영산호의 부영양화 평가를 위한 인부하모델의 검토 (A Study on Phosphorus Loading model for Eutrophication Response in the Yongsan Lake)

  • The purpose of this is made an examination of phosphorus loading model for eutrophication response in the Yongsan lake. For the model, we measured the total amount of nutrients derived from the Yongsan river watershed, inflow rate to the Yongsan lake, water quality, and water budget from January to December in 1999. The total amount of precipitation in the Yongsan river watershed was 4,951.7$\times$10$^{6}$ ㎥/y and inflow amount was 2,569.7$\times$10$^{6}$ ㎥/y, therefore the outflow rate of the Yongsan river watershed was 51.9%. The develop loading of total nitrogen was 86,928.1kg/d and that of total phosphorus was 22,007.6kg/d at the Yongsan river watershed, But, as the inflow loading of total nitrogen was 33,962kg/d and the inflow loading of total phosphorus was 2,218kg/d to the Yongsan lake. so each infolw rate was 39.0% and 10.1%. The hydraulic residence time was 34days, total phosphorus loading [L(P)] on the surface area was 23.398g/㎥/y, the hydraulic load( $Q_{s}$) of inflow water was 74.269m/y, the reserve rate of phosphorus in the lake was 0.359, and the settinh velocity of phosphorus was 0.114m/d at the Yongsan lake. Simulation of the behaviour of RC columns strengthen with CFRP under rapid loading

  • In most cases strengthening reinforced concrete columns exposed to high strain rate is to be expected especially within weak designed structures. A special type of loading is instantaneous loading. Rapid loading can be observed in structural columns exposed to axial loads (e.g., caused by the weight of the upper floors during a vertical earthquake and loads caused by damage and collapse of upper floors and pillars of bridges).Subsequently, this study examines the behavior of reinforced concrete columns under rapid loading so as to understand patterns of failure mechanism, failure capacity and strain rate using finite element code. And examines the behavior of reinforced concrete columns at different support conditions and various loading rate, where the concrete columns were reinforced using various counts of FRP (Fiber Reinforcement Polymer) layers with different lengths. The results were compared against other experimental outcomes and the CEB-FIP formula code for considering the dynamic strength increasing factor for concrete materials. This study reveals that the finite element behavior and failure mode, where the results show that the bearing capacity increased with increasing the loading rate. CFRP layers increased the bearing capacity by 20% and also increased the strain capacity by 50% through confining the concrete.

P92와 STS 316L강의 고온 피로 균열 성장에 미치는 하중 파형의 영향 (The Effect of Loading Waveform on the High Temperature Fatigue Crack Propagation in P92 and STS 316L Steel)

  • High temperature fatigue crack growth behavior of P92 and STS 316L steel were investigated under four load conditions using CT type specimens. Loading and unloading times for the low wave forms were combinations of 1 sec. and 50 sec., which were two symmetric wave forms and two unsymmetric wave forms. Their behaviors are characterized using ΔK parameter. In STS 316L, Crack growth rate generally increases as frequency decreases. However, sensitivity of the loading rate to crack growth rate was fecund to be far greater than that of the unloading time. It is because as loading time increases, creep occurs at crack tip causing the crack growth rate to increase. However creep does not occur at the crack tip even if the unloading time is increased. In P92 steel, crack growth rate showed same behavior as in STS 316L. But the increase in loading or unloading time made almost no difference in crack growth rate, suggesting that no significant creep occurs in P92 steel even though loading time increases. After conducting high temperature tensile tests and comparing high temperature fatigue crack growth rates under various wave forms, it was proved that P92 steel has not only good high temperature properties but also improved, better high temperature fatigue properties than STS 316L.

재하속도를 이용한 중간토의 지지력 평가 (Relationships of Loading Rates and Bearing Capacities on Intermediate Soils)

  • 본 연구는 중간토의 지지력 및 변형특성을 조사하기 위해 원심재하장치(centrifuge)를 이용한 지지력 실험을 시행한 결과이다. 점성토에 비해 투수계수가 비교적 큰 중간토지 반을 대상으로 재하 과정에서 발생하는 배수현상이 지반의 지지력에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 그 결과, 재하 속도와 지반의 투수계수와의 관계, 즉 본 연구에서 정의한 상대재하속도와 하중강도의 관계로부터 기존 설계상의 문제점을 지적하였고, 또한 재하속도의 차이에 의해 동일 침하량비에서의 하중강도의 대소관계가 역전하는 현상은 비 배수상태의 재하속도 의존성 뿐만 아니라 재하초기부터 발생하는 부분배수현상에 의한 것임을 재하중에 관측한 과잉간극수압의 거동과 변형거동을 중심으로 증명하였다. 나아가 중간토지반에 있어서 기초폭과 초기 지반응력 상태가 지지력에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 기초폭과 과압밀비를 변화시켜 중간토지반의 지지력 특성을 조사 하였다.

  • Energy recovery technology from municipal solid waste has been increasingly established in many countries. Anaerobic treatment of municipal sewage sludge has low digestion efficiency because of low organic loading rate of sewage sludge. The purpose of this study was to evaluate anaerobic biodegradability of food waste which was based on organic loading rate and seeding rate. From the results of anaerbic biodegration, the optimum condition for seeding rate was turn out over 40%, which did not inhibition of methane production.

GIS를 이용한 유역별 오염부하량 산정시스템의 개발 (Development of Pollutant Loading Estimation System using GIS)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a system, which estimates watershed pollutant loading rate through the combination of GIS and computational mode. Also, the applicability of this study was estimated by the application of the above system for Chuncheon City. The detailed results of these studies are as follows; The pollutant loading estimation system was developed for more convenient estimation of pollutant loading rate in watershed, and the system load was minimized by the separation of estimation module for point and non-point source. This system on the basis of GIS is very economical and efficient because it can be applied to other watershed with the watershed map. System modification is not needed. The pollutant loading estimation system for point source was developed to estimate the pollutant loading rate in watershed through the extraction of the proper data from all districts and yearly data and the execution of spatial analysis which is main function of GIS. From the verification result of spatial analysis, real watershed area and the administrative districtarea extracted by spatial analysis were $1,114,893,340.15m^2$ and $1,114,878,683.68m^2$, respectively. It shows that the spatial analysis results were very exact with only 0.001% error. The pollutant loading estimation system for non-point source was developed to calculate the pollutant loading rate through the overlaying of land-use and watershed map after the construction of new land-use map using the land register database with most exact land use classification. Application result for Chuncheon City shows that the proposed system results in one percent land use error while the statistical method results in five percent. More exact nonpoint source pollutant loading was estimated from this system.

  • 대부분 동적 성능 평가는 반복 가력 실험을 수행함으로써 구조물의 동적 응답을 평가할 수 있다. 일반적으로 강재는 재하속도 의존성 재료로 알려져 있으며 기둥 부재의 횡방향인 수평방향 가력 시 기둥 부재의 축력인 수직하중이 작용하면 부재의 응답에 영향을 미친다. 하지만, 강재 기둥 구조물의 실험 시 수평 및 수직하중을 동시에 제어하는 것이 어려워 관련 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 기둥 부재를 ATS Compensator와 FLB 시스템을 이용하여 수평 및 수직하중을 고속으로 제어하였다. 실험은 H-형 구조용 압연강재인 SS275을 이용하여 수직 하중을 제어하면서 여러 속도로 단조 및 반복 가력 실험을 수행하고 부재의 항복 하중을 비교하였다. 또한, 유한요소해석 시 재하속도에 따라 새로운 항복 응력을 제안하고 수치해석을 통해 비교하였다.

준혐기-호기 생물막 공정을 이용한 돈사폐수 처리 (Treatment of Piggery Wastewater by Anoxic-Oxic Biofilm Process)

  • This research aims to develop biofilm process for the nutrient removal of piggery wastewater. The developed process is the four stage anoxic-oxic biofilm process with recirculation of the final effluent. In summery, the results are as follows: 1. Nitrification in the piggery wastewater built up nitrite because of the high strength ammonia nitrogen. The nitrification of nitrobacter by free ammonia was inhibited in the total ammonia nitrogen loading rate with more than 0.2 kgNH$_{3}$-N/m$^{3}$·d. 2. The maximal total ammonia nitrogen removal rate was obtained at 22$\circ $C and without being affected by the loading rate. But total oxidized nitrogen production rate was largely affected by loading rate. 3. Autooxidation by the organic limit was a cause of the phosphorus release in the aerobic biofilm process. But the phosphorus removal rate was 90 percent less than the influent phosphorus volumetric loading rate of above 0.1 kgP/m$^{3}$·d. Therefore, the phosphorus removal necessarily accompanied the influent loading rate. 4. On the anoxic-oxic BF process, the total average COD mass balance was approximately 67.6 percent. Under this condition, the COD mass removal showed that the cell synthesis and metabolism in aerobic reactor was 42.8 percent and that the denitrification in anoxic reactor was 10.7 percent, respectively.

  • Acoustic emission behavior during fatigue crack growth test was investigated under various loading condition. To describe the acoustic emission activity, counts rate (d/dn) was related with SIFR (stress intensity factor range, K). Results indicated that SIFR could be divided into two parts according to its relationship with counts rate. For $K<25_{MPa\sqrt{m}}$, counts rate was increased as the SIFR increased. However, for values greater than $25_{MPa\sqrt{m}}$ , decreasing behavior was shown. This behavior of counts rate corresponding SIFR was keeping the same trend regardless of load range or crack length. Acoustic emission response to the single overload was sudden drop and slow recovery in counts rate like crack growth retardation. Under variable loading condition, counts rate of each loading block was same as that of constant amplitude loading. Overall experimental data was somewhat scattered since sensitive characteristics of acoustic emission method. However, these empirical relations indicated that counts rate was uniquely correlate with single parameter, SIFR.

Effects of particle size and loading rate on the tensile failure of asphalt specimens based on a direct tensile test and particle flow code simulation

  • This study, it was tried to evaluate the asphalt behavior under tensile loading conditions through indirect Brazilian and direct tensile tests, experimentally and numerically. This paper is important from two points of view. The first one, a new test method was developed for the determination of the direct tensile strength of asphalt and its difference was obtained from the indirect test method. The second one, the effects of particle size and loading rate have been cleared on the tensile fracture mechanism. The experimental direct tensile strength of the asphalt specimens was measured in the laboratory using the compression-to-tensile load converting (CTLC) device. Some special types of asphalt specimens were prepared in the form of slabs with a central hole. The CTLC device is then equipped with this specimen and placed in the universal testing machine. Then, the direct tensile strength of asphalt specimens with different sizes of ingredients can be measured at different loading rates in the laboratory. The particle flow code (PFC) was used to numerically simulate the direct tensile strength test of asphalt samples. This numerical modeling technique is based on the versatile discrete element method (DEM). Three different particle diameters were chosen and were tested under three different loading rates. The results show that when the loading rate was 0.016 mm/sec, two tensile cracks were initiated from the left and right of the hole and propagated perpendicular to the loading axis till coalescence to the model boundary. When the loading rate was 0.032 mm/sec, two tensile cracks were initiated from the left and right of the hole and propagated perpendicular to the loading axis. The branching occurs in these cracks. This shows that the crack propagation is under quasi-static conditions. When the loading rate was 0.064 mm/sec, mixed tensile and shear cracks were initiated below the loading walls and branching occurred in these cracks. This shows that the crack propagation is under dynamic conditions. The loading rate increases and the tensile strength increases. Because all defects mobilized under a low loading rate and this led to decreasing the tensile strength. The experimental results for the direct tensile strengths of asphalt specimens of different ingredients were in good accordance with their corresponding results approximated by DEM software.
