철도 차량용 고출력 횡축형 전동기 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design of Linear Motor with Transverse Flux Configuration for Railway Traction System)

  • According to the development of power electronic element(GTO, IGBT) and material for electrical machines(permanent magnet, super conductor), the technology for electrical machines is now a day rapidly developing. Here with, a novel electrical machine, based on the new conception of transverse flux configuration leads to a considerable increase in power density and enables simultaneously high efficiency. The designed and measured performance of transverse machine for railway traction system revealed a great potential of system improvements to reduce linear motor mass.

  • With the development of high speed railway, traction motors play a critical role in the operation of railway vehicle. This paper describes the use of 1000 pF coupler as a on-line partial discharge (PD) measurement for the assessment of railway traction motor. The PD tests are performed with developed PD analyzer and the 5 model coils such as thermal, electrical, mechanical and environmental aging respectively at various AC voltages. On-line PD tests using 1000 pF couplers show that PD patterns can be detected successfully at 2.3 kV.

Here with, a novel electrical machine, based on the new conception of transverse flux configuration leads to a considerable Increase in power density and enables simultaneously high efficiency. The transverse flux machine with PM excitation will be applied to gearless direct drives for railway traction system and magnetic levitation system. The designed and measured performance of transverse machine for railway traction system and magnetic levitation system revealed a great potential of system improvements to reduce linear motor mass and increase efficiency.

  • This study proposes a re-adhesion algorithm that has stable traction effort for rolling stock slip/slide minimization when deliverable traction decreases by slip. The proposed scheme estimates appropriate reference speed using two encoders for reducing slip and controls traction effort stably and has stable control characteristics for disturbance. The algorithm which uses the maximum adhesive effort by instantaneous estimation of adhesion force stably controls traction effort and gives rolling stock excellent acceleration and deceleration characteristics. And a slip sensing element that can quickly detect slip is used. Load motor and inverter were checked in various slip conditions for creating various line conditions.

  • In this paper, the diagnosis method for AC traction motor is to reduce their maintenance loads. We tried to apply this method to maintenance of traction motor in railway vehicle. Sample coils for stator of traction motor were tested by accelerative thermal degradation which composed of heat, vibration, moisture, and overvoltage applying. Reliability and expected life were evaluated on the insulation system for 200 class traction motor.

  • This paper deal with the improvement performance and test result of traction motor for Bimodal low floor vehicles that are CNG(Compressed Natural Gas) hybrid bus. The improvement performance concept of the traction motor is studied in terms of electrical characteristics and mechanical construction. Finally, this paper introduces the result of the traction motor test for low floor vehicles, and mentioned the detail design concept of traction motor.

  • As a drive system for next generation train, we have been making research and development of a direct drive traction motor system without the conventional reduction gear. This traction motor is expected to have many advantages such as low noise, reduced maintenance, and energy saving. Due to the demand for high-output motors in the limited space between the wheels, open-ventilating traction motors with gear box have been widely used for many years. However, a conventional open-ventilating traction motor is necessary periodical disassembly to remove the accumulated dust from open-air ventilation. Reducing this burden, as well as increasing energy efficiency and reducing noise, would benefit the next generation of traction motors. To address these needs, KRRI have been developing a fully enclosed type direct drive motor(DDM) with high-efficiency permanent magnet for the next generation train.

  • The 200 class insulation system which adopted to traction motor have excellent dielectric strength but weaken to thermal stress therefore deterioration phenomena analysis according to thermal stress is necessary. Accelerated thermal aging tests have been used to determine thermal reliability of stator coils used as traction motor in electric multiple unit. The conventional aging test is carried on according to IEC 60034-18-31 and IEEE Std. 275-1992. Variation in insulation resistance, P.I, capacitance, dielectric loss($tan{\delta}$) and partial discharge are measured during the aging cycle. Sample coils for traction motor were tested by accelerated aging test which composed of heat, vibration and moisture. Reliability and expected life were evaluated on the insulation system for traction motor.

  • The korean high speed train (350km/h), composed of 7cars that are 2 power cars, 2 motorized car and 3 trailer cars, has been developed and is under on-line test. To verify the design requirements about the functions and traction performances of this train, KRRI(Korea Railroad Research Institute) decided to evaluate traction performances of the train during on-line test. For this purpose, such as torque, velocity, voltage and current, must be measured. KRRI has developed the measurement system that can be measured vast and various signals effectively. In this paper, we introduce traction performances of korean high speed train. The traction measurement items are focused on the verification of motor block performances. Motor block are consist of 2 motor. For this test, we verified traction performances of korean high speed train.

  • Designing of the squirrel cage AC Traction Motor has many difficulties which has to be small size in order to be suitable into bogie frame, high efficiency and light weight. It means that induction motor for tractive purpose has to be different magnetic and electric loading ratio from industrial induction motor. This paper is devoted to an examination of how this ratio affects overall design concept and hence the main design points for traction motor. Also studied is tile changed coefficients of the magnetic and electric loading ratio squirrel cage induction motor for the traction purpose which has been already identified from tile reference book for industrial purpose induction motor.
