is compatible with acoustic ray tracing, but is often computationally expensive. We develop a novel method that can reduce this cost by rendering the large number of Diffuse Rain data in Ambisonics format. The proposed method is evaluated in a shoebox scene simulation run on MATLAB, in reference to a more faithful method of rendering the Diffuse Rain data ray-by-ray. The EDC and IACC of the binaural output show that the simulated diffuse field can be rendered in Ambisonics with only minimal deviations in energy decay and spatial quality, even with 1st-order Ambisonics.

The Resonance Frequency of Sound Channel in Shallow Water a Thermocline

  • In shallow water with a thermocline, the characteristics of sound propagation strongly depend on the signal frequency. When only one of the source and the receiver is above the themocline, it is known that the intensity of the received signal changes largely and almost periodically as the signal frequency varies. This is the so-called channel resonance. By using the ray-mode approach, the formula relating the resonance frequency and the sound speed profile is obtained, and the resonance phenomenon is analyzed. Also this analysis is verified by numerical calculation.
