터널굴착용 와이어쏘 암반절삭 모델 구축 및 절삭성능 향상 연구 (Study on a Wire Saw Rock Cutting Model for Tunnel Excavation and Cutting Performance Improvement)

  • 발파를 이용한 터널굴착시, 와이어쏘를 이용하여 심빼기 부분 외곽에 불연속면을 발생시켜 발파진동을 차단함으로써 소음 및 진동을 저감시키고자 하는 방법은 타 방법에 비해 시공이 간편하고 경제적일 것으로 예상된다. 본 논문에서는 터널굴착용 와이어쏘의 절삭 메커니즘을 규명하기 위하여 시간에 따른 절삭 깊이 변화와 절삭 중 암석 내부의 와이어쏘 곡선 형태를 파악할 수 있는 절삭 모델을 구축하고 검증하였다. 구축된 모델을 이용한 시뮬레이션을 통해 터널굴착용 와이어쏘 절삭의 특징을 살펴보고, 와이어쏘 인장력, 와이어쏘 속도, 피드 속도, 천공 깊이 및 천공 직경과 같은 주요 조건들이 절삭 성능에 미치는 영향을 검토하였으며, 이러한 검토 결과를 바탕으로 절삭 성능을 높이기 위한 방안을 제시하였다.

  • After the Rio declaration on environment and development in 1992, developed countries are undertaking "environmentally sustainable transportation (EST)" projects. To meet the needs for EST, current transportation policies in Korea are rapidly reforming and one of its concerns is modernizing and upgrading railway freight system. Planning new railroad construction projects is increasing and subsequent environmental impact assessment (EIA) demands improvements, especially in both the EIA and decision making systems. In this paper, we discuss the present status of EIA for railroad construction projects, especially, by analyzing the EIA documents for the last six years. The EIA for railroad construction projects accounts for only 4.9% of total 918 project EIAs during 1998-2003, and the portion is gradually increasing. Major environmental concerns for EIA in railroad construction projects were geomorphological and ecological changes, protection of rare organisms, air pollution, water pollution, waste management, and noise, etc. We compared characteristics of environmental impacts of railroad construction with those of vehicle road construction, based on environmental and construction-planning indicators appeared in Environmental Impact Statements. Railroad construction usually requires longer tunnels and bridges for a given length than those for vehicle road construction. In addition, the amounts of geomorphological and ecological changes (road-cutting, embankment, devegetation, etc.) in railroad construction were generally less than 50% of those in vehicle road construction. To develop environmentally friendly railway systems, monitoring studies for environmental impacts of railroads such as habitat fragmentation and road kills, dispersal of alien plants, tunnelling effects on groundwater and vegetation, and noise impacts are highly recommended.

바이프리스트레싱 기법을 이용한 철도교량의 동적안정성 (Dynamic Stability of a Railroad Bridge Using Bi-prestressing Technology)

  • 철도의 고속화가 진행됨에 따라 보다 경제적인 고속선용 교량 시스템의 개발을 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이 논문에서는 기존의 프리스트레싱기법에 새로운 방식으로 추가적인 프리스트레스를 도입할 수 있는 바이프리스트레싱기법을 이용한 신형식 거더를 소개하였다. 추가적인 인장력은 단면 상부에 설치된 강봉 사이에 쐐기형 핀바를 삽입하여 도입할 수 있다. 신형식 거더가 적용된 철도교량의 고속선 적용성은 동적해석을 통한 안정성 검토를 통하여 수행하였다. 동적안정성 검토는 30m, 35m 및 40m 경간의 교량시스템에 대한 KTX 이동하중해석을 통하여 수행하였다. 검토 결과 개발된 교량은 구조적 안정성, 주행안전성, 승차감 확보를 위하여 검토되고 있는 제한값을 모두 만족하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • This paper proposes a simulation method of train control system to increase railroad transportation capacity in the Seoul Subway. Comparing with the conventional fixed block system, a new train operation method of "moving block system" shows a more capability of same railroad. A graphic simulation program is developed for application of moving block system to Seoul subway train control system. The result of the simulation program shows a shorten headway i.e. a more dense operation of trains and a higher efficiency of railroad with the suggested moving block system.

  • Following the needs for increment of public transportation system electric railroad system should be expended. There are several solutions to expend. One of these solutions is to reduce the interval between two railroad vehicles. However, it cannot be reduced too much because reduction of interval means increment of loads and induces supplying voltage decrement. In this paper, voltage variation according to railroad intervals is simulated and optimal operation in railroad system is proposed.

A Review on Intelligent Compaction Techniques in Railroad Construction

  • The purpose of this paper was to review Intelligent Compaction (IC) techniques, which is regarded relatively new to the railroad roadbed construction activity. Most of civil structures are built on roadbed that supposed to provide adequate load bearing support to the upper structure through the qualified compaction process. However, it is not uncommon for structure failure attributed to inadequate compaction control take place in field sites. Unlike traditional compaction control method to check field density at several locations, IC techniques continuously measure various compaction quality indices that represent compaction uniformity. In this paper, a series of literature review relevant to IC techniques was conducted to provide concise summary on the following categories: 1) background of IC technique; 2) Summary of IC vendors and basic principles; 3) modeling of IC behavior, and 4) case study along with correlation between IC with other measurements. In summary, IC technologies seem to be promising in future railroad construction to achieve better compaction quality control so that the serviceability of railroad can be ensured with minimizing rehabilitation and maintenance activities.

장기간 온도변화에 따른 전차선로 전선류의 노후도 분석 (Aging Analysis of Catenary Wires in Accordance with Temperature Changes for a Long Period of Time)

  • In this paper, catenary wires were analyzed aging through the experiment about a new product and a test sample in accordance with temperature changes from long-term use. In case of the contact wire, the maximum load was reduced within 7% and the tensile strength showed a reduced within 6.7% compared with a new reference standard $110mm^2$. 19 Strands of messenger wire have a little more than a standard value, but result data on tensile test were less than the reference value about stranded wire. Also parts among 49 strands of dropper was found to be smaller than the reference value and it appeared greatly increasing intensity as toward the center of the strand.

  • Cargo tracking issue on train transportation is challenging area because of long distance haulage, theft, terror attack and customer service. This paper aims at evaluating various cargo tracking systems in terms of cost and technology. The contents of this paper consist of the research trend of cargo tracking system in the railroad transportation and reviewing of technical alternatives in cost and service side. GNSS and RFID are reviewed as location tracking technology, Internet and Satellite technology like INMASAT and Low Earth Orbit are also reviewed as communication infrastructure. This paper selects cost and service factors in two alternatives of GNSS-Satellite and RFID-Internet, among GNSS-Internet, GNSS, Satellite, RFID-Internet, RFID-Satellite and evaluate each alternative in terms of cost and service. In a result, in terms of cost, RFID-Internet type is superior to GNSS-Satellite type, but in service GNSS-Satellite type is preferred to RFID-Internet in point of area coverage and service coverage.

  • Many advanced nations have been developing the next generation logistic systems to effectively deal with gradually increased logistic flows over the world. Particularly, dual mode trailer(DMT) systems are significantly focused as a new alternative transportation which basically provides integrating of the land and railroad services. This paper presents new driving mechanism for DMT systems using the hydraulic pressure cylinder systems. Such is mechanically composed of supporting and rotating parts independently, which are mostly important for whole system performance. We analyze feasible operational problem occurred in driving mechanism from the conventional DMT systems and compare our proposed deign specification with the Modalohr DMT system to demonstrate its reliability and practicability.
