아동이 지각한 어머니의 심리적 통제와 애정·합리적 양육태도가 아동의 귀인양식에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Mothers' Psychological Control and Affectionate-Rational Parenting on Children's Attributional Style)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among perceived mothers'psychological control, affectionate-rational parenting and children's attributional style. The main and interaction effects of psychological control, affectionate-rational parenting on children's attributional style were also explored. Methods: The participants of this study were 253 children from elementary schools located in Seoul and Incheon. Data were analyzed through Pearson's correlation, and hierarchical regression using SPSS 22.0. Results: The major findings of this study were as follows. First, children's attributional style for negative events was positively associated with psychological control but negatively associated with affectionate-rational parenting. Moreover, attributional style for positive events was positively associated with only affectionate-rational parenting. Second, affectionate-rational parenting significantly influenced children's attributional style for both negative events and positive events. Finally, significant interaction effects of psychological control and affectionate-rational parenting on children's attributional style for negative events were observed. Conclusion/Implications: This study revealed that mothers' psychological control and affectionate-rational parenting are important factors in explaining children's attributional style. Such results could be used as an effective resource in developing parent education programs or intervention programs for attributional style.

Extraction of rational functions by forced vibration method for time-domain analysis of long-span bridges

  • Rational Functions are used to express the self-excited aerodynamic forces acting on a flexible structure for use in time-domain flutter analysis. The Rational Function Approximation (RFA) approach involves obtaining of these Rational Functions from the frequency-dependent flutter derivatives by using an approximation. In the past, an algorithm was developed to directly extract these Rational Functions from wind tunnel section model tests in free vibration. In this paper, an algorithm is presented for direct extraction of these Rational Functions from section model tests in forced vibration. The motivation for using forced-vibration method came from the potential use of these Rational Functions to predict aerodynamic loads and response of flexible structures at high wind speeds and in turbulent wind environment. Numerical tests were performed to verify the robustness and performance of the algorithm under different noise levels that are expected in wind tunnel data. Wind tunnel tests in one degree-of-freedom (vertical/torsional) forced vibration were performed on a streamlined bridge deck section model whose Rational Functions were compared with those obtained by free vibration for the same model.

3, 4, 5세 유아의 합리적인 수세기, 더하기, 빼기 능력 발달에 관한 연구 (The Development of Competence in Rational Counting, Addition and Subtraction in Three-, Four- and Five-Year-Old Children)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the development of rational counting, addition and subtraction competence and the correlation between competence in rational counting, addition, and subtraction in three-, four- and five-year-old children. The subjects were 156 preschoolers living in Seoul. The experimental materials consisted of a set of 20 props for rational counting, addition, and subtraction tasks. The addition and subtraction tasks each consisted of a set of 6 problems. The data were analyzed by ANOVA, Duncan multiple range test, and Pearson's r. The results indicated that 1) there were significant differences in the development of competence in rational counting, addition, and subtraction by age, 2) there were no significant differences in competence in rational counting, addition, and subtraction by gender, 3) there were positively high correlations of competence rational counting, addition, and subtraction by age.

합리식의 확률론적 해석과 유출계수의 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on Probabilistic Analysis of the Rational Method and Application of Runoff Coefficient)

  • The rational method of estimating peak flow is used largely for the simplicity. But the accuracy of rational method is not easy to estimate, because the rational method is analyzed by the deterministic point or view and the runoff coefficients of the rational method are proposed from other countries. In this study the rational method is analyzed by the probabilistic way to be a more reliable method. The runoff coefficient is regarded to parameter that changes the probabilistic rainfall to the peak flow. The runoff coeffient for each return period is analyzed to be a reliable index which is used to estimate the peak flow of ungauged natural catchments.

RATIONAL HOMOLOGY BALLS IN 2-HANDLEBODIES

  • We prove that there are rational homology balls $B_p$ smoothly embedded in the 2-handlebodies associated to certain knots. Furthermore we show that, if we rationally blow up the 2-handlebody along the embedded rational homology ball $B_p$, then the resulting 4-manifold cannot be obtained just by a sequence of ordinary blow ups from the 2-handlebody under a certain mild condition.

  • An algorithmic approach to degree reduction of rational Bezier curves is presented. The algorithms are based on the degree reduction of polynomial Bezier curves. The method is introduced with the following steps: (a) convert the rational Bezier curve to polynomial Bezier curve by using homogenous coordinates, (b) reduce the degree of polynomial Bezier curve, (c) determine weights of degree reduced curve, (d) convert the Bezier curve obtained through step (b) to rational Bezier curve with weights in step (c).

  • It is frequently important to approximate a rational B$\acute{e}$zier curve by an integral, i.e., polynomial one. This need will arise when a rational B$\acute{e}$zier curve is produced in one CAD system and is to be imported into another system, which can only handle polynomial curves. The objective of this paper is to present an algorithm to approximate rational B$\acute{e}$zier curves with polynomial curves of higher degree.

  • In [6], the author studied the property of the Szeg kernel and had a result that if $\Omega$ is a smoothly bounded domain in C and the Szeg kernel associated with $\Omega$ is rational, then any proper holomorphic map from $\Omega$ to the unit disc U is rational. It leads to the study of the proper rational map of $\Omega$ to U. In this note, first we simplify the proof of the above result and prove an existence theorem of a proper rational map. Before we proceed to state our result, we must recall some preliminary facts.(omitted)

  • For numerical evaluation of Cauchy principal value integrals, we present a simple rational function with a parameter satisfying some reasonable conditions. The proposed rational function is employed in coordinate transformation for accelerating the accuracy of the Gauss quadrature rule. The efficiency of the proposed rational transformation method is demonstrated by the numerical result of a selected test example.
