Laboratory Test for Permanent Settlement Behavior of Geo-materials used in Railway Considering Grain size distribution and Water content (입도 및 함수비 조건에 따른 철도 노반 재료의 영구침하거동 요소시험평가)

  • Since allowable settlement of concrete slab track is about 30mm, a lot of attention must be paid to the settlement of the earthwork (reinforced trackbed, upper subgrade, under subgrade) under the concrete track. To this end, more experimental data should be accumulated through tests for these materials. In this study, we evaluate the long-term settlement of reinforced trackbed and subgrade materials using factors such as repeated loading conditions, water content, and grain size distributions in a large triaxial test and a large oedometer test. In cases in which the performance of the reinforced trackbed layer meets the design criteria, the settlement caused by train load was considerably small. But, when the water content increases in the subgrade, unexpectedly large settlement might occur for certain grain size distributions of the subgrade materials.

A Design on the TMS-DCU Interface for Low and High Level Railway Platforms (저상 및 고상 철도 승강장 겸용 승강문 제어유닛과 열차모니터링시스템의 인터페이스 설계)

  • In order to operate trains both mainline railroad platform and metropolitan subway line platform, it is necessary to develop the door step equipment of the rolling stock regardless of low(500mm, mainline) and high level platforms(1,135mm, metropolitan subway line) because of the requisite door safety system. In this study, TMS-DCU interface is studied for low and high level railway platforms. As a result, Design circuit of TMS(Train Management System)-DCU(Door Control Unit) interface is suitable for telescopic sliding type doorstep unit to minimize damage to the carbody underframe of railway vehicles.

공로수송통계의 문제점과 개선방안에 관한 연구

  • This study is to review the road traffics and its process by the type of business in annual Statistical Yearbook of Transportation published under the supervision of Ministry of Transport, and the main purpose of this study is to find out an recommendations for the result of the review. For this purpose, this study surveyed and analyzed actual results and its output process in Statistical Yearbook by vehicle and business types. The local survey is performed for the nationwide 23 cities to produce passenger (ton) number and passenger (ton)-㎞ number by vehicle and business types. The result of the local survey is compared with the road traffics in Statistical Yearbook of Transpotation. The result of the survey analysis reveals that road traffic in Statistical Yearbook is produced formally and there is remarkable differences between road traffic in Statistical Yearbook and local survey output. Conclusively, statistical output process of road traffics must be improved to solve th se problems mentioned above in respect to system and technic. Also it is recommended to publish its own road traffic statistics (tentatively named Statistical Yearbook of Road Transportation) just like Statistical Yearbook of Railroad for user's expediency and practicality.

  • 전세계적으로 신재생 에너지를 활용한 기술에 대한 관심이 대두되고 있는 가운데, 국내외에서 활발히 연구 중인 연료전지를 철도차량에 적용하는 연구를 수행하였다. 연료전지를 동력으로 사용하는 철도 차량시스템은 계통에서 전력을 공급받아 구동하는 철도차량과 달리 배터리를 적용한 토폴로지를 사용한다. 배터리는 역행시 철도차량 견인전동기를 구동하거나 회생시 발생되는 전류를 저장한다. 본 논문은 수소연료전지 발전시스템을 적용시 사용되어야하는 배터리 시스템의 충방전 토폴로지에 대해 분석하였다. 견인전동기 역행 및 회생특성을 반영하여 배터리 충방전 토폴로지 적용가능성을 분석하였고 시뮬레이션을 통해 제어 특성을 확인하였다.

  • This research paper is to analyze the specific situation for the 157 failure cases of Seoul Metro power cable since 1990 and to consider the countermeasures. This is, also, to prevent accidents by analyzing the current state of each Line, the failure of causes, railroad tracks, installation year, opening year, and monthly failure conditions and by presenting the countermeasures. In addition, this research is to discuss the present installation situation of Seoul Metro power cable, the types of power cable, symptoms, causes and the countermeasures.

  • 본 논문은 철도 건널목(교차로)에서 발생하는 차량, 보행자 및 야생 동물 사고 등의 상황에서 발생하는 위험 요소를 설정하고 철도 건널목(교차로)의 운행상황을 확인할 수 있도록 모형 철도 주변에 유형별 센서들을 설치하고 데이터를 인지하여 시스템에 저장하고, 유효한 데이터 분석을 통해 Orange3 머신러닝 기법을 적용한다. 철도 건널목에 관련된 이미지 중 위험인자로서 차량, 보행자 및 야생동물등의 객체를 감지하고 데이터를 수집하여 활용한다. 또한 이러한 데이터들은 이용자 상황에 맞는 철도 데이터 운영 시스템으로 적용할 수 있도록 위험 예측 시스템을 제안한다.

  • To reduce the cost and the time of transport in Eurasian railroad networks such as TKR(Trans-Korea Railway), TCR(Trans-China Railway) and TSR(Trans-Siberia Railway) owing to the problem of different track gauges (narrow/standard/broad gauge), it is important to develop the gauge-adjustable wheelset(GAW) system to adapt easily to these gauges. The Korean GAW system is developing and will be adapting to the brand new freight trains' to improve the conventional overseas GAW system. In this study, structural and durability analyses are performed from the viewpoint of the safe-life design. The core parts of the system might be safe in range of $1{\times}10^7$ cycles from the result of durability analysis. Moreover, to examine the safety of the system while running on a track, rig fatigue test was performed according to UIC code. The safety of the Korean GAW system is demonstrated through testing that all safety-relevant conditions are satisfied.

  • Recently, the influence of electromagnetic environment for low frequency range on human body has been being argued. Light Rail Transit (LRT) System is an urban transit system which has approximately an intermediate transportation capacity between conventional subway and bus. The LRT systems have been applied and being operated in about a hundred lines around the world and many projects that apply the LRT systems in Korea are being proceeded and scheduled. LRT system is operated under the electrical circumstance of high voltage and large current and passengers are exposed in those electrical circumstance. In this paper, EMI/EMC for low frequency range of K-AGT system is measured and analyzed comparing with the international standard.

A Study of Transports Productivity by using Car and Railway (자가운전과 궤도 차량을 이용한 통행생산성 평가연구)

  • Recently study on passenger' activities found that many passengers were ride in kinds of transport, e.g. car and railway while business trip. Usually choice of transport is determined by the transportation of passengers, depending on the purpose of travel. A study was therefore set up to study how efficient influence the transports about business trip. The study involved 4 subjects (4m) which divided into four groups during two day. We evaluate about the transport productivity by each day by using the car and railway. The transport productivity of car and railway was valued in HRV and Stroop Color Word Interference Test. The results showed significant differences between the car and railway. The subjects reported that use of railway is greater transport productivity than the car.

A Historical Review of Socio-economic Changes of Railroad (철도가 가져온 사회경제적 변화에 관한 정성적 연구)

  • This paper illustrates some examples of socio-economic changes brought about by railroads in Korea. The Korean railroad network has been running for 110 years since it started operation in 1899. The opening of railroad system in Korea has had a huge influence on its society, not only transportation but also in the development of infrastructure and formation of new cities, such as Daejeon Metropolitan City, which were built along with the rail network. This paper will examine some examples of the influence that railroads have had on Korean society: the changes of transport route from road to railroad, the emergence of new cities, industries and culture. Also, this paper will look over the various functions of railroads in Korea, and then it compares with those of foreign countries. It gives us chance to examine a specificity as well as universality in the function of railroads.
