  • The high-speed railway track occurs train operating result track irregularity, subsidence of the track, ballast abrasion. This is the unusual condition. High-speed railway track maintenance task is the behavior which repairs unusual section by using the human resource or machine resource. The resource used to maintenance task is restrictive. A resource can be efficiently used if the high-speed railway track maintenance scheduling is used. So the more task can be performed in the fit time. In conclusion, this manages the unusual condition of a track efficiently. So additional expenses is minimized cause by deteriorating unusual condition. And it offers comfortable ride to passenger. However, maintenance scheduling has to reflect well practical situation and environment. That's maintenance scheduling is used. We gather the opinions of the hands-on workers. So in this paper define field situation and condition. And suggest mathematical model about this. And we developed the track maintenance scheduling software engine using ILOG.

  • The track of high-speed railway get deteriorated according as using it. In that case, the maintenance jobs are needed for improvement of track quality. A scheduling problem for the track maintenance of high-speed railway is to determine the jobs should be performed daily. In the problem, the set of jobs for maintenance is given. Each job has it's parameters such as due date, emergency level, and processing time. In addition, jobs can be worked during a certain fixed time when the train doesn't move. In this study, we developed a mathematical model of the scheduling problem for the maintenance of high-speed railway and solved the problem using the ILOG CPLEX library.

  • In the track geometry such as rails, sleepers, ballasts and fastener, track deterioration occurs by repetitive train weight and the high-speed railway takes a trend faster than normal. Track deterioration of over threshold value harms ride comfort and furthermore affect in trains safety seriously. An organic and systematic track maintenance system is very important because a trend of the track deterioration effects on track life-cycle and running safety. Also costs of the railway track permanent way and its maintenance are extremely large, forming a significant part of the total infrastructure expenditure. Therefor reasonable and efficient track maintenance has to be planed on a budget. It is required to carry out not only corrective maintenance but preventive maintenance for the track maintenance. In order to perform maintenance jobs in the boundary of the machines and resources given regarding the type and amount jobs, it is necessary to determine feasible or optimal scheduling considering the priority. In this study, the system organization and required functions for the development of track maintenance system supported track deterioration prediction and optimal scheduling are proposed.

Railway Track Maintenance Scheduling using Artificial Bee Colony and Harmony Search

  • The objective of this paper is to propose a heuristic algorithm to optimize the railway track maintenance scheduling, a NP-hard problem, by reflecting conditions of the actual field more quickly and easily. We develop the mechanism based on Binary Artificial Bee Colony (BABC) and Binary Harmony Search (BHS), and verify their performance through simulation experiments. Our proposed BABC and BHS mechanisms were applied to problems composed of 30, 60, 100, and 200 operations for railway track maintenance scheduling to carry out experiments and analysis. On comparing it with the results solved by CPLEX, it is found that the mechanism could present an optimal solution within limited time by user.

  • 본 논문의 목적은 보다 빠르고 수월하게 현장의 상황을 반영하여 NP-hard 철도 궤도 유지보수 일정계획을 최적화할 수 있는 Binary Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm (BABC) 휴리스틱 알고리즘을 제안하는 것이다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 방법을 사용하여 빠른 시간 또는 사용자가 제시하는 시간 내에 최적해 또는 최선 해를 제시할 수 있다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법을 사용하여 30, 60, 100, 200개 작업의 궤도 유지보수 일정계획 문제의 실험 및 분석을 통하여 목적식 값을 최대화할 수 있었다.

  • The objective of this paper is to propose a Binary Artificial Bee Colony (BABC) to obtain the best/optimal solution for NP-hard scheduling problem of railway track maintenance. We can greatly maximize the objective value using proposed BABC within limited computation time. The proposed BABC mechanism is very efficient to find the best solution because of employing fewer control parameters.

Improvement of inspection system for common crossings by track side monitoring and prognostics

  • Scheduled inspections of common crossings are one of the main cost drivers of railway maintenance. Prognostics and health management (PHM) approach and modern monitoring means offer many possibilities in the optimization of inspections and maintenance. The present paper deals with data driven prognosis of the common crossing remaining useful life (RUL) that is based on an inertial monitoring system. The problem of scheduled inspections system for common crossings is outlined and analysed. The proposed analysis of inertial signals with the maximal overlap discrete wavelet packet transform (MODWPT) and Shannon entropy (SE) estimates enable to extract the spectral features. The relevant features for the acceleration components are selected with application of Lasso (Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator) regularization. The features are fused with time domain information about the longitudinal position of wheels impact and train velocities by multivariate regression. The fused structural health (SH) indicator has a significant correlation to the lifetime of crossing. The RUL prognosis is performed on the linear degradation stochastic model with recursive Bayesian update. Prognosis testing metrics show the promising results for common crossing inspection scheduling improvement.

  • 현재 도시철도의 열차운행계획 수립과정은 열차 운용에 필요한 철로의 구조, 역사 내 철로 구조, 차량 정비시간 등 다양한 제약조건을 고려하여 이루어 지기 때문에, 매우 복잡한 구조를 가지게 되는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 문제점들로 인하여 다양한 열차운행 시간표(Time-Table)에 대한 비교 분석에 큰 어려움이 있다. 본 연구는 도시철도 운행계획 수립의 효율성 및 체계성을 제고하기 위하여, 철도 운행계획 수립 과정 중 수립 가능한 다양한 차량 시간표(Time-Table)의 기대효과를 열차다이아 작성 이전에 비교분석하여 가장 효과적인 차량 투입계획 및 운행일정을 선정할 수 있도록 하는 방법론을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 열차 운행 시간표(Time-Table)을 분석하기 위하여 Line-Blocking 이론을 활용하였으며 광역철도 4호선중 사당~안산 구간을 대상으로 사례 분석하였다.
