  • Randomized response technique is a survey technique for eliminating evasive answer bias. This technique is popular in social survey for sensitive issues. In this paper we present a simple and obvious procedure for estimating the population proportion of a sensitive group. Here, we shows the weak point in the method of Kim and Warde (2005). Also, it is found that the proposed procedure is more efficient than the ones of Warner (1965) and Kim and Warde (2005). Lastly we discuss the conditions that the suggested method will be more efficienct.

  • Early identification and intervention for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) were reported to be important for outcomes or clinical courses. However, there have been a few robust evidences for effectiveness of early intervention until now. This review aims to identify the effectiveness of early intervention by investigating the randomized controlled trial (RCT) of early intervention for autism. There are some RCT studies using behavioral program. Although there are some significant findings, the outcome measurements and small sample size are the limitations. Further studies are needed.

  • Mack and Skillings (1980) proposed a typical nonparametric method in a randomized block design with replications. However, this method may lose information because of the use of average observations instead of individual observations. In this paper, we proposed a nonparametric method that employed an aligned method suggested by Hodges and Lehmann (1962) under a randomized block design with replications. In addition, the comparative results of a Monte Carlo power study are presented.

  • In this paper we develop the web-based unified randomized response system for obtaining more reliable response to the sensitive characteristic such as a crime of violence at home, and a bribing and so on. This survey system embody to apply with from the classical to recently research, for example from the Warner's model to the 2-stage model. In addition, our survey system is able to link between the typical and the randomized response system. Finally, our survey system looks into a variation according to various sensitive questions as well as it can be used for a single question.

  • We propose a PC cluster using general-purpose microprocessors and a high-speed network for simulating ANN (Artificial Neural Network) processes on Linux OS. We apply this cluster to intelligent information processing such as ANN simulation. The elapsed time for simulating ANNs can be reduced from 7,295 seconds by a PE (Processing Element) to 1,226 seconds by six PEs. The reliability of a pattern-classification using ANNs can be improved by the proposed ANN, Randomized-ANN. In order to generate a Randomized-ANN, we choose three ANNs and combine the output results from three huts by means of logical AND. Results are as follows: The mean correct answer rate is 94.4%, the mean wrong answer rate is only 0.1 %, and the mean unknown answer rate is 5.5 %. We make sure that Randomized-ANN approach reduces the mean wrong answer rate within a tenth part and improves the reliability of Japanese coin classification.

  • This paper describes the 2-stage randomized response model in the Bayesian view point. The classical Bayesian analysis needs the complete information for a prior density, but the Bayes linear estimator needs only the first and second moments. Therefore, it is convenient to find the estimator and this estimator robusts to a prior density. We show that MSE's of the Bayes linear estimators for the 2-stage randomized response models are smaller than those of the MLE's for the 2-stage randomized response models.

  • This article presents a new nonlinear joint (state and parameter) estimation algorithm based on fusion of Kalman filter and randomized unscented Kalman filter (UKF), called Kalman randomized joint UKF (KR-JUKF). It is assumed that the measurement equation is linear. The KRJUKF is suitable for time varying and severe nonlinear dynamics and does not have any systematic error. Finally, joint-EKF, dual-EKF, joint-UKF and KR-JUKF are applied to a CSTR with cooling jacket, in which production of propylene glycol happens and performance of KR-JUKF is evaluated.

  • Objectives The study was conducted to evaluate the recent treatment and study trends of tic disorder by reviewing domestic and international randomized controlled studies. Methods The acupuncture treatment on tic disorder randomized control study articles (published by June 10th, 2016) were selected from seven academic literature archives; NDSL, OASIS, KTKP, Pubmed, J-STAGE, CNKI, and CINAHL. Results Ten articles were identified after searching. These studies were analyzed by year, diagnostic criteria, intervention, evaluation criteria, treatment points, treatment effect, treatment duration, and 'Risk of Bias' assessment. Conclusions According to the articles, acupuncture was effective in treating tic disorder. However, additional well-designed randomized controlled studies will be required to justify the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment on tic disorder.

  • A combination procedure of successive occasions sampling and randomized response method is investigated. Randomized response technique is very simple for use in a telephone survey of a sensitive subject. In the suggested randomized response method. the interviewee replies "yes" or "no" to a randomly selected question and the investigator can estimate the proportion of "yes" or "no" answer. When this procedure is used on successive occasions, not only the proportion supporting a candidate and the time change in this supporting proportion can be derived but also the voters' swing in the trend of voters' support can be estimated. A numerical example is given to show how the suggested sampling strategy can be applied to a practical telephone survey.
