The purpose of this case study is to examine the effects of Korean traditional medicine in the postoperative treatment of proximal humeral fracture. The patient with postoperative pain following proximal humeral fracture surgery was treated with Korean traditional medicine including acupuncture cupping therapy and herbal medicine in hospital for 67 days. The effects of the treatment were evaluated using the Numerical Rate Scale (NRS), Range Of Motion (ROM), and Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI). As a result of treatment, the NRS score was reduced from 7 to 3, the ROM was improved (on average by 21%), SPADI was reduced from 93 to 25.9. This study proposes that Korean traditional medicine may be effective in postoperative treatment for proximal humeral fracture.

This study was designed to investigate the effect of Bee Venom Acupuncture on Ligament Relaxation. The patient was treated with Bee Venom Acupuncture Therapy, Acupuncture and Microwave. Bee Venom Acupuncture Therapy was administered at fibroosseous junction of the relaxed ligament. We evaluated the patient through Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Range of Motion(ROM), tenderness. Atter treatment, the patients showed that clinical symptoms was disappeared, VAS changed from 10 to 1 and there was no limitation of ROM. According to the result, Bee Venom Acupuncture Therapy may have rapid effects on the Ligament Relaxation. But further studies are required to prove the effect of Bee Venom Acupuncture Therapy of Ligament Relaxation

An approach to the treatment of post-operative pain by the injection of bupivacaine into the pleural space through an intrapleural cathter has been studied. Among 24 thoracotomy patients, bupivacaine was injected only to experimental group[ 12 patients ] when the patient was able to head up for oneself during recovery from anesthesia. The pain and ROM[ range of motion ] scores, respiration rate, PaCO2 level of both experimental and control group were measured at the time of head-up and 30 and 120 minutes thereafter.The scores of pain and ROM of experimental group were significantly[ P value < 0.05 ] decreased in 30 minutes and 120 minutes after bupivacaine injection compared with those of control group but respiration rate and PaCO2 level were not changed significantly. With this result, we can suggest that intrapleural injection of bupivacaine is useful for pain relief following thoracotomy.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to understanding of a hemophiliac with hemarthrosis and provided information of rehabilitative therapy. Methods : The General understanding and rehabilitative therapy of a hemophiliac with hemarthrosis considered the matter carefully using a related publications and a internet searching investigation. Results : From the physical therapeutic method for pain alleviation, decreasing edema, ability of muscular strength and control, range of motion(ROM) in joint, prevention of damage on hemorrhaged joint in the hemophiliac with hemarthrosis, rehabilitative therapy for exercise of ROM, muscular strength, proprioceptive sense was most effective for patients. Conclusion : Physical therapists known the rehabilitative therapy should helped a hemophiliac with hemarthrosis to prevent from permanent change.

This study is designed to evaluate the effect of conservative oriental medical treatment with Kyungkuen Chuna for Herniated intervertebral lumber disc(HIVD) patient. The improvement of the patient was evaluated by Range of Motion(ROM), Straight Leg Rasing Test(SLRT), Visual Analogue Scale(VAS), Oswestry Low-back Pain Disability Index(ODI). After conservative oriental medical treatment with Kyungkuen Chuna, ROM, SLRT, VAS and ODI were significantly improved. It is suggested that Conservative oriental medical treatment with Kyungkuen Chuna could be effective methods to treat the HIVD patient.

Objectives : This study was performed to report a case of adhesive capsulitis treated by intra-articular bee venom pharmacopuncture. Methods : Patient was treated by intra-articular bee venom pharmacopuncture four times during two weeks, and after that the patient had intermission period for 2 weeks. The same treatment was administered four times during two weeks after the intermission. The effect of treatment was evaluated by visual analog scale(VAS), range of motion(ROM). Results : After treatment, VAS score declined from 7 to 4, ROM increased. Conclusions : Intra-articular bee venom pharmacopuncture was effective for adhesive capsulitis.

The purpose of this study is to report the effects of korean medical treatment including chuna after cervical surgery. We used acupuncture, chuna manual therapy, herbal medication on this patient and measured neck disability index (NDI) score, numerical rating scale (NRS) and cervical range of motion (ROM) to evaluate the treatment effects. Patient's NDI score and neck and upper extremity pain NRS were decreased and cervical ROM was increased.

There are a lot of roots of errors in the motion of the optical pickup actuator being one of the most significant components in the CD-ROM drive. Most of the studies recently performed have a tendency to seek fur the causes from an actuator itself. We found the fact that the range of the natural frequencies of a feeding deck and an actuator is close each other through an experiment. This paper present the dynamic characteristics of an actuator affected by the motion of a feeding deck. (omitted)

The purpose of this study was to quantify the isokinetic peak torque and range of motion at the shoulder in 8 national male volleyball players who played during the 2008 professional leagues. In this study the strength and range of motion data in the internal rotation(IR) and external rotation(ER) of shoulder joint were measured with isokinetic measurement system(Biodex Inc) and motion analysis system (Simi motion system Inc.) from 3 volleyball players with atrophy of the infrasupinatus and 5 volleyball players without atrophy of the infraspinatus. Peak torques were determined using isokinetic measurement on the shoulder joint rotator at the point of angular velocities of $60^{\circ}$/s. Significant difference was found in the peak torque, IR / ER ratio and the range of motion through assessment of the dominant shoulder between two groups. we recommended functional exercises that improve both external rotators strength and stretching exercise for internal rotation in the dominant side during the prevention programs in volleyball players.

This study presents the cases of a 67-year-old female with an isolated left sacral fracture and a 69-year-old female with fractures in sacrum 1, 2, and the left pubic bone. Both patients exhibited marked improvement following integrative Korean medicine treatment, encompassing acupuncture, acupotomy, pharmacopuncture, herbal medicine, moxibustion, and cupping therapy. The treatment's efficacy was assessed using the numerical rating scale (NRS) scores, range of motion (ROM) in the lumbar spine, and alterations in gait and walking distance. Case 1 demonstrated an enhanced ROM and achieved independent walking after 29 days of treatment. Case 2 improved in both ROM and NRS score and could walk independently after 49 days of treatment. Significantly, radiological images showed notable changes in both cases following treatments. The study indicates that integrative Korean medicine treatment could provide clinical advantages to individuals suffering from sacral fractures.
